Glad you liked it! Not gonna lie it’s kinda a pride thing where I don’t like ever asking people for money, but with some new companies I have coming up I’ll do one just to get people some exclusive content
Yes it is wrong for women to ever be in the Sanctuary during the Mass that includes being lectors. Lector is a minor order reserved for men along with acolyte and deacon. Women *are* supposed to silently pray the Mass from the pews and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I don’t really see a major problem with it, but then again I’m also a proud Novus Ordo Mass-goer. Deacon I agree, but priests are also never supposed to do the homily, only deacons, so some things have changed
Technically the Missal (I dont know about the GIRM) is vague as to if the deacon or priest should do the homily. Also Minor Orders were ended by Pope Paul VI (I think it was him) and reduced to the "ministries" or Lectors and Acolyte. In both cases these are steps towards becoming a priest or deacon, and so historically were reserved to men. The Lectors is charged with doing the readings, and the Acolyte is meant to be the Altar Server/Extrordinary Minister of Holy Communion, however since there are rarely enough of either present, we usually have fully lay people fill the vacancies creating the positions of "Reader" (often improperly called Lector), Altar Server, and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
Rise up Jerusalem oh I only attend Latin Mass. I attended the Novus Ordo for 26 of my 28 years of life. The past two years of discovering the Latin Mass have been sooo refreshing. There’s so much wrong with the Novus Ordo and really it doesn’t have much that the Latin Mass does not have. Women should NOT have roles at Mass. The priest should be facing the tabernacle for the entire Mass.
