I Redesigned Vampires - Fantasy Worldbuilding, Lore, Speed Painting 

I never thought the trend of redesigning fantasy elements will become so popular but I'm really glad it has been a lot more refreshing and interesting than just the boring generic stuff you see in the mainstream.

Your channel is a hidden gem. Glad I discovered it!

Writing notes whilst riding the bus is the most natural way to start, I think - especially if you have to commute often to go pretty much anywhere😁 Also, it's always in those "relaxed" moments like when you're about to fall asleep that the best ideas seem to come to mind. Your overturning of the usual vampire tropes is really interesting! It does seem that movies and TV shows have moved on from the vampire trend, but I still can't help but be intrigued whenever a series I'm reading/watching suddenly dips their toes in vampire lore. I would be interested to hear how the rest of the world regard the Blood Breathers - worldbuilding reaches a whole new level of three-dimensionality when different characters or societies interact with one another, after all!

i LOVE world and lorebuilding with a burning passion and i am very very happy to have discovered your channel. i love seeing other people craft their own worlds, explore their themes, references and criative ideas! i am building my own world myself and it's a work in progress but i do play some ttrpg with friends on that setting haha anyways, idk if you'd be interested in that at all, but i thought that these guys being underground is a huge catalyst for a bunch of other things! maybe they could expand their underground society and become a threath to multiple places or maybe they're discovered by someone (which can lead to either someone wanting to understand and explore hemomancy or a horrifying one way ticket to hell lol).

You've said that they get oxygen from blood, did you mean from their own blood or from other people or animals?

Wait, they filter the oxygen out of their own blood to breathe? This is just holding your breath with extra steps since no extra oxygen is getting in and no waste gas is going out. Where do they get their constant supply of fresh, oxygenated blood? My bad if I missed something but I can't see how this makes sense

Sick man, a bit more outlandish than I was expecting but I love it. Seeing as their city is sunken do they rise out of the ocean when they want to attack other settlements or is there still remnants of the city above ground?

This design is absolutely FABULOUS!!!! 😻🤩🥹 I’ll even be using this as reference for my own speculative evolution project! 🔥✍️ I’m currently working on a race of sapient/sentient Bacteria, Mordeus Occulivos. They’ll live among humans w/o detection, later becoming a zombie infection. A war between the bacteria will break out over the ethics of the infection. Similar to the Anti-War/Hippy era. I’m doing my own redesign of zombies. Since the Mordeus utilize genetic modification, they can change the body plan of a zombie as they see fit. (Including adding DNA from other animals & organisms) I’m going more for an Ethereal, Robotic, Bio Mechanical look. Stif & Upright, Calculating & Efficient. The polar opposite of the conventional zombie, essentially. 🤣 Referencing the Androids in Aliens. I’m even experimenting w/ “Walking Cities.” Where bacteria take a zombie & turn it into their city/base of operations. They can even pilot the infected person. Essentially puppeteering thm. You can find floating buildings around & an Aurora Borealis atop the zombies’ heads. Due to the intense magnetic field the bacteria rely on to communicate. They use a sorta “Bio WIFI” to speak. (Imagine finding a zombie w/ an Aurora on its head!! 🫣🙀) I have a “Macho” bacteria character in mind who will lead the infection. Cruor reminded me of him a lot. Specifically, his essence I’m tryna nail down. I don’t want his *entire* personality to be bloodlust. I’m playing w/ the idea of a vengeful yet compassionate personality. I want to create cognitive dissonance in those who see him. 😹 He’ll be piloting a “Walking City” in zombie form too. Symbolizing his care, empathy, & compassion for those he’s protect & “raising.” I LOVE body horror & will be adding lots as well! 🤭 I appreciate you adding adding some mechanical elements to your design. Ex: The blood breathing tubes. Even the Knox Sanguis experimenting on ppl & making a whole new species is AWESOME!! Lots of great material I’m taking notes on. 🔥✍️ Reminds me of my own bacteria design as well! 🤣 They genetically modified other organisms w/ hair appendages as their form of early tools. Similar to Humanity’s Stone Age.
