Fish expert here. Fresh fish does not smell. if it smells it means its bad. You can put your nose right up to a fresh fish and smell nothing bad, also the eyes would look clear and healthy on a dead fish that is still fresh. another important thing about fish is you never throw it at your friend or foe.

Mr Noodles is genuine polite guy. He tolarated your fish throwing situation. :D

Ohman! Staying at a float house like that, all to yourself as the only visitors would be the way to go there!!! No other tourists to ruin the chill, like so many other places. So perfect! Maybe if you and Noodles return for a 3rd visit to Vietnam, you could rent one of those small motorized boat houses and putt around the islands on your own. That would be awesome!

I had similar experience with a 8+ year old vietnamese friend who I had a pretty close relationship with. I tried offering to help with his living situation, not much but it was enough to make a difference, he would not accept my money no matter what, it went as far as it sort of ruining the relationship cause I kept trying to help him and he refused it. I think it's a cultural thing. Every time I tried to bring it up as to why he would not accept it he would not reply to my texts at all. When I say they are some of the most humble, kind people on earth, i mean they literally are. Ofc there are isolated cases, not everyone is kind but the vast are unusually kind, it almost makes you suspicious. They don't show their kindness with excitement and and words like most people do, they just show it by actions, so their vibe might come off as uptight and serious but they mean well. On a related note: this place is so fking cool. Sad that you wont be spending more time here, some of the coolest vids you've uploaded, you should actually do a whole series on this area like you did in africa, i think it's worthy of it.

Vietnamese cats chill af. I think thats the first time I've actually seen a cat that lives on a boat. Heard of it, but never seen it.

Vietnamese people are very friendly and hospitable, you can go anywhere you want, if you have any difficulty, please translate with them, you will receive help immediately.
