I am dumbfounded how Asspyre managed to screw up such a classic game, yet they put more effort in the Tomb Raider Remastered collection? Guess they wanted to shove this game out the door as soon as possible to see if people were dumb enough to buy it. I prefer getting Steam or Xbox port than give any of my hard earned money to Asspyre
They really didnt mess this game up, it is exactly what was promised outside of some understandable performance issues which (keep in mind) always happens at launch
@@JackedBillGaming 10 per game, this is two games in one so you are only paying 17.50 per game. When i got my game it only cost 27 so it was even less than that
These mods are free and offer a much better experience. Crazy how inept the Developers are in comparison to a dude with passion working in his computer.
@@BerserkerErik They did bring it in, every server launch is rough and needs tweaking nun of that is new and is already fixed mainly a mere 2 days after launch. The only reason the steam version seems better is its been live for forever now
I been doing this for years. I didn't get the hype for the classic collection. Just looked like a cheap money-grab port (it was). But you had grown men screaming into their cameras hyped. Gaming is so sad nowadays.
to me the worst part for the official classic collection is it costs more then buying the original versions. 10usd each vs 35... If it had more content then I would understand but its just the same, but worse. Yeah theres the xbox content but besides a "oh thats neat" it adds almost nothing, and the original has a mod to restore it anyways, which was even used in the trailer for the classic collection. They should have add cut content from the original like the alternate loadouts each class had as an extra mode or beta naboo for bf1. Or make a few sequal trilogy maps like a downgraded version of EA's maps. Im not a developer but they should at least have added something to fill the 15usd gap. Not enough to change the game completely for preservation sake but just give a few extra small things. Maybe even a galactic conquest editor or more game modes. Something that changes the game while keeping the core intact. Everything from the original is the same, but theres more added to it.
I 1000% agree with you. I returned the classic collection after playing for an hour. Modders are doing the lords work making the 2005 version 100x better than a cash grab $35 “collection”
I agree with u 100%…. But from what I’ve heard u actually can mod the new classic collrction. But at that point, there’s really no use in getting the new port.
sadly for me the classic collection is the only way I can play these classics anymore, without wreaking my computer setup after each session is done...
@@JackedBillGaming windows 11 duel screen setup. upon launch second monitor goes crazy, and upon closing, main monitor on occasion only shows mouse in the upper left quarter of the screen, requiring a hard restart...
Thank you so much for making this video. Pay less for the original versions of the classics to TRULY REMASTER them with mods by Passionate Modders. Pay way more for the Defective Classic Collection Edition (get less), to literally throw your money into this Dumpster Fire.
If I remember rightly the BF3 files are pretty hefty, I wanna say over 15GB? So that means the remaster mods you added only bring the game to around 35GB!
This is the 3rd time I've lived to see my favorite childhood game get ruined by some company. Seeing some guy on RU-vid do it better is just rubbing salt in the wound
They could've had a professional graphics artist faithfully remake all the textures by hand at lower resolution than the upscale and have a better looking product with a fraction of the space.
Speaking of the classic collection the servers have been getting stable for the last 2 days I can almost play at 60fps vrs the 15 fps plus lag combo on the servers that did work and I’m on console it was bad if not worse then the pc version before but now man I’m having fun with the 32v32 heroes vrs villains
These are mods yes but the classic collection is just a port of the console version no crazy changes to the game yes multiplayer is the biggest issue with it right now but i dont know what anyone expected out of this i bought it yes and im enjoying it cause im not a huge multiplayer person i like playing with bots
I want to add. My biggest problems with the classic collection are. The BF1 loading screen has a weird pitch and the cutscenes they use are updated now I can longer see decrepit puppit yoda from phantom menace and in BF2 they removed cutscenes? But I mean.... it doesn't make unplayable

Battlefront remaster mod has issues itself if you play on anything higher than 1080p. For example, Kashyyk, most of the screen is blue from the water. Also, the UI and HUD are all fucked up... but that is more of an issue with the original game that the remaster wasn't able to fix.
I don't wanna look like i have everything figured out, but i swear I had no problems running those mods for years, maybe it is because of the version, the 2.2 has some issues and weird compatibility with the legacy mod. I found the 1.6 and had no issue with that, but it depends on a lot of things
@@daviddopazo3745I really only have the issues on 1440p or 4k. Perfect on 1080p... but anything above that breaks the UI/HUD for me. If I wasn't playing on a 42" monitor than 1080p would suffice, especially for how much better the remaster graphics look compared to classic collection or base game.
that is a graphical glitch with water rendering above 1080p, the shader patch mod by sleepkiller fixes that issue and has a fully customisable shader editor inbuilt with it that lets u make the game look really good, one of the biggest graphical improvements it lets u do is add ambient occlusion which the base game doesnt have
they work with any version, try looking into the mods ur trying to install and joining a discord server if one is linked, the gog version of bf2 can have mods just the same as steam
Hilarious how they make their “dedicated default servers” on the classics on console with whacky settings. Enabling 32 A.I’s NO Aim assist (with terrible hit reg) and heroes in all gamemodes enabled is just awful.
If you wasted your money getting the classic collection on PC and can't get a refund don't worry the modders are fixing the game and are trying to get their mods to work on the classic collection. In a couple of weeks they will have all the bugs fixed. I just feel sorry for the console gamers that are stuck with a broken game. I just wished the game didn't release broken it killed all the hype my friends had for playing the game I was going to buy it again on PS5.
Oh dawg, if you’ve ever been limited regarding a game return, that just means ur still going through the developer or store you got it from digitally. You should always just call your bank. Ever since games went primarily live service, I’ve only returned a handful of games, but every one of them was through my bank with 0 hassle and done very quickly. Even way beyond the company’s ‘return deadline’.
Seems like theres more people playing servers since the last i played, they probably realized the collection was trash and they could play online with the original anyway

I’ve played those, but the ground to space was just a cutscene - you can go from ground to space in real time with this mod which is my personal preference/favorite way to do it
it is when u consider battlefront 2 does not support ground to space normally, modders found a way to create maps that combine both ground and space maps into one

he just went into the multiplayer tab, the original releases on steam have fully functioning multiplayer, the bf2 remaster mod by harrisonfog prides itself on its multiplayer compatibility, meaning it doesnt change any gameplay so u can play multiplayer with it just fine, even on unmodded servers

@@lisek0205 steam and GOG version yes, disk version will not allow u to connect to the same servers, youd need to use something like GameRanger or SWBFSpy which have their own servers, id imagine those would be quite dead though since official servers exist
Did steam take down og bf1 and 2 for the classic collection? If so, im starting to think these companies are purposely trying to destroy og starwars games with new buggy games. Next itll be empire at war probably Just look what theyve done to kotor 1 and 2, a buggy mess on consoles
I don’t think they’ve taken down the OG versions yet. But I would recommend anyone considering getting the old versions of those titles to get them now
@@camdenmusprime the fake console comes with the unofficial 1.3 patch, the bf2 remaster mod by GTAnakin (which is the one that makes the main menu HD and improves the HUD) comes with the patch built in what are u clicking in the fake console that crashes ur game?
The classic collection is yet another lazy money grab to milk the Star Wars fans. Don't buy it, even if it hurts just don't give them your money, until they fix the game.
Resolution looks like 800x600 or something, also looks like 30fps, sure the textures and redesigns are cool but i'll stick to the more polished classic collection, multiplayer has been the major issue and they are working on the servers, this just looks too blurry even with mods.
the main menu on the base game is 800x600 and stretches to fit, a mod called the battlefront 2 remaster by GT Anakin overhauls the menu to support 1080p along with many other improvements like AI controlled heroes, which the classic collection does not have despite that being a feature on certain versions of the original game battlefront 2 also does not run at 30fps, its locked at 80fps, 30fps only happens when hosting a dedicated server, which still happens on the classic collection
Clicked bc I still have both of the original xbox versions and they both still run beautifully minus one of the buffs sticking with me all the time. And it's pretty cool you even bear a passing resemblance to Hayden Christensen too. Lol
