Kemet was the first game I played when I got into modern board gaming and it’s still one of my favorites. If I had to throw out a top ten, I’d go with (in no particular order); - Ark Nova. - DUNE Imperium - Orleans - Pulsar 2849 - BattleLore - Dominare - Anachrony - Teotihuacan - Alien Frontiers - Summoner Wars
The play effect on Treacherous Maneuver is a must so if you play this card, you will have to trash it and an additional card. I think it's mainly for reveal to gain the extra intrigue card! Amazing video but! Super hyped on Uprising!!
It is nice that are now so many interesting Guild cards...but in the book they're almost completely omitted in plot. At least in the first book from Chronicles of Dune.
I'm so glad this game has gotten more traction. I picked it up after seeing the MCDC plays a bit before new Dune movies came out. Such a fun deep game. Our play group loves Risk 2210 AD and this as our favorite longer form games
Hey, great to see some gameplay on digital version! Is there a way to get it? or can you just play rise of IX because it was an app specifically designed for tournament?
It feels like all your discussion is based on the normal 10 point game instead of the epic mode. I wonder why the meta in ONLINE community is to avoid epic mode?
So many houses in the lore. Hell, at this point I'd consider the RTS Ordos canon. Instead we got "Amber". A shitty character and a shitty leader card. Total waste of time and opportunity.
Great video! Is this an older version of the rules, as the ability to use a BG token to search the card decks and gaining a red prescience point for destroying a harvester, are not mentioned in the retail version of the rules? Thanks
Best video to get a taste of Dune gameplay for the uninitiated, thank you! Covered the right amount of rules and game situations, while presenting an exciting experience. This is a fantastic format to make heavy games more approachable.
I have a question about Tread in Darkness. Since it's missing the arrow symbol to denote a payment and it's not directing to trash it self, so is the trash part optional? I assume it is.
The only part I would disagree with is the Imperial Privilige space. I rate that space fairly high, I think it's better than mentat was, because it recalls, not gives you an extra agent, so you can double up on the a space you went to previously, especially if you can do it on agent 3 so the chances for opponents to take the space are limited (or none if you are last in turn order). But even if not, the existence of spies makes being blocked less of a problem than the original game. So because of that, I would rate green access especially Prepare the Way and Hidden Missive higher. Because those cards can go to Imperial Privilige, net you 2 cards total, and get an agent back. Plus the intrigue replacement. So this can really mess with the combat math of the opponents and give you loads of cards for more options, and big reveals for Spice Must Flow.
Hey I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately and was wondering which dune you would recommend to buy. Either dune imperium or dune imperium: uprising, and why?
In order to gain double the prize with worm, you have to pay double the price as well. So, in the end, you should have paid 12 solari to get +2 VPs (not only 6)
My godkids got me the Barnes/Noble edition for Christmas last year and I've read the rules, got confused...watched some YT vidoes, still confused but cleared some things up...saw this and like "Yep, all the negotiation and backstabbing, I'm awful at that so I'm gonna suck at this game."
I have played this game a lot, and every time I play it, I learn new strategies. Guild is actually my favourite faction, because of their dominance in shipping. This was an excellent showcase of the game....and one of the best uses of Truthtrance I have ever seen!
I bought on steam Dune Imperium 2 days ago, but I don’t see any expansions (ie : rise of IX, etc.). Can someone explain/help? The original game is good, but I prefer to have at least « rise of IX » to enjoy it more. Thanks!
This was so damn helpful, thank you! This game looks like so much and I now feel properly ready to take on the fury of the desert (or control it) thanks to your showcase.
Nobody picked my all-time favorite - Coffee Traders! It’s a perfect mix of mechanics that seamlessly segue from phase to phase of the round. No randomness, and 100% open information. Just enough player interaction, but no “take-that”. And, you are constantly engaged even in a 5-player game because you can piggy-back on other players’ actions. A perfectly-balanced game!
Hi I have a question here 😊 I do not have the original base game and any expansion but I wanna buy one. Would you recommend me for buying the OG base game or this Uprising version? Plus if I buy the uprising deck, is any other previous expansion game you would suggest to get as well?
