I’m in a bit of a slump and I think I only finished one book (Howl’s Moving Castle, which was a reread and I still enjoyed it!), but I just started She Who Became the Sun and it’s really good so far!
So happy you enjoyed Firekeeper’s daughter, Kristin! I totally agree with your assessment, as well. Also, hello, Fantasy! That it so absolutely amazing that you wrote your book in July! So proud! Congrats again!
Fire Keeper's Daughter sounds so good! I'm so glad that A Darker Shade of Magic meant so much to you :) I can't wait to hear what you think of the second book! I had a bit of a slower reading month in July - not sure why! I've only read about half of the books on my monthly TBR, but I've decided to just sort of embrace that and take it as a sign to take it easy in August and just mood read mostly (and our buddy read, of course!!). Loved this video! :)
Yes, definitely look at the content warnings for Firekeeper's Daughter first, but it's absolutely beautiful! I hope you'll love it! And yes, we're reading The Near Witch this month, correct? :)
So glad to hear that you liked A Darker Shade of Magic!! It's one of my fave fantasies and was the book that got me into the genre, too! Great video, can't wait for the next (:
Hello! Lovely to hear from you :) and wow.! It truly is a special book, isn't it? I can't believe it's the one that got you into fantasy as well. thank you so much :)
I read about 1800 pages in July (5 books). My favourite read was Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I did also enjoy The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (I noticed you have read it too). I thought the story was missing something, but despite it, this story felt magical, I keep returning to the characters and some bits of the story... Would absolutely love to read other books by this author! And can't wait for the final book in the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series! Firekeeper's Daughter is on my TBR, and I'll add The Forest of Vanishing Stars to the list as well! :) I'm all for uniqueness in books!!
You had a great reading month! I agree. The Forgotten Garden is such a magical, atmospheric read. It looks you have a great reading month planned next, as well!
Hi, Kelly! I totally understand not being into You! There’s so much to hate about it 😂 and thank you so much! Firekeeper’s Daughter is really so special! I hope you’ll enjoy it!
haha, I totally get you. I really love ebooks because I can curl up on my side and read them, but for hardcovers/paperbacks I have to kinda. . . be upright!
