The reason Jardino is so fast despite its appearance is because its statline was carried over from the pre-existing Hoenn roster just like the other Fan Pokemon. Jardino is Sceptile, Descomune is Wailord, Ruycantor is Swellow, Kaosune is not Rayquaza but Groudon, and Babos is Skitty of all Pokemon.
I think the funniest part of this aspect of Quartz is that Trapinch got turned into a split evo. Because its evolutions are Vibrava and Flygon, one of them is just better than the other in every way. They were Dragon/Water and Dragon/Fire, though I don't remember offhand which one was which.
Ah, Pokémon Quartz. People tend to bullshit on it nowadays, but I remember playing back in 2010. Of course it had all these bizarre things, but, for that time, it was something else. Also, I'm an appreciator of hacks that totally change the history, region and pokémon, so, Quartz was a pioneer, wanting you or not. Anyway, great job as always!
I really do love these videos. It's always so fun to see the transition between the original and your remake. Btw, in case you couldn't tell, all fakemon have identical stats to the real pokemon they replace in the dex.
ok, the fact the stongest legendary's name is "Garotao", or big guy in portuguese seem to mean something about the creator of this hack's nationality... Altho the fact the hack's post had a reversed "!" might mean the guy actually knew spanish... and I can't pick a favorite redesign tbh, the mountain turtle, not Rayquaza and king bird were the coolest, but idk which was the best
I really loved the old designs but those new ones look fantastic! It felt like a bit that you hated on it (could also just be me so srry) but great video 10/10
Oh wow, Jardino and Descomune are extremely interesting now that it's redesigned. Love me some plant dinos (I love Chikorita and their line). (Also: Nice! I didn't expect to get featured on the video. I'm glad I actually got to see some cool backsprites! )
God, your redesigns are fantastic! Somebody needs to send this to Baro himself. I'm sure he would appreciate someone sprucing up the designs he made almost 20 years ago. (Oof, that makes me feel old.)
I had an unfinished physical copy of this for a little while and man am I glad it's infamous. I miss playing it for the first time, not knowing what a rom hack was and believing it to be some rare official game. I'm feeling really nostalgic for this game how LOL
Pokémon Quartz was actually my first ever Pokémon game. My parents didn't want to buy me a GBA or a DS, so I tried emulation, and the first I got to work was this romhack. I have a lot of nostalgia for it, even if I couldn't make it far in the game, both not understanding english and having never played RSE before 😅
I remember I was at my mothers job for bring your kids to work day, and her coworkers kid was playing this. it was the first time i ever saw a pokemon rom hack and the one guy said "damn" and my face was just 😮
Oh my god I remember this one! I was salty that they forgot the exit to that game’s version of Shoal Cave 😂 Also, that game’s version of Sootopolis had no entrance.
Perhaps next could be reimagining Pokemon Chaos Black? A rom hack that seemed to have some nice potential on the surface but ended up a bit disappointing because it didn't go all the way
17:45 just to clarify, "osoe" doesn't mean "bear" in spanish, just "oso" The extra "e" is there because...idk it sounds cool i guess? lol Also i love your work you reacreate the fifth gen style really well!
"...without the guy on the title screen" poor Senex from snakewood, people actually think that title screen with the zombie muk is hte official but the in-game one has Senex which is literally just an old guy so it's better that way
Video idea: i send you pictures of my bad creature collecter monsters, and you redesign them while making fun of them. Then i ponder why im bad at making designs.
Wouldn't really call some of these "ugly," some of these designs polished could've actually been Pokémon in my opinion. These were rushed to some extent because of the lack of black outlines, but still have some work put into them in terms of concepts so they're not bad. Pokémon Topaz on the other hand would be considered ugly and lazy because of some designs resembling others and others are just kinda sloppy.
Yeah, of course I overdo it a bit due to how RU-vid sometimes just is, but that doesn't make it an excuse for that being harsh against it. Valid argument!
Sapete perché la regione di Pokémon Quartz si chiama Corna? Perché la gente che hanno giocato al gioco si sono presi per le corna Eh? Eh? Capita? Per le corna,
@@voliol8070 I was looking for this comment before making one. No matter how you want to catch the attention of the viewer what you are saying is just disrespectful of someone's work. We've got all our art style, skill level and a certain amount of time we can allow to creation. Calling someone's else work "ugliest" sounds condescending and mostly doesn't embrace the sense of community we should carry over. Don't build your pyramid burying others as a foundation 🙏
I just feel that these new designs take me away a little from how funny the originals were, maybe it would be useful not to make them so serious, to keep a little of that ridiculous design :)
