15:50 I feel you girl. the ending of the raven king was a lot. I litterally cried because of how much I love neil and how much he had to be through oh my god. I heard some people complaining about nora didn't really describe neil's life in the nevermore but I would've lost my shit if she'd gone like deeper in all that violence I swear

god, the all for the game series has so many flaws and I WOULD DIE FOR IT. i had to actually put the book down so many time while reading the raven king and screamed while reading the kings men. The writing isn't even great BUT I ATE IT UP. EVERY LAST BIT. "And as you’ve always said, you want nothing"?!?! YEAH. ATE IT UP. MY PINTEREST BOARD HAS 1K PINS NOW FOR AFTG.....

I've been wanting to read this forever and I just did and girl, same!! I didn't expect to love it but then I read the whole series in 5 days and I'm obsessed like I just went back and bought the audiobooks so now I can listen to them while I pretend to be productive cause I literally lost 5 days just reading all day.... but I can't stop thinking about Andreil 😭

The thing I love the most about the series is that it just continues to get better. Like the first book was slow for me and I usually skip it when I reread, but the books climb in my heart everytime

N I C E. this triggered my anual reread of all for the game (yes they are my comfort books, at least my live is not as messy as neil josten's) also there is a very old tumblr post about how a foxhole court musical would go and hit songs such as "im fine" and "im fine (reprise)", great minds think alike

It was so funny to see your reactions through the reading because I also read this serie for the first time one or two months ago and I had almost the same reactions haha I started it without knowing anything about the books except the story was about sports and there was a cute m/m pairing (except I was wrong, they're not /exactly/ cute) and al the tw took me by surprise... Just wow. But I really enjoyed it, I LOVE every trope that Nora touched and also THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

These books combine some of my favourite tropes and guilty pleasures. Found family, angst, secret identity, secret scars, did i mention angst, tragic backstories, the gay, self-sacrificing idiots, the ASEXUAL REP?! It was a wild ride. The best part is that I also didn't know what I was getting into at all. I thought it would be a fluffy, vaguely gay found family sports book where they play some cricket and talk about feelings and queer bait. I was WRONG! This was years ago, there weren't any memes or trigger warnings i could've stumbled across to give me a heads up 😂 Honestly, I probably wouldn't have read it had I seen the warnings beforehand. It really depends on how it is handled in the story for me, I usually err on the side of caution. Let's just say, Aaron's reaction was very cathartic. When you asked "do i like Andrew now?" I vibed with that so hard. I couldn't read him at all in the first 1,5 books. Still don't know what to think tbh. I just know that I'd be so f-ing scared of him irl. I do know that I don't like Nicky.

I just finished reading the books and I'm so frustrated by the fact that many of the characters love to just not communicate at all. Other than that, I was pretty much re-traumatized by everything in the book and relating to my past traumas (I forgot to look at trigger warnings). It also made my cry a few times and it felt like someone pierced a hole through my heart :) I thought I could handle this, but I barely made it out alive

one thing I noticed about the writing style is that sakavic uses character names A Lot when describing anything UNLESS she's writing a game, then the number of character names is dropped and it makes it feel more fast paced. I only noticed this because I've been reading the series out loud to my partner (he's dyslexic and loves the series more than me so far, mostly because it reflects his own trauma and he relates heavily to many characters)

Nicky is irredeemable. I know a lot of people love him but I just don’t get it. This series really does well with detailing verbal consent later on but there was no time or energy spent on catharsis around Nicky getting his due or at least growing as a person - probably the one thing I can’t excuse in these books.

i've thought a lot about how the emails would work because they would be duets but alex would have very fast melodies and patter songs for his whereas henry's would be more legato and ballad-y, so when the two would come in unison it'd be very interesting. I also think it would be a musical theme throughout the first act that alex sings faster than henry, so that way in act 2 there could be a very interesting moment where they switch melodic styles.

Act Two ends right when the emails get released. And you KNOW the karaoke bar night was MADE for a musical number. Like... literally it already was.
