You mean to recreate the recreation of the recreation of the recrearion of the recreation of the recreation of the recreation of super mario bros Edit:why you reply guys???
I notice that the goombas you drew and the Mario colors actually resemble Super Mario World. So if you've played the SNES game, those memories could be interfering.
These blocks do not tile correctly. I like it, I think it adds character. I think I've found the pixel art equivalent to "It's not a bug, it's a feature".
@@costelinha1867 And was brought mainstream by Todd Howard. I hate when someone's favourite creator/athlete/etc says an already common phrase and they act like that person made it up. I'm agreeing with you, just to be clear.
that's a fun challenge, also a great way to learn Unity for those who haven't yet. you were probably thinking of some of the characters/NPCs looks in later games, especially Mario himself.
Actually they made them in a text editor of sorts, drawing them out on paper and then coding them in. Then we got ms paint, which has been used ever since, as recent as Mario Oddesy where you can clearly see the personality the pencil tool adds.
The first level of mario is like the perfect tutorial. First trying stuff out, having one little thread coming towards you so you HAVE TO act. Then you are introduced to powerups. Next you learn you can jump higher by pressing longer. Every jump is getting more difficult
I'm gonna be a nerd here, I know, but I'm pretty sure the smw goombas are called Galoombas. Completely arbitrary difference and I cannot fault you for not caring about it lmao, might be wrong here too
I've remade SMB 1-1 so many times in Super Mario Maker 1 & 2 that I know it like the back of my hand. Whenever I play an inacurrate version of this level in SMM, I always get triggered but seeing you creating the level in this video has to be the most triggering thing I've had to endure in my life!
13th of September, 1985 (in an alternate universe) *Mario* "Nintendo refused to document our life story!" *Luigi* "Brother, it's okay. I know a guy... He hasn't been born yet, though"
Honestly, that's really fun. Quite a solid effort there, especially for someone so young whose parents were probably the ones who played SMB when it was new.
ngl watching this has made me want to take another shot a learning unity, this time to recreate mario. I've been subbed to polymars for years, so I'm happy I found this channel. great content :)
nah man. nah. as someone who started programming in 2021 i don't think recreating sonic physics is easy. there's slopes and spinny things. mario bros has simple physics of walking in flat surface. physics are super simple with easy collision checks. to code in "slopes" you have to make like a million lines of code to make it work.
I became a subscriber thanks to 6:48 This is one of the most creative videos I`ve seen in quite a while - the idea and ingenuity of this really inspired me. Thanks so much for your work!
I didn't expect you to redraw all the sprites and you remembered much more than I expected but there's something in my brain that is telling me to write everything i can remember that you didn't A sub-world The hidden 1up after the first set of pipes Coins Fire flowers Coin blocks
idk how many "man hours" that took him but im prettysure thats better than i would have done and i was a smb freak back in 85 when it came out, my nes aas bundled with the light gun and a single game cart with both smb and duck hunt on it. i remember playing smb 3 on the tabletop arcade game at pizza hut and then due to lack of internet, calling my local kmart store no less than 3x per week asking the poor lady to go check if they got it in for nes yet...this was before caller id, but she definitely came to know my voice... but yeah..he did a better job than i would have. except for the koopas.
I like this video! The editing is great, and i like the idea. I could really see you being a populair RU-vidr in the future with videos like this! You just earned a new subscriber with the notifications on!
