You both did an amazing job! Congratulations on finishing your first half!!! It was great to hear your story and keep living your dreams as you only live once. This video makes me want to get back into running, injuries are the worst especially the Achilles tendon mine has never been the same since I tore it.
Thank you. I'm glad I didn't have a serious injury. I watch a lot of sports, and theres a lot of Achilles injuries that people never come back from. Blowing it out was my biggest fear, but letting it recover for the 2 weeks was just enough time to be ok. If you get back into running, I know Alyssa will be back in vegas next year for sure!
Well done man. You've been dealt some crazy challenges this past year and I was impressed with how you are making the most of it. Well done on finishing and perceiving when times get tough. I ran the half as well and I love all the spots you captured. Take care of that Achilles. It can get a lot worse if not rested and treated. I had it bad After my first marathon and it took several months to get rid of. It may be worth a treatment or two from a physical therapist as well. Hope you make it back next year. I've done the race every year since 2009. It's a fun one. Best wishes to you and cool video!
Thank you. Achilles is feeling good now. Resting it beforehand as soon as I originally hurt it, was absolutely the right move. I've seen so many Achilles injuries watching sports, and really hurting it wa my absolute worst fear. My cousin actually tore her Achilles a few years ago training to run a full marathon, and she told me she's never been the same since. I definitely didn't want that. Also my sister has already had one physio appointment since the race, and has another one booked for "dry needing" on her hip. The physio told her not to run for at least 4 weeks, so comparatively I came out pretty good 😂
Congratulations on your 1st half marathon. Keep up the great work. Saw myself in your video. Just before the start line by the bridge, I am the holding the Insta360 OneRS 1". I saw you and another guy using the Gopro Max recording.
That's awesome man, good job. As for the lifes direction stuff, they say sometime you need to be lost to truly find your path, struggles breed perspective and new opportunities
Thanks Frank. I appreciate your positivity, that's definitely the way I'm looking at it. It was so easy to just keep doing what you're doing, but when it gets taken away, it gives you some real time to think about what you want to do.
I Went To Vegas Once And Will Never Go Again! That Trip Sucked For So Many Reasons! First: My Feet Hurt So Bad Just Walking From Casino To Casino Etc. Something About The Cement Makes You In Tears From The Pain So I Was Happy To Sit At a Slit Machine As It Ripped My Off and Cleaned Out My Pockets, Second: Landing In Vegas My Ears Felt Like Someone Stabbed Both My Ears With Ice Picks and Lasted Like 3 Hours! Third: I Finally Found A Slot Machine That Started Paying Off When The Staff Came And Said They Had To Shut Down My Machine FOR MAINTENANCE? It's Been Many Years But I Will Never Forget The Pain In My Feet From That Trip! I Had 3 Pair Of Comfortable Shoes But All Of Them Had The Same Result! Its The Pavement Or Something? I At The Time Spent 13 Hour Shifts On My Feet On Concrete Floors and Never Had That Problem! I Was Happy To Be Home Again And Landing At Logan But Same Thing and Even Worse The Ice Picks In My Ears and Empty Pockets! So I Have A New Saying About Vegas! (What Ever Money You Bring To Vegas Stays In Vegas) NEVER EVER AGAIN!
Honestly, I'm not that big of a fan of Las Vegas either. The whole place is just kind of have me weird vibes. Everything and everyone is there to take your money from you. I don't gamble, and I don't really drink, although I did have a few, and I'm not really a guy that goes to live shows, so there's nothing really there for me. My sister is already signed up for the next years half marathon again, but I'm definitely not that interested in going back that soon. I also know exactly what you're talking about with the sore feet. We were down by the start line with a couple hours to kill, and I had my shoes off because my feet were already sore. I was actually worried about having to run on my already sore feet, but they weren't really a problem, everything else was instead😂
Wow, congratulations, but, I don’t think that was a good idea, you’re probably very sore now, but, you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope your ok Jordan 👍
Thanks Ron! I agree that it wasn't a good idea. I hurt pretty bad for 3 days, and then 2 more days I was a little sore in my joints still, now 5 full days later I feel normal again. I'm going to do a real workout today for the first time since the run.
