First, congratulations in chasing your dreams! It’s hard to take that first step when you can see the entire staircase and you did it! Secondly, for some encouragement, my husband left his full time job at 52, went back to school, and is now an amazing RN. Last but not least, I quit my job and started my own business and it’s been amazing. There’s nothing like taking control of your life and choosing a new path, it’s both scary but oh so liberating! Thanks for telling us the truth about this occupation. I quit my job as a medical practitioner last 3 years after 10 years in the field. It was not a easy decision. But in life we all know one thing and that it is too short to dread going to work everyday. Friends I’m not asking you to resign your job, no amount of money can buy happiness you just got to be wise.😊 I found your channel, you’re awesome.

Never give up. I was in X-ray school and needed a 65 on my last final. I made a 64.3 which left me with a 74.4 which in X-ray is an F. 75 is the lowest you can get. I was going to go back and try the semester again next year, but I was offered a spot in the cardiac sonography at another school. I had met one of the teachers at from that program in my clinicals for X-ray. She called after she found out I failed and offered me a spot for the next year. She said she knew I’d be perfect for it. So I tried it and I LOVE it. I’ve been doing it for 6 years now and I just got a new job in it at a clinic I had done some of my clinicals at. My co workers are great and my boss is amazing. You are so right about doing what makes you happy. It makes everything else in your life better too. Good luck next year on your classes!

So, the first video of yours I stumbled across was your first mega Temu haul. You had a kind of presence that I liked. Excited, but not too loud, humor, and a sense of sincerity. I thought, I can listen to this guy, like a friend Il’d call up to dish. That lead me to go to your channel and see what your videos were about. I clicked this one because the title had acting. I’m so glad I did. I just subscribed and would love to see more of these chats. I totally understood what you were saying. You seem to be in a good place with a good positive attitude, and those are the type of people you want around. Love your gratitude (my #1 belief to personal happiness) and your encouragement. I’d like to follow you on all your platforms. I’m sure I’m one of your oldest followers, but I can’t seem to find the positivity and encouragement from people in my age group. I used to do real estate but had to give it up due to my circumstances at the time (I loved it) so good luck to you! I became a background actor to help get me out of my comfort zone. I needed to shake up my life even though the thought terrified me! I love knowing and experiencing what goes on behind the scenes, so that’s why I do it. I enjoy it so much! Jamie, I’m so happy for you. I know you will do well in whatever you decide to do. Super happy you’ll still be doing RU-vid and acting again! Your videos sure brighten my day. I have a small pic on my desk that says “Choose Joy” and I do my best to share joy with those I come in contact with daily. My motto is life is way too short to be miserable, but I have not always taken my own advice. In the last couple months some things have come up that made me rethink my choices. It wasn’t an easy decision but it’s what’s best for me and my family … so I finally pulled the trigger and signed up for early retirement starting in January (I’m only able to do this because I’m a widow). I love WHAT I do, just not the office politics and the terrible pay. I’ve put up with everything for years because I love our patients and the doctors I work for but it’s time to do what’s best for me and my family. I plan on working about six more months so I have time to figure out what to do from there. Maybe reopen my Etsy store that I had to close when I became a full time caregiver to my husband. I would also like to finally get my Realtor license as well. It’s been a dream of mine for years, that and a CPA license. Two great jobs I can do part-time after I retire. I have a friend who's been in real estate just around a year. The market has been all over the place however she stormed out of the gates and hit the top in her company. Unfortunately however now things are slowed down. Not a lot of houses and people are afraid to buy. I'm not trying to scare you or in any way spoil your dreams however I do want to mention one thing. There are a lot of us who are unable to leave the house for one reason or another. I am going insane without watching my Crafters! Even if the fourth quarter is the busiest to craft please please continue crafting when times are slow! You'll probably do better than anyone else. People like me are hungry to watch and learn and we don't like seasonal decor. Just ideas in general. So if times are slow in real estate and seasonal Decor is slow and crafting just craft something that can be used or admired every day! Your channel will stay busy I promise you. Very best of luck to you and congratulations! It might be the best time to get that info under your belt. I know my friend has been learning on the job and that can cause a lot of headaches so the more you know going in of course the better. Looks to me like things are going in your favor all the way around.

I retired from a job I used to love early because of some management changes that were made causing the atmosphere to become stressful and encouraging backstabbing. It's scary, but you have to do what is best for you. I also quit my job last January after 44 years in the healthcare field. I was burned out, had headaches, my stomach would get upset, I was not happy and just not having fun anymore. I knew I had to go when patients would complain how much they didn't feel good, and I would just think to myself "I don't want to listen to this anymore"!!! And that was NEVER me!! I LOVED patient contact. It made me sad really to realize I couldn't do that anymore. I don't regret leaving. I take care of my mom now and I LOVE IT!!! Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Jamie, I did the same exact thing! And like you, out of respect for others that I left behind, I won’t say too much, however, after 31 years of being a supervisor, giving my all, and having to put my beliefs and my family behind my job, I walked out…no warning and no notice. I dreaded driving to work everyday and it just stole my joy. I didn’t have a plan and I didn’t have social media, but I had a loving husband that has stood beside me through it all. Thankfully, I am able to be a housewife until I decide on a new career path. Good Luck to you and I hope you find happiness in real estate!

Exciting new chapter in your life! I was forced from my previous job when the hospital closed down. I had NO choice but to chase after the education I wanted for the position I had been wanting to do for a long time. It paid off! This will pay off for you too! Your opening had me in tears, but in a good way. Your inspirational words are much appreciated. Congratulations on your new endeavor in real estate. I was and RE paralegal in Delaware for 7 years back until 2010 when the market was booming. DE is one of three states I believe in the country where you need an attorney to handle the closing vs. just a title company in the rest of the states. I saw how hard realtors work and although I did a lot of hand holding for whichever party we were representing, it was so gratifying when the process was over and someone bought their dream home or a family sold a property from an estate. The appreciation I got from that job was like no other. And I know realtors are at their clients’ beckon call basically 24 hours a day. So you are the real ones who make the dreams come true. I wish you continued success in all you do!! ❤

I don't recall ever hearing what your full time job was...but I just knew you quit awhile ago. I just felt it as in some of your videos I thought you looked happier and made mention of changes coming. Anyway, I am happy for you to be able to make these changes and follow your dreams. I definitely wouldn't recommend a fast track course...my daughter is back in school and she is taking a course that should be like a year or two long, but doing it in less than 6 months! She's overwhelmed with all the work, plus she has a part time job and she's a single mom...so much stress. Just take care of yourself and make time for the things you really love as well. You can do whatever you set your mind too. Cas in Canada 💖

WOW so brave to make such a life change! Good for you! I was able to retire at 62 and I am so much happier now. The work I was doing and really liked went away in the company I was at and changed to phone work, which is not a thing I wanted to do.

@TheCraftyDiyGuy So on Sunday at 7pm I received a text from My Boss telling me they are going in a different direction with My Position and effective immediately I was terminated. I was a little upset by the text message. I would have thought it would’ve been a face-to-face conversation, but I guess in today’s society a text message is appropriate. I don’t know. Today I’m sitting here pondering again about starting a RU-vid channel, but I’ve always been my own worst critic, and I never think that what I create is good enough. So as I’m sitting here, thinking about that, I remember this video and how you took an amazing chance to be happy and I just wanted to hear it again to be motivated. I have been thinking about a RU-vid channel for quite some time. I bought a tripod in 2021. I have the iPhone 14 promax that I just bought last month so I know that will be good enough to start. I am fairly new to your channel, but this video really resonated with me. I love the work, but my joy and passion for the job is nearly gone. I've been longing to make my big exit but struggle a bit. It's more difficult when you don t have finances saved or a supportive network. I realize this is something I must do sooner rather than later and made a leap of faith to start my business. You will find the happiness that you deserve!! I was fired from a job of 15 years, 7 years ago. I was winning awards for sales and hospitality. They brought someone in that made 1/2 what I made. It was such a scary time but it was the BEST thing for me. I now work for United Way and I love it! I have a fabulous boss and I get to help people! In the 7 months that I was unemployed, I lost 5 family members, starting with my mom. God knew that I needed to be able to grieve. I started at United Way, the day that my unemployment ended. Take the time that you need and begin this new chapter in your book of life! Thank you for sharing!❤😊

Sorry, I haven't been around. My mom passed and my dad now has the Alz diagnosis. Life has been crazy. I am proud of you. That test is hard! I attempted it a very long time ago when the tax laws were being changed so we got to skip that part. I still missed it by 1. My ex FIL wanted the whole family in the business. It has never been what I wanted to do so I was glad I didn't pass. You can make good money in the field and if you enjoy it, I say keep pushing forward. What I am truly happy for you though is you are looking at your life and deciding how you want your life to be and are talking action to work towards this. I am proud of you and I have always enjoyed your channel. I look forward to trying some new crafts. 😊

I tried to quit. I make fairy doors. Fairy doors by Tommie. I was burned out , started diying , had major heart surgery and now going to give it another fairy season but I needed time away from it.

The way I felt immediately after turning in my resignation was amazing! I swear I heard God say “Well that took you long enough!” So have fun doing things differently! Enjoy!

I left a 15 year job with the elections office I loved it, money was super, but I was burned out, salary pay, and worked over 50 hours with no compensation. And the New supervisor was not the nicest. So I put my 2 weeks and quit with no other job, but 5 months later I did find another job with Planning Zoning and Bldg also with the Government, pay not as high, but I’m happy been there 8 years and 23 with the county! So like you said we just have to believe in our selves! Good luck to you will keep you in my prayers 😊

Good luck dude. I walked away from my job in January ‘22. sounds like for the same kind of reasons. The good side is, I was able to retire, even though I wasn’t ready to, but I felt led by the Holy Spirit that it was something that I not only needed to do, but had to do for my own sanity and well-being. God‘s got you! You’re gonna do awesome . Enjoy each day and listen for the smallest things because even those can turn into great things.

Am glad for you. I had to retire after 20 years of nursing. But, my body told me I just couldn't keep doing it. I found out I had arthritis in my ankles.

Your making choices for your benefit and mental clarity...my daughter is going through something like you are she crying all the time she's worried people will think of her as a failure. She's going to emt school working 8 to 12 hour shifts 6-7 days a week she's a very strong willed women I told her I always going to be here for her that she's not failing at anything to do what makes her happy and don't worry about others she doesn't have to answer to anyone but herself and God...congrats Jamie on your new journey ❤️

Believe in yourself and the kindness in the world. I once was in a situation where my 20 year plus job that I loved turned in to a pit of despair and betrayal and there was no way anymore to know who to trust. I found you. I’m at the tail end of the OG group. Watching your videos got me through the day inspiring my creative side. You and your tattoo and your talk of believing in yourself and all the believe signs in your hauls got me through to the bright side and helped me figure out what to do. That led to a new adventure that is so filled with joy I don’t have the words to express it. I believe in you Jamie. I also believe in always taking the path to peace and love. Jamie, I'm super excited for you!!! When you said a few months ago that you had some upcoming changes, I really was hoping you would do more with your own acting. I can't wait to see what you do with that! I know that was a disheartening to get so close on your test. I had a similar situation once and it hurt but I got past it as I'm sure you will. I really liked when you did the cocktail hour lives early on in the pandemic. It felt more flexible than the chit chat show to just be able to drop in and say hello for a bit. My friend went to real estate school. Don’t get discouraged she took the test 3 times, She said it was very hard! But she made up her mind to do it and she did. You can too!

Thank you for sharing! I've done some community theater and extra work on films, and I can understand about wanting to actually act instead of hosting. And you are much more talented! My husband retired at the end of September from a job that paid well and had excellent benefits, and the next chapter of our life is uncertain about where and for what.

My mom always said everything happens for a reason. Took me awhile to accept what she was telling me. I left my job and never looked back. I am much happier person today. Good luck in your new adventure! You have some wonderful people to keep you positive ☺️💖

Man you scared me at first I thought you were going to quit RU-vid. I love your videos so at first I was upset. If real estate is what you want to do then go for it you can do it. I would love for the chit chat show with other Crafters to come back I think you did a marvelous job with that. As far as I know I think you were the only person who did that. Jamie, after my divorce I attempted to get my real estate license in PA, and failed the first time. You can do this. You have an infectious personality and will do well in the real-estate game. I moved to Florida and got a Property managers license at 50; and yes the test was hard. But I passed and even opened up my own business,. Now retired watching UTube crafters and doing some myself. Prayers are with you. You are “preaching to the choir”. Lol, I finally retired from teaching (my second career), to help take care of my second grandchild. After having a heart attack, the widow maker, which many knew God was there to keep me alive. I have started painting and doing crafts and have gone to a few craft show. I may not make muck but I am loving my life. I am proud of you for taking that change and believing in yourself.
