Designing Lego’s New Logo! 

Going by this I challenge you to redesign IKEA's iconic logo keeping in mind the struggle of it always being a maze. ;)

Lovely video! So glad you’re back posting regular content on youtube ❤️ and this one was just Genius - I love your redesigns and this one just kept getting better and better. At some point I thought to myself “well but isn’t this missing the child aspect?” And there you go adding it in right away. Imao you’re the best brand/Corporate/graphic designer out there! Actually though, I really liked the way it looked in the in between stage with the rough edges before you started tidying it up! Can’t explain but felt like that already incorporated both the edgy and the child oriented character and just looked really nice as well. On another note: Would love more packaging content again, always in awe of your solutions!

Great job! 🙌 I'm also guilty of using the rectangle tool as "measure". As a UI/UX designer full-time, I use Figma a lot, and it has a very handy function showing the distance between elements, in pixel values, when pressing down Alt/Option using the selection tool. I don't get why Illustrator hasn't implemented a similar solution yet for all the logo designers who love to build symmetrical/tidy logos 😅 I thought I'm just missing something, but seeing you using the same method, I'm kinda relieved 🫣 Also, your explanations are always so good to hear and follow, it helps me a lot in explaining my own design decisions to my clients ✨

Again, Fantastic ONE ! Btw I follow you very Deeply and I believe this video is one of your most natural one where we can actually see how you actually talk without much scripting, and honestly I personally loved this.

I feel like you should have added the little knobs on top and turned it into an actual lego brick, but maybe that's too on the nose?

I think it would've looked better if you left it with the black border, then make each letter a different color. L would have to be red.

I like how you can see a brick in the 'E' and how its built onto the 'L'. I also noticed you could potentially merge the 'O' with the 'G' on the bottom right.

As a digital designer who I learned the hard way about color differences with print all I could think about is how those new colors would look for packaging with CYMK 😅

Abi, pleeease, can you make an explicative video or something about printing and rgb/cmyk? I am goin crazy, I'm a beginner and I don't understand too much about ir. Everyone keep saying a lot of different things....how do you manage colors when printing? Cuz you use a lot of bright, colorful colors and they are looking great when are printed. So how are you working with color? Pls, tell us 😩 ty!

Great approach Abi! I really loved the idea of the word lego inside the rectangle. It reminds me of the LEGO building blocks. also, the stacked letters together also reminds me of TETRIS 😅

not sure. I do like the added structure and how it looks more like a brick but I don't think making the colours warmer did make them much less garish in all honesty. I understand the choice to avoid the black stroke but I feel like in that case the brightness should be reduced and then pump the saturation a little more to compensate.

How come instead of using the rulers u use rectangles for measuring? Like use 2 rulers one at the end of the first letter and the second one at the start of the second letter and then move these rulers around for measuring
