Thanks for the nice review. About the FOV. Fat Shark Goggles never had a bigger FOV than little over 40°. No one ever complained about this size of FOV. So in my opinion, the FOV of the Integra absolutely makes sense. And if you reduce your FOV on the Goggles 2 by software, you gonna lose resolution. No good solution. A smaller picture with the same resolution gives you a more crisp picture. But this is just my view🙂
Remember fatsharks used to have 50 FOV back in the day on the hd2s. If you notice now most high end analog goggles with the goggles 2 form factor all have a FOV in the mid 40s for a reason. Although everyone is different generally less then 50 FOV seems to cause less eye strain and fatigue, and better clarity on the edges.
As much as I'd like to try these, it's just a bunch of money for some smaller goggles with OLED screen. I'm still happy with my V2 googles and WTF. Also I use them with the analog Adapter too. I spent the extra money on the walksnail goggles. Their 1S vtx is just a game changer for whoops and toothpicks. At the moment the V2 goggles work with the O3 and everything anyway.
@@MrTechcat thats a point. Also the V1 controller doesnt work with the O3 😆. I think most people use the v2 controller with the avata or dji fpv. For all others you'd likely pick something like a tx16s
Still a very good case for the V2, I suspect they'll be discontinued very soon if not already and replaced by the Integra as the "cheaper" option. A perfect set of glasses would be the V2 with OLED displays and the image processor of the Goggles 2/Integra.
@@Mangorille yes, I'm using V2 too. I could not even use Goggles 2 as they simply do not fit and hurt my eyes with distorted image. But it's sad that DJI does not update V2 and old air units to work with the same remote.
@@MrTechcat Ya, DJI is not a company known for backwards compatibility, they want to move you over to the latest product. I moved off their remote controller after seeing this mentality.
Generally that’s the experience with both new goggles from DJI. They made them too small so only fit a small range of face shapes well. The rest are all compromises.
Check out the FOV comparison link in the video description. The smaller FOV makes the image displayed in the goggles smaller and fine details more difficult to see.
What do you think of the touchpad on the Goggles 2? I have the blurry edges on the Googles 2 but it's out in the periphery so not as big of an issue during actual flight.
@Mangorille You don't notice a difference. Because the googles 2, the way the magnifier glass works, the edges are blurred anyways. I found i had to shrink the screen on googles 2, to get rid of the blurred edges. I flew on the other side of a Boulder the size of a 2 story house, with Integra, not even a blip. Yet my goggles 2 breaks up randomly 200 to 400m out, even with the upgraded antenna. Dunno why they are still producing goggles 2. It's the down grade.
Absolutely garbage . Returned my goggles 2 due to blurring. Usable fov is ridiculously small. Same problems on integra. I stay with my rc n2 and tripletek 9pro .
Blurry edges is a known problem and impacts the goggles 2 more due to its wider FOV. DJI went too small on the form factor and it makes it very difficult for the goggles to accommodate all face shapes. I haven't been able to get it perfect but I did have better experience using the upgrade foam padding from DJI. There are different pads made by iflight as well that some have had good experience with. Unfortunately it's all trial and error as it depends very much on face shape so what works well for me most likely won't work for you. Anyone that asks, I suggest they try these on before buying or at least buy from somewhere with a decent return policy.
I just got the iFlight V2 wide foam for the goggles 2 and coming from someone who had tried all the different foam replacements, it's the most comfortable one so far. I'll definitely try out DJI's V2 faceplate as well when it becomes available.
Good to hear already tried 5 different faceplates. Currently using a slightly cut dji goggles v2 foam which is pretty decent. But got the iflight wide version on order.
This a very helpful description of the new Goggles Integra, relative to the previous DJI goggles. Thank you. I'm a Mavic 3 flyer, and very interested to use them, but I do not like the Motion 2 controller stick. Are you able to connect them with the RC-N1 or DJI RC? Apparently, there is a way to connect them, but do you think there is any issue? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NbiLhqccgKM.html Pls let me know. I'm subbing. Greetings from Montreal.
Hey! I don't have a Mavic 3 to verify but I did see some reports where they were able to get the original Mavic remote working. Not sure how long it will take for DJI to patch that bypass though.
I am not a long range pilot so did not perform any range tests. In my type of flying, I didn’t notice any difference in signal strength or quality. I would expect them to be very similar given that they both use the o3 technology even though the top antennas are slightly different.
They're probably thinking that the $150 lower price tag is a win, especially when you still get the OLED displays and 1080p. Unfortunately they're still a compromise and you need to see what makes sense based on your priorities.
I'm currently using the G2. The only issue is I sweat alot, and sometimes it makes the lens foggy. But I won't change my G2 anytime soon. I will used it until it breaks.
Do you pull the goggles over your hair when you're not flying? It seems like that can contribute to the fogging issues. Thankfully I haven't had that problem yet but the hot humid weather is still about a month out for me.
Looks like they would be REALLY hot if you're flying in the summer. The counterweight of the battery in the back is a good idea but it REALLY looks like your head would get hot.
Weather is still cooler here but I suspect it will be fine. The foam padding on the battery pack has some ridges that will probably let your head breath.
thing is on g2´s you give up a little bit of resolution by scaling down the picture. On the integra no. Havent tried them, maybe its completely unnoticeable
If I scale the Goggles 2 to about 80%, it seems to give a comparable experience. I can't perceive a difference in resolution. The thing though is that the menu does not scale down and only the image feed from the quad scales.
Hey thanks for the in-depth look great video man I have 2 pairs of v2 and want the newer goggles but hard To decide this helps but I still want both pairs 😅 goggles 2 and integra both are awesome my opinion goggles 2 seem to be king of the hill
Welcome. Anywhere you can try them on before you buy? Going from the V2 to the Integra will be a big reduction in the FOV so make sure you're okay with that along with the fit/comfort.
Welcome. I use them primarily with what's called a DIY drone that has an O3 Air Unit in it but you can also use the Goggles 2 / Goggles Integra with a fair number of the DJI drones too (such as the Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro). You'll need to review the release notes of each drone to see if it is compatible or not.
I also had the uncomfortable feeling with the Integra. They press on the bridge of the nose. I cut off about 1 cm of the foam in the nose area. Now the glasses sit much better.
Glad you found it useful. Good time to buy with the sale right now. I still prefer the Goggles 2 vs the integra unless you need the built in gps or the price point is a deal breaker.
Hello. today I tried to record the flight on my goggle integra, but without success, I don't have the advanced camera settings option in the menu, I don't know why this tab doesn't appear for me 😔. I am using old original DJI Air Unit. my o3 still hasn't arrived. I'm going to install this one on another drone that I'm building. would you know how to access this menu to record the video both on the glasses and on the air unit card?
Hello. With the original air unit and the backwards compatibility firmware (the firmware that makes the vista/original air unit work with the Goggles 2/Integra), the original air unit onboard recording no longer works. You should be able to pull down the top menu and press the record button to record the flight on the goggles DVR.
@@MangorilleNow I understand, it makes sense. so I can only record the screen of the glasses now and everything that is showing up for me on the screen? this menu by scrolling the screen down and pressing the rec I found. but it only records the screen with the osd. without osd there's no way anymore, right? a friend with goggle2 and o3 records everything normally, so I thought that mine, even being integral, would be able to perform this, but with the air unit.
The backwards compatibility firmware is barebones and some of the features the o3 has or even some features we had from the old goggles is missing. I can’t remember if you can record without the osd on that backwards compatibility firmware, do you see any setting that sounds like “screen view” that you can turn off?
Both are rated at 2 hours; however, the battery that comes with the Integra are 2450mah whereas the Goggles 2 are 1800mah. I noticed that the battery seemed to last longer in the Integra though.
The diopter inserts should be made of glass, not plastic - anything for optics should be glass. This should have also been optional as people like myself do not wear glasses.
99.9% of all eyeglasses on the market for consumers to correct their vision are made from plastic lenses. Glass lenses are much heavier to wear on your face if you have a strong lens and the glass lenses are cheaper than the plastic for eye ware. I have cleaned the lens on my integara googles many times with a lens tissue and had no problem. I don't know if the lenses are coated...maybe that would be a consideration.
@@kchappelle yepp, agreed. Nobody makes glass lenses these days. All is plastic, but with anti scratch coating. Would be nice if DJI adds that coating to their lenses going forward
@@ralphderkapitaen9875 The coating would be nice. Now I’m mostly using the Googles 2 with the new DJI soft fit liner and my lens are fogging up all the time.
Yes that is true, there are other goggles with the SD card in the same spot and I haven't heard of any widespread issue with that positioning (such as the HDOs). Not ideal especially if you ever get a different face plate but I don't see this as a substantial issue.
Helpful description of the goggles👍 Not sure how it works with the SD's though, do I remove the card from my mini 3 pro and insert it in to the goggles or do I get another card so the goggles and drone have them at the same time. Maybe a silly question to most, but I just don't know 🤣
Can't speak for the Mavic, but us with a DIY quad actually run a SD card in both the goggles and on the drone itself. The goggles view has all the overlays on it and is at a lower resolution than what is captured on the drone itself.
Welcome. I’m flying the vista less now but only because the weather has been terrible and my flights are focused on content for the channel, which turn out way better with the o3 due to the quality.
Are you planning to get the o3 or are you happy with the vista? Do you fly in places that transition a lot from dark to light (eg flying in and out of buildings).
@@peternguyen3732 Then no benefit in going to the V2. There is a slight benefit in going to the Goggles 2 (not the integra) if they fit you really well and you want something that is smaller for ease of transport. I don't suggest the integra because of the very small FOV.
Did you get the new DJI faceplate yet? I've also just ordered one. I'm hoping it's suitable for a narrow face...as my integra stock face plate is way too wide for my face and lets a ton of light in from the sides. Everything else is fine.
@@Mangorille I just got the DJI soft fit liner now and it fits perfectly and very comfortable. But it fits so well that my lenses are fogging up all the time now.
@@Mangorille not much difference. As far as the edges go… I think of them as peripheral vision. I can get perfect edges if I compromise on the center and if I want the clearest center, the edges suffer. Obviously we want the center looking the best, because that what we focus on for flying. I’ve stopped caring about the edges and think of them just like we do in real life. You can’t read with peripheral vision so why should we with these goggles on? With your normal eyesight if you look extremely to one side you see what you’re looking at with one eye and your nose with the other. So this is normal. So with the goggles on I can see one side good with one eye and not the other. I think this is normal when looking to the sides.
It's an antenna that's in an X orientation. Mad's Tech did a tear down a while ago. Check out 10:45 here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lgBE63aXksk.html
Glad that worked for you, I suspect for me it would actually make the goggles more uncomfortable and cause pressure point on my nose where the nose area ends. I already feel a difference in that area between the Goggles 2 and Integra.
