Hey man, I did start watching ur videos before I got the approbation here in Germany and thanks to your videos the transition was smoother. I intended to either do a Hospitation before I started working or an FSP Vorbereitungskurs, but I ended up taking the course because I got it financed through the Agentur fur Arbeit. Takeaway message from your videos were: Start preparing early, Where to mail documents and the Books Now I am a working as a neurologist in BW Good luck with your new job!
Best of luck, please continue to keep us updated. Currently planning to get a residency in switzerland from germany aswell. You are a great inspiration for me :)
Thank you very much for every video! Looking forward to new videos! You have helped me so much! When I make it to Germany (now i’m B1.1, long road ahead), I will let you know. Wish you the very best in your career in Switzerland! 😇
Firstly I really want to thank you for the amazing content you have shared, I came across your channel by accident and binged all the videos, I'm entering my 6th year of medical school and looking forward to either Germany or Switzerland, as a non EU citizen studying in the EU, in this channel I got more information that I did in the last 2 years trying to understand how these things work, I'm very appreciative, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I look forward to the video about working in Switzerland as a non EU citizen.
Hi Eutopia i would also like to have solutions concerning non-EU citizens who have EU medical diploma (Hungary) who wishes to do their medical residency in Switzerland. I have actually emailed MEBEKO about this. They told me that if I dont have EU/AELE nationality, i don't fall for the direct recognition. They told me that I have to apply for the foreign non-recognisable medical degree recognition pathway.(which is weird since this pathway is for non-EU medical diplomas and I shouldn't fall in this category either) So basically they put me in the same category as a non-EU with unrecognised non EU medical degree, which I heard is the worst category to be put in)
Good luck with your new journey! Yes I learned a lot from your videos about the pathway to Germany. Actually I just finished B2 and now I‘m in the process of sending my papers and waiting to receive the „Bescheid“ so I can get the visa and travel. Thank you so much, your videos have been really helpful to me. the first time I checked your videos, at that time I haven’t even started learning the language, and back then I remember that there wasn’t actually anything on RU-vid explaining the pathway to Germany except for your videos, so they guided me a lot, and helped me decide that I wanna choose Germany for my residency. Thank you again and I hope you enjoy your time in Switzerland! Last thing if you could when you have time to share with us tips and advice for applying for „Hospitation“, because I‘ve been sending emails but unfortunately with no positive replies. I‘m a post graduate, did one year of internship and I have a B2 goethe certificate.
Hey EutopiaMed! Could you elaborate more on what were you dissatisfied about with your German contract? Was it more hours/less pay? Also how prevalent is this dissatisfaction among resident German doctors in general?
Satisfaction is a relative concept that depends on the person. 2 different people may see the same thing in complete different ways. That being said: I could say that where I was working noone seemed to be happy or satisfied. This is something that happens often in hospitals as a result of the working culture and conditions and not necessarily just in germany. It may be an inherent characteristic of hospitals everywhere. As I have more experience in different hospitals and acountries I will be able to tell the differences and maybe understand why this happpens. The contract was fine. If I had to do more hours I would get paid acordingly.
I've recently passed my FSP and will soon be working as an anaesthesiologist in Hessen. Your videos have been super insightful and inspiring and I've been watching them since medschool! Thanks a lot for your time putting all these info together and digesting it one by one for us! Wish you all the best in Switzerland! Can't wait for the next video!! 🤩
Hello , first of all congrats on passing the exam , secondly is it possible to chat view social media i have a few questions about these stuff im a 5th year med student and learning German, thank you for your time
I found your account yesterday and I have almost watched every single video on your channel already 😅 I am currently a 4th year med student and you are helping me so much. I am able to start preparing for my approbation process early thanks to you!
I am graduating this September , and literally your videos helped me alot. Gonna move from Italy to Germany in the following months, best of luck to all :)
I’m planning to apply next year to Germany and as a foreign doctor (specifically latinamerican) your videos have helped me to visualize better what will my pathway be, thank you Eutopia :)
I've watched all of your videos and so glad to see your new one, it's always inspiring! Happy that you made a move though. Really looking forward to see videos on foreign doctors working in Swiss.
I’m from Honduras, I’d love yo learn more on how to get into medical residency in switzerland. Right now I am in year 4/7 of medical school, But still, we can never start too early ;) thank you for you videos
good luck for the move Eutopia! Your videos have helped me so so much in deciding to forge a career path in Germany also as a future anesthesia doctor. I too would request a vidoe on hospitation in germany speci for non EU doctors, danke schon!
Hey, EutopiaMed! Congratulations for your trajectory, it is insipiring to everyone who watches your videos :) Your RU-vid Channel is a treasure for me, thank you for so many informations! I am medicine student in Brazil and since I traveled to Switzerland I decided to be a medical doctor there, so I am looking foward to watch your next videos, it will help me a lot to plan my next steps. Also, could you say if the grades and extra curricular projects (like volunteer jobs, summer internship in Switzerland for example, scientific research) matter in the approbation process? I wish you the best on your new jorney, please keep us updated :))
Hey there! Soon Ill add on the approbation process for nor EU doctors in Switzerland. The requirements to get it are very straight forward and and volunteering and research are not amongst them In other words the dont help. Experience working in Switzerland/ Europe does help as it is one of the requirements.
Hey! I am from Europe and will graduate from medical school in 1 year. I am currently learning German and am wondering whether I should do my residency in Austria, Germany or Switzerland. Your videos are very helpful! I hope you will make a video comparing Switzerland and Germany. Thank you!
good luck! Can you do more videos about Germany and the health system there? I am currently preparing for the fsp and I am a non-EU doctor. Have you had any colleagues, that are from a non-EU country in the hospital where you used to work in Germany? Can you do a video with them, explaining the whole approbation process? What difficulties did they have with the FSP and KP etc...?
I have had many colleagues from non EU Countries. I try not to my youtube with my professional life and son nobody knows about this channel. I will try to find someone willing to share his experience
@@EutopianDoctor hello! first of all congratulations and best of enjoyment on your new career path! do you think swiss german is a barrier for foreigners that are now struggling to learn high german to then apply to one of the german speaking cantons? i have been considering both germany and switzerland but switzerland seems more attractive mostly because of a more straightforward process and salary. do you think it is feasible for EU, (italian here :D) to apply for more competitive specialties in switzerland without work experience besides the rotations in the hospitals in milan during uni? in any case i plan on moving to switzerland after specialization, so i’m afraid if i apply in germany maybe in the future i dont end up going to switzerland best,
I am looking forward to your video about getting an approbation in Switzerland for non eu individuals ( I myself am non eu but have an eu diploma + B2 in german )
Could you please tell if you can directly switch from German residency to switzerland residency as a non EU citizen, what's the process, does passing fsp kp in Germany make us elligible to do residency in switzerland? Thanks a lot!!
Good luck bro, im watching all of your videos !! If possible, could you make a video about requirements of coming directly as a Specialist doctor to Switzerland, from a EU country ? (Im from Romania)
can you tell us how can you increase your chances to get a job in Switzerland? for example, do you have higher chances to work in a german canton if you know french? is this an advantage they look for?
Hello and thank you for your videos! I just wanted to ask, if it's posiible to register non EU diploma in MEBEKO by yourself to start working? Or it's better to ask consulting organisation to do it for you?
It is possible to do it by yourself. Many people do. If you are unsure about your personal situation you can always email them and they will surely email back answering your questions. I will explain further on that topic soon
@@EutopianDoctor really looking forward to watch this video, thanks a lot! Do you also have to register your language level certificate (B2) in MEBECO to be able to work?
Mal sehen lol
Exactly i am a libyan doctor i will finish b2 exam next month and am moving to germany But since now i am thinking of moving after that the salaries in germany are really weak and the taxes are very high in comperance of other countries specially with the inflation and after the pressure in covid time and also the germans are racist mostly yes and thier behavior could be extreme sometimes Doctors deserve better
Hello, Thanks for the informative videos ! I want to know your opinion if someone gets admission in Msc.in Public Health in Germany,is it a good option to come to Germany to do Msc.in Public Health and simultaneously prepare for FSP and KP in Germany ???
Hi Dr. :) thanks for your helpful videos ! What are high demand residencies in swiss? (Except psychiatry) also wanted to ask after getting swiss approbation how long it will take approx to get a residency spot in german speaking region of swiss ?
After Psychiatry ( by far the one looking for more doctors) I would say that internal diseases ( Innere Medizin) would be the second one. I dont have the statistic with me though. The whole process can take a few months and the position may start and the first day of work may be many months after that. So it is always good to plan well in advance.
Thank you Doc. I have heard that if you are graduated from an EU country but you are not EU resident switzerland will handle your approbation same as a graduate from a Non-EU country. is that true?
Hi I’m an IMG fresh graduate with British Nationality would it be possible to get job offer in Switzerland? I’m also interested in Anesthesiology if you don’t mind sending me details who to email and where to go that would mean the world to me as I’m lost and don’t know where to do my residency in
hey eutopia. what if you switched hospitals in Germany? you were not satisfied working in one hospital so why not just apply for different best hospitals....
Hi dr, thanks for your helpful videos…I have a question Can German general practitioner work in Switzerland? If, yes so what will be the criteria for me?
Thank you for the video , As a resident please if i will not have a new contract after one year with another , what should i do ? Could we take this risk ? 😢@eutopia
It’s common that contracts only last 1 year and that you are forced to contact many many hospitals and try to „patch“ the empty time. It is what it is, we all have to try to plan ahead. That’s why it’s common to apply 3 years in advance
