Hey Leslie, I thought you weren't doing tags--but since you are, please consider doing the original tag I created with Ruben last week. It's called 'Beauty in Books Tag', I made a playlist for people to find each other, it's pretty fun. I love Fitzgerald and Atwood, but I understand their books are on the plot-driven side, as they focus more on technique and prose.

@@TheLinguistsLibrary Hey lovely! I'm thinking of doing one tag a month. I definitely flip flops on that decision. 🙃 And yes, you bring up a good point, if a story lacks plot, but is character driven then I'm completely sucked in. I'll save your recent tag to do at the beginning of October ❤️

Oh my goodness, spot-on for pointing out that Abdurraqib's book would be fantastic on film.

That is why I've never read it!! I mean, I loved English class and getting to read novels for homework, but I sort of default to staying away from the school canon... I need to get over it; it's been 20 years!

@@bethannebruninga-socolar Well, if you don't read it, the movie is worth a peak. There's a scene where actor Russell Wong eats a melon. I think I lost my innocence as a teen when I saw that scene 😹 & I'll never see melons the same way again.
