@@teeen3486I didn’t read it that way at all. I think they were just saying there aren’t a lot of people doing that. For some people, they would prefer one genre. So it’s not a good vs bad thing. And I don’t see shunning mentioned anywhere.
@@teeen3486 who hurt you lol? There was no comparison or shunning in that comment at all. You’re the one going on the attack when all they did was complement the original creator without mentioning anyone else. They didn’t even say anything is wrong with sticking to one genre or booktok either, yet you’re the one being condescending and saying “you lot” like this community are all meanies. The victim mentality is strong in this one 🤧
RF Kuang actually did get a hugeeeee book deal while she was still a college student almost like athena in yellow face!!! she’s so talented and i saw something she wrote about having pressure to have her sophmore work and future stuff live up to the insane success of her first book series
i read the first book and loved it but then i read the second and it wasn’t my favorite. is book three better? i want to continue the series but i don’t want to get bored
I started watching your videos last year and I feel like your reviews or discussions about books as a whole has gotten even better. You really explain techniques that writers use to make their stories interesting. Thanks for sharing!
if you liked 'Emily Wild's Encyclopedia of Faeries,' you should pick up 'A Far Wilder Magic'. I've heard very little talk about it online, and it deserves so much more fanfare. It's a cozy light fantasy that does a really good job in the romance and character department. I desperately need more people to talk about it. Thank you for coming to my ted-talk.
would have never fallen in love with reading without you!! my shelves are filled with your recommendations love your videos so much Haley! Started my book channel because of watching your videos all the time ⭐️💕✨
I'd say definitely read the second Emily Wilde book, it's a lot more focused on their relationship I think and Emily also seems a lot more confident in herself which is nice to see 🍄❄️
I’ve been thinking of listening to the Yellowface audiobook for a while, so it was so perfect to hear you talk about it! These videos are so fun for me and I love the feeling of watching book videos and then reading. Thank you Haley💖
All of your book recommendations and reviews are the thing that got me into books for the first time. Thank you so much! I can go a hard 3 hours just reading, not picking up my phone because of your videos. Keep it up!❤
I am not sure if you will see this but I want to thank you for pushing my to read again. I just recently started to read again and I find so much joy in it. I do struggle when it comes to reading and always lose my confidence that it makes me hate reading. Unfortunately I am almost 26 and struggle with a learning disability which is emberassing say the least for reading. I am only a 5th grader level when it comes to reading which makes it so hard for me. But watching booktokers and book RU-vidrs has encouraged me to read a lot more. And I been pushing myself with these big ass books cause I refuse to let this effect my love of reading. So thank you to all the book people on here. And if you struggle when it comes to reading just know y'all got this we don't give up here. Much love I will continue reading I read 6 books so far in the month of January and I plan on to keep going.
I loved the wishing game and just reccomended it in my spring reads video ! im glad you liked it as much as i did. I hope to have my videos as entertaining as your vids some day, You are one of the reasons i got the confidence to start a booktube and fell back in love with reading ! xx
Hey Haley !! If you want to read more fantasy, I highly recommend The City of Brass (Deavabad trilogy). It's overall a great story with engaging characters, politics, wordbuilding and a thrilling plot. I also heard that you like low spice romance and this book very much has it as the love interest is religious and stuff :) I really think you would enjoy it ! Love from France ❤
Hey Haley! I stumbled across your videos in December and they have honestly helped me get back into reading. If haven’t read “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney then I would definitely recommend that one! The audiobook is fantastic!
This book series it’s hard to come by because it’s discontinued, but I recommend Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. I read it in fourth grade and I loved it, warning though it’s kind of depressing.
thank you so much Haley you were the one who got me into reading!! And some of my fav books I’ve read because you liked them!! Like batter than the movies and the summer I turned pretty series❤❤
Loved The Wishing Game and I did enjoy Yellowface too. I was hesitant to read Yellowface thinking it was going to be a complex book, but it wasn’t. The audiobook was fun to listen too as well. Emily Wildes books are on my list too. I haven’t read Cresent city yet…still working on KOA and then I will read the ACOTAR books, so may be awhile for me to read them. 😂 Hope you’re feeling better!
Did you read Howl's moving castle already? It's like a cozy fantasy BUT with high stakes (aka Sophie's curse and the whole Prince gone missing thing) and it's so witty and cute... One of my all time favs
The second Emily Wilde book is even more amazing and has all the charming vibes with good adventure and romance!!! I felt the same way as you about the first, trust me read the second!! Emily and Wendell live in my mind rent-free now
The Emily Wilde book is definitely a good read. It may be cozy fantasy only in that it does not spend chapters on world building. Also, the human realm plays an important role. So if you wish to see how both coexist, this is the book for you.
Hi Haley, I love your channel because it is what got me back into reading! I also have a series recommendation for you! It is Middle Grade....But I think it's kind of on the line between YA and Middle Grade. Anyways, it's a Middle Grade fantasy series that's pretty high stakes, has well written characters (imo), pretty fast-paced, and a good, complex plot! Oh, and a little bit of romance lol! The series is called Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger, and it kinda gives Harry Potter vibes in a way. I hope you'll check it out!
