Yay, glad you are keeping this series going. Truth be told, the next one Prince Lestat was a fun ride. Definitely had QOTD vibes but tons of new characters that might lose some readers.

Lestat just didn't sound like Lestat to me. I don't think he had never spoken before like he was speaking in this entry. Not what he was saying, but how he was saying it. It took me out of it.

my little Loustat heart was like personally offended every time it came up that Lestat had never loved anyone like this before lol But like, it does sound true so. Thank you for the video! I love your vampire chronicles series. I'm slowly making my way through the books but honestly don't know if I'll finish all of them, so really enjoy you helping make some sense of this overcomplicated series as a whole.

Did you watch the tv series first? I just thought coz you used Loustat. The series fans do that a lot. I don’t think the got the series right. It’s ok, enjoyable, just not Anne Rice for me

@@candyvanityheals7715 Loustat was their ship name long before the show ever came along. And they are a couple in the books too, especially after Anne finally came to her senses and basically retconned Blackwood Farm and Blood Canticle. The show is far more true to the books than any of the movies, and Anne signed off on it since she was the one who sold the rights to AMC and was an executive producer on the project before her passing. it's fine to not like the show, but I find it so ridiculous that book fans love you claim it's not Anne Rice when it was her project, one she had been working on for decades before she passed. Moreover, you not even knowing that Loustat is canon shows that you're the one who doesn't understand these books and these characters, so idk why you think you're somehow superior or more knowledgeable than the show fans. Sorry for the long rant but book purists unfairly shitting on the show like this just pisses me off.

I didn’t mind the breaking of the fourth wall here for two reasons: 1. In the story the books are written by the vampires and Lestat is vain enough to complain about the poor reception of his written work. 2. I LOVED Memnoch the Devil as a part of the series and minor spoiler alert The whole Memnoch deal is discussed and explained in the last three books of the series.

I'm SO interested to see if any of this storyline plays out on AMC. For starters one or both of the series have to last long enough. Then if that happens they have to weigh the pros and cons of adapting it; big in-universe team-ups are all the rage, but fans really didn't like how it played out in the books. Anne Rice also kind of retconned it with the newer books. They could also opt to do a crossover that's a totally original. Possibilities!!!

Rowan would be 37-38 at this point. Lestat also loved older women (Gabrielle, his mother and fledgling, was 50, and Gretchen was 40). The vampiric transformation would probably rejuvenate her a bit.

I do! I actually recapped all the episode of Interview and Mayfair Witches on here. In the book Lestat was turned when he was about 20 years old so I picked a younger looking actor. But the TV show version is pretty great too.

Is it just me or does the reflection of the flags in the background in the wine glass make it look like the lady is drinking gold fish. Trust me once you see it you can't unsee it.

I didn't read it yet, but I actually hated the Rowan thing, mostly because it was the fucking end of the series for fucking 10 years. It's because I always loved Loustat? Maybe. But I felt a little personal offended by the "first time in his entire Immortal life he loved someone like this, and the object of this "real love" it's a woman- sounded to me like bisexual persons only would true love people of it's "opposite" gender, even if they had have loved people of them same gender before. {also looks like I had to read Mayfair Witches and I don't really want to} But since we had 3 more books, my hope still lives that Lestat would endgame someone else, if not Louis, FUCKING SOMEONE ELSE I'M BEGGING (Sorry if I'm making a storm at glass of water, but it really upsets me)

I kind of took it like he finally cared about someone else’s life enough to not make them into a vampire. He realized it was selfish of him to do that to someone he loved.
