Amazing effort Robbie. Lovely to bump into you on my bike on the Royal Mile the day prior! Can relate to your face finally seeing the finish line and tucking into that pint. I managed to finish the half marathon just around my goal time! Glad you enjoyed seeing more of Edinburgh. That sandy beach is a lovely spot to be on a sunny summer evening for a swim and an ice cream.

I can't say I enjoyed reliving the entire route but i can see the same joy in your eyes at the turn at mile 18 that I did. Great to finish it Robbie. Now I've done my first think I'm gonna try Loch Ness, thats meant to be nice and easy......

3:00 switchback are my least favourite things about marathons. Running in one direction for any length of time when you see everyone coming in the opposite direction is so disheartening. Even worse if you see a pacer 30 mins in front of you pass you.

For this I used a GoPro Hero10 because it was small enough to fit in my pocket, but normally a Sony a7siii.

Knowing what pain I had to power through to bag my two half marathons, this horrific video kind of puts me off ever stepping up to the full distance. I guess it wouldn't be quite so horrific as I would put the miles in during the run-up. Went for my first run in four months last week; only 5K but my muscles were still tight two or three days later, so this big boy stuff can stay on the shelf for now...

I caught a cold on the Tuesday and I decided to start as I felt 90% it got tough for me at about 22k. It was a warm day and I couldn’t take my sixth gel as I felt nauseous. Lots of walking, 4:46 for me.

Worst marathon I’ve ever personally run 2017 and my last the heat was immense around 25 + degrees a keen breeze at times a real challenge still managed 3,13 at 45 years old never again🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
