Don't know how algorythm decided to show me this video, but comparing views to subs I'm not the only one. A brillinat idea and perfect execution. Regarding the bowser jr. fights I respect that you hit them once, so they start in their shells, but It takes 1/3 of the fight, so I would just let them stand in the beginning and replace fireflowers with mushrooms, so you can't cheese it with the fire balls. Regarding Bowser, I think you have to beat the fight in one go (but not 100% sure). If so I would take the checkpoints away and just one fireflower in the beginning. But nether the less 2 great levels and a well deserved like and sub.
I personnaly dont think the fights in Wonder are bad, its just wasted potential because of world 3 and 5 not having a boss Edit: and no the quality does not make up for the lack of quality and this Video didnt change my opinion of that and it can never be changed. But I think you still managed to recreate the bosses very well.
Also, one more thing, I sort of kinda forgot to upload the levels for my video ideas of the Bowser Jr boss fights and Bowsers rage stage. So can I combine my ideas and your ideas together, I’ll make sure to credit you, please and thank you :)
Honestly as for the bowser fight with the timed jumping platforms, I would have used note blocks on tracks to remake the effect of having to time your jump
I actually thought of the same idea but it was pretty late into the design of the level. It would work pretty well other than the fact that because of the autoscroll, the noteblocks would be be off synch with spawning
I think the opinion that these bosses are bad is just a misconception based on the fact that there are only 5 and they're all just Bowser and Bowser Jr. The boss design is significantly better than every other 2D Mario game
I really liked these levels, especially the bowser level! I think the rhythmic platforms could have been improved by using note blocks moving up and down on tracks. Not only will this slightly increase the jump boost you get from them relative to the ground, it will also prevent you from jumping on them multiple times in a single cycle. Regardless, great video!
Thats actually something I thought of but it was late into the design of the level that I just kept this design. Theres also the problem that bc the level had autoscroll, the note blocks wouldnt all spawn at once having them be off synch unless I put a door in the middle of the room
I think the wonder boss fights are good. But as a game as creative as wonder, it feels underwhelming. Except for the final boss, that is awesome, though a bit too easy.
Oh yea I can definitely see where you're coming from. I think the final phases of each fights were done masterfully but it doesnt change the fact that Bowser Jr is the boss every time which is unfortunate
The problem isn't the desing.... IT'S JUST THE JUNIOR FIGHTS ARE THE SAME.... They are technicly different, but it doesn't have a big impact... The Bowser fight was awsome, everyone knows that.... It's just the Junior fights being a little too similar to each other.... It's another koopaling/Boom boom problem and every boss was fresh.... also facing the same guy in every castle in Wonder is also a problem..... The fights are okay, but....Would have been creating a new boss for Every castle so hard.... Like in New Sup DS No one says the fight themselfs suck, it's that junior is repetitiveand there are only Bowser and Junior.... AT LEAST THE NEW SERIES SOMETIMES HAD KAMEK But here....NOTHING
Bowser Jr being the only boss other than Bowser himself was pretty unfortunate though I like how the final phase of each one was really different from each other. From swimming in water bubbles to fighting clones on moving semisolids. There are valid points to both sides
People just see that they're the same character, and don't look further to notice that they're actually a recurring boss done right. The arenas with their Wonder Effects make each of the fights different and unique, while Bowser Jr's retained basic moveset makes sure he's not just completely different enemies shoehorned to look the same.
