This guy was able to run 26 miles in flip flops and in pain while holding a camera and talking to us. The fact that he was *still* faster than other runners completely baffles me
It did help that because of him talking his mind was distracted from the pain because your brain can on,y focus on so many things and pain would not be the top priority even though it should be
@@JoMcMullen that’s true, but how about the holding camera part? it might help him distract the pain, but losing motion of 1 arm swinging is a big disadvantage (especially for long distance runs cuz the swinging momentum helps conserve the energy). nonetheless isaiah is a monster beating other runners haha
Doing a marathon in flip flop can be understandable but him talking anything all the time is something literally worth praising in my opinion bcz when u run Soo much u have to take deep breaths or fast breaths u can't speak literally.....
Once again hard work from Isaiah. I wasn't expecting Isaiah would do such thing again. As a side note, the flip flop sound gives a good rhythm for the maraton.
TOO EASY!! Whilst sitting here, enjoying this masterpiece of a video, I’m thinking about what else you could wear to do a marathon in… Then it hit me… slippers. With how comfortable they are, I honestly can’t see how they could fail..
True chad, I once ran in a marathon and ran so fast I teared down my leg muscles, But you are the real hero man People like me fall to not get up, but you fly once you get up
These aren't quite flip flops, they're huarache sandals (the difference is there's a heel strap). Still can be tough to run in them if you're not used to running long distances in them, especially if they have thin soles and on roads.
If anything, I think this experiment exposes how much we rely on the mechanical support of shoes instead of taking the time to develop the muscular support our bodies have the potential to provide. I wonder how your body might adapt if you continued to run in a barefoot shoe...if your calf and hip pain would diminish over time.
Yeah. I think also running in a barefoot shoes you have to step on your front part of the foot first, not on the heel, so it would create natural amortization, otherwise it can be damaging
My video recommendations "I ran a marathon in crocs" "I ran a marathon in flipflops" "I ran a marathon on LEGOs" "I ran a marathon on broken glass and rusty nails"
I am far from religous, but I appreciate you took thats guys answer of "praise the lord" and did nothing but say heck yea man. Just kinda felt wholesome, and I appreciate that.
Crocs = ✅ Flip Flops = ✅ Barefoot Shoes = Your dedication for your content is really something else Isaiah. Congrats on finishing the marathon! Even though it's not your record time, it is certainly a feat to be proud of. Thanks for inspiring many of us to continue and persevere in everything! We'll keep on cheering for you!
I went for a walk in flip flops one time. It was only for 2 miles. I had trouble walking back because I had ended up getting 7 blisters. 3 on my left foot, and 4 on my right foot. A couple opened up on the way home and I got gravel in them. It was brutal. I had to walk on the side of my feet until the blisters on heels at least flattened. I couldn’t walk properly for about 5 days. My god.
“Born to Run” by Christopher McDougall is a novel worthy of reading for people wanting to run in minimalist shoes or huarache sandals. One of my favorites
Very cool run, but those are objectively not flip flops. Those are 100% sandals. So I feel lied to. No need to lie. Just say they’re sandals. Which they are.
Those aren't flip flops they are adventure sandals and I have done this before. It is only difficult (or more difficult than a normal marathon) if you are unaccustomed to running in minimalist footwear.
I ran one marathon in my life (making bets few beers deep...) and it was very demoralizing when I got passed by a guy in full Squid game-costume on actual flip-flops. Although my respect to your achievement is immense, those aren't real flip-flops, but in fact sandals. But you are crazy for doing this nonetheless, making it look so effortless.
All the people surprised by someone running in flip flops obviously havent run too many marathons as I pretty much see someone at each race I run wearing them,I have 12 fulls and over 40 halfs and theres no chance I'm wearing flip flops.
I agree with that random runner in the video, even running barefoot sounds a lot less painful than running on flip-flops. He got an amazing time despite this severe handicap.
You know what blows my mind. This man ran a marathon in flip flops, but I just realized Markiplier meowed at a camera for over 300 million views and Isaiah has about only 1/300 of a way to tie. 😅
My asthma and i are watching this in shock. How can someone run for more than 1 minute without their chest hurts and more than 2 minutes without dying? I didn’t know humans were able to run this long…
In Taiwan, wearing flop flips is common, these flop flips called “y shaped flop flips “,if you wear right socks and dedicated “y shaped flops flips” ,I feel that is more comfortable than any other athletic shoes I wear.
