An important note about snipers is that the large areas make them safe even if you're not moving as much, because the sheer distance lets you easily spot incoming projectiles and you can corner peek to pixel hunt enemies. Also, buddy bots at level 1 maintain their value through the whole game because they're great damage sponges. Then just dump all the power cells into your other weapon.
Bro, in the footage using the kunai you hitted the wall like 4 times. The kunai is one of the best weapons in the game, crits are good in many builds and classes, you just gotta... Get good. Try a ricochet elemental build or a marked revolver build, or a stealth strike build, there's a lot of options but u gottq hit ur shots
same tbh, a lot of weapons are great but just take some skills, shark sniper is like this and it's basically my favourite weapon, all it need is to hit crits and it absolutely slaps, constant around 2k damage, even in higher difficulties
Next video should be what “good affixes” are. Whenever I’m rerolling I honestly don’t know what to even hope for on my weapons lol. The obvious shits obvious but if I have a good gun with a dead perk and a few cells. I want to now if it’s worth keeping 20% auto crit beam or rerolling for anything else I can get
So! I watched this video when it came out, then bought and played roboquest for a couple months, now revisiting it; I don't necessarily disagree with the placements, I know that this is all mostly a matter of opinion, but on that note, I. LOVE. The torpedo launcher. It might have to do with just loving missiles in general, but a gatling rocket launcher is pretty fucking awesome, even more so if you can give it fork and a few other things. I just- I love that gun SO much. It might not be that good, but I always make room for it because I always have so much fun with it. I'm still not very good at the game, of course, but ultimately, I'm having a good time.
Shark sniper is the Mr potential of the game imo. It may not be good for most classes, but ranger with increased crit/ crit richochet, and javelin throw to reload make it a beast for boss fights and if you bring a crowd control weapon or something like a legendary buddybot for crowd control it can shred. And you don’t need to use scope for hit because the hop fire is 100% accurate.
I am relatively new to the game, but I found a good fire Valkyrie last night that made the moon easy mode. I don't remember the affixes, but 95% of mobs dropped in a single 3-shot burst. The elite mobs were dead before the first reload. The supreme accuracy and lack of jitter allowed me to stay on the crit spots constantly.
Have to disagree with the kunai being in dropping immediately tier. This thing has the highest crit multiplier in the game, like you mentioned. Sure, its base damage sucks, but hitting crit spots one shots any enemy in canyons. Sure, not every enemy have crit spots for you to hit, but if you hit your shots, 6 shots in the chamber, that’s 6 dead high priority targets dead, which is basically a room’s entire threats gone. The high crit multiplier means you can pump the damage numbers so high very consistently, and you speed through bosses because every boss in the game has relatively easy to hit crit spots. A ranger run picking up kunai of any rarity in canyons means consistent canyon and stage 2. Kunai has the highest skill ceiling in the game, so it’s spot on the tier list really depends on your skill. However, unlike other weapons in the drop immediately tier, kunai actually greatly rewards good aim and good target prioritization. What if you don’t want to aim? No problem! Cryo mastery engineer makes kunai a god tier brain dead killing machine, though granted cryo mastery engi is busted in general. This is the only thing I disagree with you on the video. Otherwise good tier list. Keep it up 👍
I have to agree with on the kunai. Ranger with a full crit + ricochet build clears areas with a few shots. By the end of a run, you'll be doing over 2.5 - 3k dmg per crit. It's actually stupid. Also the cryo engineer is probably the best build in the game. If had runs where i've gotten phase 2 Iris down to half HP before she even gets up off the ground (on Guardian 4).
Bandito gun and snipers are extremely underrated since its so easy to no-scope,just take a bandito or sniper and a shotgun like the behemoth shotgun with you and if you have good aim,its an easy win. Literally one-shot every thing and melt bosses
Dude, I agree with the hellions being in their own tier, if you build them just right, you could be freeze-shocking everything out of existence, just now I beat my first run, with corrupted rarity level 14 freewheel hellions and a level 13 freewheel shock blunderbuzz, with a mostly cryo engineer build, and I gotta say, both cryo engineer and dual hellions are STUPID FUN
ill be honest, i love explosives NOT for their damage or AOE, but for the fact that i can rocket jump with them allowing me to reposition to anywhere i need to be far faster. hell i beat the "room is full of explosive bots and you have a really short time limit" chalenge room with seconds to spare specificly cause the launcher i was using allowed me to get some really good speeds. damage is secondary to me.
I think it speaks to to how well the game is balanced that I completely disagree with a fair few of these, but neither of us are wrong. Depends on how you want to play. Best game I've played in a long time. 10/10
I love the mine layer. Its a garbage weapon to get all the way through with, so much pain. But its also so much fun popping around a corner, laying down a field of mines then ducking back around the corner and watching a shower of damge numbers through the wall, then stepping back to a room full of green orbs and broken bots.. Two weapons you put in trash tier are my favourite. Mine layer and sentry with engie. Drop a sentry, throw some mines in and let all your robots do the work. In saying that, theres nothing more exciting than finding that golden buzzsaw.
This may just be personal preference but if I'm watching a tier list I expect to be shown the item and then have the ranking come afterward. Aside from that, great video. Very informative.
Dude u have no idea how much I appreciate this tier list omg before I was struggling to find a balance between survivability and dps and that S-rank Guardian IV achievement nearly drove me insane. I literally just got it because I got lucky and rolled Dual Hellion and Razor Launcher I had no idea they were this powerful thanks a lot my friend you're a legend
For me, the Windmill is a must for me. I’ve finished all difficulties on S tier except for Guardian 4 which I finished A tier. I used 2 Windmills for that run haha. Orbital Shotgun is also god tier. I only realised it’s full potential when I picked up a Fantastic one and my god it’s ruthless
Here's the thing abput critical damage. Maybe consistently hitting a pawn in the eye is a bit difficult, but you know what isn't? Hitting the bosses ENORMOUS weakspots. Shark sniper may be slow, but it can delete bosses in seconds.
LOL I love using the Shredder and Powerfists on my Recon bot playthroughs since they can teleport, they can cover the distance without getting damaged; when I need distance attacks I use the Gorilla Bolter :P
I would also add that the bandito gun can be a run winner. I personally, playing ranger look for a uncommon Bandito gun as my main stay weapon for guardian 4.
People dont realize youre talking from a guardian perspective. You have to focus SO much more on defense and dodging in guardian difficulties. Dealing damage easier without worrying about precision will just win more runs.
I can't support putting kunai in dropping immediately if you are play cryo engineer the crits on a fork kunai go absolutely bonkers even without fork it's insane my first completion was hard carried by kunai so I cant see anything below reading affixes
Almost every gun in the game COULD win a run. I definitely agree that if offered the right perks kunai could carry a run but I couldn’t see that happening consistently enough for me to want to take it
Good list. I would have added an additional tier between Really good even without ideal affixes and Will read affixes called " They can slap if you build towards them". Most explosive guns would be in this tier list.
Alright, so I challenge myself to fire to the beat, much like in the game BPM (Bullets Per Minute) though there is not a penalty for missing the beat at least. I would love someone to mod rhythm based mechanics into the game because HOLY SHIT the soundtrack ABSOLUTELY slaps! It goes harder than it has ANY right to, and I love it.
I feel your underrating Buddy Bot, Fox Pistol, Raptor SMG, and Quasar SMG (Personal Fave). Buddy bot and one of the other afore mentioned weapons are top tier. Plus 20-30% secondary damage is a huge boost to dps. Also all classes have an elemental secondary ability made even better just having buddy bot along. He's a great decoy too. Also the combo doesn't care what your class or build is.
I'm surprised he ranked the Blunderbuzz so highly, its honestly one of my least favorite shotguns and definitely lower than Orbital, Grandma, and double sawed off for me.
Personally I feel like Orbital and Blunderbuzz fill the same sort of role, I find them to be basically on par. I always prefer those two to the grandma's, they just feel better for wiping out crowds
dragon morter is my go-to weapon, but very a skill dependent - in require not only aiming, but rocket jumping as well and than you can win the final boss with it, otherwise - you suffer.
flare gun is useful if you use it for rocket jumping, shooting while looking straight down sends you flying forwards and you can carry that speed by bhopping
i also disagree with your placement for the kramer, it deals good upfront damage like every other fire weapon in the game (not sure why you criticized it for that but not other guns), and since it's a flamethrower it's basically a piercing shotgun version of the junk beam so it's a good option for clearing rooms also igniter has seeker built in if you didn't notice, makes fork / shotgun affixes really strong and makes the gun good for both room clearing and bosses
Every weapon requires a different way of playing with them, I personally love the revolver, it’s such a cool weapon. The only weapon that can kill you tho is the rifles, they try to force you into a slow gameplay but this way of playing will completely change in bosses and if you’re not used to dodge everything, you won’t kill the last bosses
While I do like Grandma’s Shotgun, the Ram Shotgun (for whatever reason just seems to be better for crits. I feel like I never know if I’m getting a crit with the grandma.
I have the feeling that you are more of a bullet hose kid of guy rather than an aiming guy. I prefer slower, high single damage guns for that sweet sweet dopamine while hitting weakspots Specially with some guns that can do 1000+ damage in a shot. I understand that they may not necessarily be "Run optimized" But that's fine, 'cause I'm not a speed runner or any kind of runner. I just play games to feel good.

18:19 I only played Flaregun in the Speedrun Level to propell myself into the air. But its probably used best with a lot of swapping. Not like shown in the video to finish the enemy off itself.
The Kaboom grenade is absolutely a great weapon, you are just not good with it. Try a elementalist explosion build, the kaboom grenade carried me through the whole game

Id like to disagree with the hornet bow ranking. Reading affixes is what gave me the weapon that took me and a buddy to the moon for my first time. The damage CHUNKED a boss that was otherwise kicking our asses. That hornet bow did so much goddamn damage i thought i was hallucinating And i was a hater on that thing before that occasion. I HATE the bow weapons usually, as they fire too slow or their projectiles are meh. Tr hornet bow is my one exception after that occasion- as even without crits it was a boss crunching MACHINE
I actually have to disagree with the explosions not being great in general take, my favorite and best run was using commando perking into explosive shorty explosive mark and baby boom picking up every explosive item i could fine and running the buffalo canon and dual bomsticks and just mopped the damn floor with robot tears with how much genocide i committed it was ridiculous.
Bro, learn to aim, sniper rifles are OP, and mantis crossbow literally carried me into guardian IV. The ability to 1-shot any enemy (if you can crit that is, if you can't then skill issue) and do decent damage to bosses easily outweighs the slow fire rate. Also, fun fact: YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE SCOPE
I disagree with so many things on this list. If you can aim high crit multiplier weapons can get SUPER strong. My tierlist would look almost opposite of yours for that reason, but maybe thats the ranger main talking. That said dual helions are goated.
I personally am not very good, but can tell i have a bit more experience than u do (not to be a douchebag, but u did say u cant beat guardian 4 without distractions), and off the bat i have to disagree with the valkyrie rifle pick, as the high accuracy, high attack speed and good crit multiplier allows it to be very good with most builds (especially elemental ones) pretty much at gray rarity. In general, i think ur going into this completely wrong, as in order to rank the guns properly u would have to include cases where u actively seek the gun and build around it from the very start, include all the guns that become top tier with a single blue affix and all that.

Melee weapons are only useful in one case. Killing bots that do not drop sells. And usually those bots (Except the explosive bots) are fodder and easy to kill.
Yeah no you definitely can beat g4 without a deaggro help such as drones, buddybot, or the sentry. I beat it with gaurdian, engineer, and commando (global s rank).
