At first I thought this was a stupid idea, but after seeing it on wrist, it's fantastic. Definitely something different and on that strap it really is phenomenal.
I discovered Brandon's bezelless Rolex. Great! I transformed 4 watches into bezelless. They all look much better and I love the watches. An MWC P656 tianium was a hell of a job. I have missbuse it with several tools. First soft try and progressing to the missbuse with a hammer. I dare to do it, because I discovered in this job how strong titanium is. The hammer failed. Than I bougth a small pulley puller and finished the job. Some very very small damage. This MWC is now what I wanted!
A new classic is born. I would. I loved that video so much, it was like watching a master chef at work. The way they handled every element was so effortless and perfect, it was like they were dancing with the ingredients. And the final product was an absolute masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds singing. I'm so glad I watched that video, it was an experience I won't soon forget.
Looks cool! Maybe instead of a metal pry bar, maybe a thick guitar pick to prevent scratching? Also, regarding springbar tweezers/tools, what would you recommend?
@@sc1 they are not of the highest quality, but they go on almost everything. I like to wear them on dressy watches in summer. For the price it is a no-brainer.
And now where’s the GMT hand pointing at ? Is not an 1675 , so the dial looks very diferent than Brando’s watch . mm … scratching the lug and the SEL for that , at least you could have use the proper bezel-removing tool , that surely a watchmaker near your home had .
I suppose a 'thanks' is in order for your experiment. I would have taken the watch to a Rolex certified watchmaker to remove the bezel. In 1979 this watch cost a mere bag of shells to Brando, and Brando being Brando, I can understand why he did this. I am the 'caretaker' of a 1960 vintage Rolex GMT Master and I would never do this to such a fine watch.
I don't think it's just that the GMT bezel was removed on Brando's watch. I believe a flat stainless bezel was installed in its place. Fun mod, though. I am considering getting a GMT Master homage and trying this mod. If I owned the real deal, I certainly wouldn't mod it, I'd just wear it as is. Plenty of homages to built this mod on.👍
Good idea ! You were doing great to you completely screwed it up. That strap killed your whole process. Get a 30.00 Tropic style FMK rubber Strap or Tropic Strap from Tropic themselves. (70.00) That's basically what Brando used of the period. That's what would be the choice for the SE Asia jungle. The later issued versions of the MACV -Sog Seiko's were fitted with these straps. Nylon was used in some cases. Your conversion will look awesome and basically correct on a Rubber "Tropic" dive strap in black. thanks
I own it. It’s actually very short. I have a 6.75” wrist and I consider it short on me…. I really only got it cuz I’m a movie fan. I sometimes pair it with my Seiko Willard..
