I like the juxtaposition of the balloons usually seen as something light, colorful and whimsical. But as burdens, they’re black and they weigh him down over the time of the song. Happens in this one where the burdens tire him out enough for him to just curl up in his safe space. In Leave Me Alone he moves slower and slower as the song goes. Even has his fans pushing him towards the end at one point

I get where you are coming from. I was just seeing a reaction to Roundabout in which there were so many stops to comment on details that it felt like the whole was not being perceived. On the other hand, if you watch reactions, you expect the host(s) to react. Sometimes that involves stopping. This one had no breaks at which to comfortably stop. How Could You Leave Us and Mama both have natural stopping places and commentary on the lyrics is called for.
NF is another one of those special humans that will probably never even know how much he really helped people no matter how much people say it or how many listeners, views he gets, etc because he’s so humble
If you're planning on doing this whole album, definitely be mentally prepared. It's a very dark album. I whole-heartedly believe it's one of the best albums of the last 10 years, but I can't really listen to it anymore, myself. It came during a point in my life where I unfortunately related strongly to it. Thankfully, I don't anymore, but if I'm not careful, listening to it can kind of drag me back there. Just be mentally prepared for that.

You're absolutely right. NF's REALMUSIC can change people's lives. To share a quick story, I was at the MOTTO video shoot and they had a girl that had went up to Nate and showed him a tattoo that she said she got as a reminder that his music saved her life. His music was the spark she needed to get help after going through issues after being raped. She was suicidal. Everyone there was in tears and everyone hugged and consoled her and thanked her for sharing. That's the power of REALMUSIC. It was a beautiful moment of the best in people. NF'S music did that. I'll never forget that. So thank you too for sharing your journey and thoughts which is also beautiful which probably too will help othets.

really enjoy your NF reactions. I am a huge NF fan but its fun to see someone new dive into the NF journey . As its always a great thing to see NF's art being viewed by more people. But it helps when someone like yourself just does the reaction with good energy , personality and someone who is really taking in the journey.
If you believe it or not, it's hard to deny that this is NF's reflection of Exodus: out of the confines of the cell (Egypt) into the dessert, searching for Hope (promised land), knowing he still has burdens of the lies and evil that still resides in his flesh (same as the Israelites), the cart can be seen as the Ark as well.
This is my absolute favorite NF song. Mind you it was the first song of his that I had heard so it has that special place in my heart. Hope is AMAZING! But I listen to The Search at least 3 times a day at work. Great reaction as always, I can't wait to watch you continue The Journey!

I'm a metal head, myself. I do like other genres but metal is by far my favorite. Rap may very well be my least favorite genre, but I do really dig this song. The lyrics are dark but they also come across as honest and I would assume relatable to many
His shoes are his iconic Timberlands. Been wearing them for forever. I love the revisit hope after but the journey starts back at mansion. You deserved this song right now with all the hard songs you have done already. I would definitely to Leave Me Alone next which might be even better that this song. The bars on shopping cart represents the prision that nate built in the album perception. You can see the cell in the background of the video. Climbing into the cart represents a feeling of being captive or trapped again. The balloons represent burdens that we carry. White clothing represents hope and positivity, dark clothing represents poor mental health. The woman laying on the bench sleeping that he desperately tries to wake represents his mother who is at rest (rip) and highlights a desire for that relationship
Its the little things he puts in his music and everything just flows together like the Verse "I'm looking for the map to Hope, You seen it"?.. With him obviously finding the map to Hope in his Album/Song - Hope, and the verse "I don't know if I'm making movies or videos". lol Its pretty much like a movie with this story with how well its all put together. "Leave Me Alone" sheds a bit more light on the clothing. White clothing is traditional treatment via meds etc. All of the whote clothed folks in the background have fewer balloon burdens, but they just sort of wander listless. Watch the color of his clothes going forward. They get gradually lighter thanks to his own therapy via his music. You will recall Hope had him in very light gray. Not there yet, but he is working on it!

The cart is his portable cage that he carries with his burdens attached. The people in white represent good thoughts in his mind but have burdens as well. He represents fear going thru NF mind..
No no no, the white is what is put on when we ignore our Burdens. It's what goes on when one completely looses it. So, the white in the background would symbolize how faking your okay is just in the distance, and if you can't fake it, then you get the white jumpsuit so they medicate it away. This makes sense when you understand his acknowledgement to mental health, bit his fear of taking any meds that change who he is.

I came for Led Zeppelin "Since I've Been Loving You" Reaction then watched all of your Zeppelin reactions. After that I noticed you have reacted to NF and watched all of those reactions too. I told you all of that because it's rare for me to be able to watch most reactors through a whole song let alone multiple listens. You aren't so in love with your own voice and thoughts that you stop the music every 5 seconds and when you do stop you say something insightful and relevant to the music. Hold on ive just had an epiphany...ive always overlooked it but i noticed the intro "ive been dealing with some things...(im sorry) thats fine," could be acknowledging that place of blaming yourself whether its your fault or not, the "im sorry" being nate apologising to himself for not being able to sleep and having to deal with the trauma, hurt etc when none of its his fault in the first place. Just a shower thought.
There are so many great songs by NF. When I first started to listening to NF it was so therapeutic. I LOVE ur reactions to it. Her are my three recommendations for NF. 1. Bullet (About his wife and her pregnancy issues.) 2. Time (About the healing process) 3. Leave Me alone (about his OCD)

yellow shoes are just how he is, quote from grindin' : "I'm on stage, black shirt, and my Timbs You know how I do it" and i think the white represents the common solutions for mental health like medication, hence why everyone in white looks almost robotic, like their script is already written for them. he says in Only: "Am I motivated? Is my music dated? Would I be the same if I was medicated? Even therapists say I need medication I avoid it, though, because I'm scared to take it"

I have an idea that I think would be really cool! Listen to “Story” but don’t watch the music video. Just close your eyes and let him build a music video in your head. Then, right after, watch the music video and see just how damn near similar it is. He’s an amazing storyteller. I first listened to it when it released and I was driving back from a work trip. I had to actually stop listening to the album for like 5 minutes and just sit in silence. The music video is great, but I think it’s way more impactful listening to it with no video the first time. Thankfully, it’s not an emotional song, but it’ll leave you covered in goosebumps!

You should definitely listen to Drifting by him and he did a really amazing job what it's like to live with depression and anxiety. He does a really good job on how it can feel like because of your mental health issues you can sometimes feel like different from society, or how society expects you to be; almost liek you're drifting through it

Look up 3rd eye meditation music.I promise you it will help guide you through your own journey of facing things you swept under the rug. I learned about it a few months ago. It really helps change your mindset and see things more clear that were once blury.

Aileen said it all and then some. Rap is not my genre so I read the lyrics and he mentioned OCD and that's pushing his buttons and he is seeing a therapist about this. This can be devastating to his career as record companies want product now and I can now see why he had a breakdown from being pushed too hard ...he wants the product perfect and the record companies don't care but he is not going to release a product until HE knows it is perfect to him...he needs a lot of prayer as this new album Hope took a long time to get out. It is not his fault it is just how he is wired. Nate's search is coming to terms with what has been going on for a while. As Aileen very astutely saw in the symbolism at the end of the video...the white clothes are a time to close off, get help, and come out stronger and better. This takes a person of strong fortitude to realize that something is not right and I need help. Prayers are with Nate.
