I Rescued two Kittens who were Abandoned in the Park

I found Luke and Leah at the park while I was feeding stray cats. They were really hungry and freezing and about 6 weeks old. Somebody must have just abandoned these 2 kittens. So I took them home and found families for them. Leah was adopted really fast so I didn't get to know her well. Luke was one of the most fascinating kittens I've rescued so far and I'm very happy that I got to spend so much time with him. Cats and kittens are abandoned very often in Russia. The main reason for that is that people are not neutering their housecats and don't know what to do with the kittens.

When Luke cries after Leah has gone with her new family, it really breaks my heart. I can't hold my tears 😢 But I am happy to know both kittens have found their forever home and family.

I had a landlord who discovered I had rescue cats so told me to abandon them in park. I abandoned apartment.

😺😺❤ So sad that they were separated. One day we found one kitten. Some time after that we found another. It was a relief to know they had each other when we were at work. So for us it was easier to take care of two instead of one. I did not find it necessary to bathe them, and they would never let me. ☺ Anyway, glad to hear that these two found good homes. 👍💜💛💙💚🐈🐈🌷🇸🇪

Ye and don't speak to them as you would with another human, with lots of words used. Instead, use a few key words to associate with certain feelings, actions or objects - the cats will recognise these key words and even seem as if they can understand our language.

These two were in perfect shape when found, so Mama told them what to do, where to wait, that some caring humans would come along and take them in. Absolutely perfect.

Poor little Luke.. I felt so sorey for him crying after Leah. Aftee years of being kitty mama to many felines I would never separate 2 siblings again. They are so bonded and much less trouble when they have each other. Thank you for bringing them home from the park. It breaks my heart to see homeless kitties. Luke and Leah are the best names.

I don't think Luke n Leah should have been separated so soon after rescue.. as we saw him freaking out because of it. He's obviously attatched to females maybe separation from mother was too early. Being a kitten he wanted to bond with others but they weren't interested in excitable types and he was rejected again... given time he would have settled with them.

Yes, it would be ideal if they stayed together but unfortunetely it's almost impossible to find a nice family here that wants to adopt 2 kittens.

Cats are loners by nature. They play together as kittens, but when they can eat, you can separate them and they won't miss anything. There was a kitten even younger than these running around my yard by itself, and I could not even catch it.

You did a marvelous thing by saving these two beauties. I don't know how anyone can abandon kittens like this. They are so helpless and the world is too dangerous a place for them. As you know they will now grow up and be wonderful companions for their new owners for many years to come. But the most important thing is for all of us personally is the feeling of satisfaction that we have saved a precious life and given them their future.

Hi, I'm new here. I think you do a great job and take good care of the cats, whether young or older. It is always difficult to decide whether or not to release a kitty earlier. It is also difficult to decide whether to let the kitties go with the other cats or not. But I think you did everything right. Cats are very strong creatures and can cope with a lot. Hi. Happy to have you here and thank you. When searching for a family for a kitten or cat sometimes I used to decline many good applications waiting for the perfect family. But it never happened and in the end I regretted that I didn't let any of the good candidates have the cat/kitten. And yes, they are very strong indeed and adopt very fast.

@@ninelives2418 I can imagine how hard it will be for you to find the perfect family for the kitten. You feel responsible for the babies. But I think it may be easier for you to release the kittens in the future. I'm sure you can do it. Maybe you have the opportunity to bring the kittens to the new family, then you can see immediately whether it fits and how your feeling is. I definitely think it's great how you take care of it. Unfortunately I cannot adopt any kittens from you, I come from Germany and it is very difficult because of the entry requirements. But I support you here. Stay healthy and take care of yourself.
