My struggle is getting rid of clothes I haven’t worn or don’t wear often. I have been working from home since 2018: Besides mom duties and church I’m not in the streets like that or traveling all year. Yet I have an entire storage unit for clothes. Large enough to store a car. 🤦🏽♀️ I gave several bags away to my sister in law but I have a long way to go.
If either of u ladies sell or donate me me know here. In need of clothing m-l size 14-16. My weight has been fluctuating for health reasons and it's been diffucult keeping up with the change. Thx u😊
Whew Alicia! I needed this today!! 😂😂 I impulse buy soooo much then will feel bad after about a week and end up taking the item back to the store. Then I’ll feel bad for taking the item back to the store! 😩 I know, it’s pretty wild! 😂 You have inspired me to do better in 2024. Thanks for sharing your journey!!
Heeeey girl!+ i need a no buy. Don't do it list. It's the storage bind for me. NO JUDGMENT!😂 It's really sad but we're going to do better. I could open a freakin store😅😅😅.
I'm doing a 75 day no buy right now! I have 45 days to go. My goal is to stop impulse buying. I have waaaay too much stuff - Clothes, shoes, lotions, body wash, candles, room sprays, makeup, and hair products! I overbuy and then hoard. I'm on a mission to run out of everything or get the useful life out of everything, and see a significant different in my bank account.
Alicia, I wasted money on a medspa for laser removal. Decided to go with Milan Laser Removal, bought a package and it worked out well. I’m in maintenance (for almost 2 years) and I went for one touch up that entire time. But you have lifetime maintenance and they have a number of locations aim the US.
I love your ideas. The purse left in the car is a good idea, especially for me. I will surely start doing that. I brought this beautiful black raincoat, and you know raincoats are thin, but I could not squeeze it in my closet. This was suspect to me, so I struggled to open up the closet and saw that I have 18 coats. Why, just why, uuuggg so like you 2024 I'm not buying coats and footwear.
If your ever in the market to sell/donate and coats post here. I've been in need of a rain and winter coat parka or anorak type but hard to find in Atlanta. Thx u
I love the no buy list I’ve had one for years now if I followed it😂. Interesting I treat my Chanel and Coach bags the same 😂..I wear my stuff & I don’t ever worry about resale at all if it was an Hermes maybe I would.. I enjoy my things more that way ❤
I window shop online to get the impulse out. The only way I’ll buy something is if something is going out. The I organized my side of the closet is way too neat
I have a 10X20 temperature controlled storage unit, packed to the ceiling with clothes. I also have two closets, a walk-in closet, and a room I converted into a closet. DON’T JUDGE ME! PS. I’m selling everything in the storage unit…someday!
Alicia!!! Please give laser another try but with a black owned business ( I stress). I used to love waxing until I saw the results on my friend and the carefreeness of it all. I’m not going to lie I was hesitant because of all the negative reviews from POCs and establishments not knowing how to proceed. I live in Brooklyn, NY and where I go is not a chain so it be found by where you are. But it is black women owned and the woman who owns it is a nurse. All techs are of color and have been trained accordingly. Laser is expensive but it does produce results if it’s done correctly. I pretty use it everywhere. My upper lip, toes, happy trail, underarms, full Brazilian front and back and full legs no issues whatsoever. Please try it again with the right place. I’m almost up to maintenance phase for they increase it little by little. But the hair does not grow all the way back. It’s more patchy than anything and way thinner not as thick at all. For hair to grow all the way back the technician had no clue what she was doing as well as the machine being ineffective. The technician is supposed to be able to see the hairs being lasered.
Have you tried Sugardoh for hair removal? My younger sister was trying to save on hair removal and that was one of the things I came up on while trying to find alternatives for her.
So I had laser hair removal by my doctor which is a black woman and I think it was working but she had a flood in her office and her machine was ruined and she didn’t get another so I never found someone else to go to. Who’s your dermatologist? I’m looking for someone to go to.
They really need to stop telling people that laser hair removal will take 6 sessions cause it isn’t true. It’s definitely more than that. Everyone I know, white, black or brown agrees
@@AliciaGettys right! I had some words with my laser people about that nonsense. They swore up and down that for some people it really does work in 6 sessions 🙄
I gasped when you added no white button downs…I get it…I love a white button down. Maybe William will have some old ones in great condition that you can wear 😊 I wear my dad’s old ones that are in great condition that he no longer wants because he has too many
I have a sephora addiction😢, so my sort of a no buy is to wait until the second sephora sale at the end of the year that'll way I can get more of a bang for my buck by getting the gift sets. So I won't buy anything until then.....so Jesus be a fence....whew
This is confirmation for me to really watch my spending. Thank you for always being so transparent.., btw, target is definitely one of my favorites.. be blessed 🎉❤
I did a package with wax treatments on my hairy legs. They claimed the hair will be lighter and thinner. So I did it for a whole summer. During the winter all the hair grew back the same as before.🙄 Such a waste of money
I am so glad you spoke about your experience with laser hair removal,it is so expensive in Trinidad also,I was considering doing it eventually, more than likely would not have worked for me.🙏
I really need to make my own list cz I feel like I never sit down and think of what I’m NOT buying instead always what I’m wanting to spend/save money for. I like how you’re challenging yourself. The chokehold those white shirts and impulsive buying have on me too 😓😮💨😅… you got this Alicia!
I absolutely love your channel, I'm a new subscriber. You are so fashionable and beautiful sis. Thank you for this. I struggle so hard with impulse buying and you helped me to totally put things into perspective. Thank you! God Bless!
I love this! Especially the wait for purchases over $100. Lolol take yourself to the thrift store 😭🤣 I felt that, cause sometimes you just want to buy!! And I live in a high rise condo with not a lot of storage so I change out clothes every season, I’m over it!!! I want to be able to fit all seasons in my closet 🙌🏾.
Omgsh Lisha, I purchased a pair of knit caps from one of your videos. I AM BLOWN AWAY. I LOVE the inside material. I was thinking it was a normal knit cap but NOOOOO this is what i needed and never knew …. Thanks again sis. I’m in Louisiana and you have me contemplating on making a trip to Alabama to try that thrift shop 😌
@@AliciaGettys they have a very few gems but NOTHING compared to what you picked out. The price was much different, the style as well. I always have to remember LISHA HAS THAT EYE and can spot ANYTHING, the rest of us see BASIC. 😩
Hi Alicia , I totally agree with you on clothes. I just said that I’m not buying it if it doesn’t serve multiple purposes and I have to really like it..and when or if I buy an item , I have to get rid of 2 items in my closet…I am an emotional shopper and I’m changing all that this year, cause I’m in target at least 4 time a week.🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
