Great to see your face again, Chela! As always, I have huge respect for your honestly, optimism, and balanced approach. Dealing with my own regain here 3+ years post-VSG. Thanks for being you 😊
Hi! I’ve been watching your VSG journey. So happy that you’re vulnerable with us to share your journey. Thank you! Something I learned in my weight loss journey was not just focusing on the food and exercise but sleep and stress levels. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your journey.
Hiiiii long time no seee!!! I started zepbound in January. I had gained back 70 of the 110 lbs I lost with the sleeve, not with a lack of trying. But they are definitely finding that there is something this med does in the brain to stop the food noise, way more than wegovy. Also not as symptomatic. I’m down 23 pounds so far and if I have to take this my whole life to have the peace in my mind I have now I will. You also don’t have to combine it with other meds. Anyway hopefully you find what works for you. I’m very happy to see you on here. ❤😘
I am so happy I found wegovy. I was 350lbs had VSG in 2016. Went down to 160, maintained then was 182 in October 2022. Started wegovy and now I’m 133. I’m super happy and plan on staying on as long as I feel I can. Good luck. You can do this again! Best wishes and can’t wait to see your videos going forward with updates. I’m an OG!
I remember when I first started to follow you. You worked in the office, ran on lunch, ate really well. You did great then you can do it again. Miss seeing you more often on your health journey
Thank you! I intend to check in here more often. I am certainly glad I no longer work in the office and have to use my lunch breaks for workouts! Work from home and working out in the afternoon is infinitely better for me. But I will get back to eating really well! I'm sure of it! 👏🏽 Thank you for watching.
Hi 👋 I love the new intentions. I'm with you on the weightloss journey. I'm looking for slow and sustainable, but I'd love to add more walks like you and your hub
It's wonderful to see you again Chela, you look as beautiful as ever. I am fighting some regain as well. A PA at my doctor's office tried to talk me into using the new drugs but I am not thrilled with the idea of having to use them the rest of my life. However, I stopped my late night snacking after the holidays and have been doing a ton of treadmill time every day and the weight isn't budging. I watch a lot of weight loss RU-vidrs and it's kind of disheartening. Take care.
Sounds like you have some great things going on. I agree on the psych meds, but the incretins line Wegovy and Mounjaro are not the same. Mounjaro has been just the adjunct treatment I needed to treat my obesity. Mounjaro is far more effective than Wegovy for most. However, those who are insulin resistant lose more slowly on incretins. I had fast gastric emptying, so I am a super responder. I am on it for life, but these incretins are polypeptides. They are barely medications under FDA guidelines. I know it isn’t for everyone, but I lost my 50 lbs of regain plus almost 50 more. I am down well over 170 lbs. I needed surgery and meds. I hope you find what is sustainable for you. I know you know what to do, but we each have to find what we can sustain. I get sick as a dog on keto, but I know you felt great on it. I am rooting for you. I am also on board with not doing fast fashion. I can’t thrift due to allergies, but I can do Poshmark, the Real Real, etc. There are still quality items in some stores. I find really good stuff, and as a former department head of an Amlaw200 firm, I had to know and wear quality. I mostly shop online at Banana Republic, Macy’s, Ann Taylor, WHBM, and a few other places. I love clothes, but I am working hard on building a capsule wardrobe this time around to cut down on consumption. Quince is an amazing new online retailer with quality silk, wool, etc. direct from factories to improve quality, cut down on consumption, and ensure workers are treated well.
Love and miss you, friend!! May I recommend places like the Salvation Army store for second-hand clothing? I find they benefit the community better, they are. non-profit, and usually have a great mix of household goods, clothing, shoes, etc...
Gaining that much weight quickly and losing that much weight IS because of extreme dieting, using the meds and the surgery is extreme. Ive done it and when I just eat moderate ly I was the same weight for many many years. Now Im perimenopausal and have gained about 10 lbs in a couple of years. Which is crazy because I didnt change what i was eating.
So good to see you back you look beautiful. It’s hard we all go through ups and downs but watching your years I know you will do it again and get that weight off. sounds like you have a full life and things are going great. They don’t make you happy and motivate you to want to get the weight off and move more again happy travels,
I'm 3 years post gastric bypass. I've gained back about 15lbs. Never did reach my goal weight so it kind of freaks me out. Now that I'm retired I can finally concentrate on myself. Enjoy your honest view of your life with no sugar coating it.
Thank you for your consistency! 2017 was my year and our numbers were similar. We should do a collab one day. I remember when you did 60 sec questions with folks...😊
I was on Ozempic and came off it after switching to a Ketovore diet. I used it to maintain my weight after my sleeve 8 years ago, I never made it to my goal weight sadly. I’m not losing weight after 2 months eating ketogenic but I’m not gaining and just trying to build muscle and focus on my body composition. It’s hard to be patient. I hope we get to hear another update from you soon 😀
I just lost 12 lbs in 5 weeks. Mounjaro really helps me. I suggest you stop traveling for a while. People can't maintain weight by going on a cruise. Tons of food and alcohol!
Congratulations! I'm glad it's working for you. I don't think I'll stop travelling anytime soon. Happiness is a priority in my life. The good news is that I don't drink very much and the food on the cruise was 😝
