What a beautiful music you chose to accompany this restauration! A peaceful church in the north english countryside. It makes me think of some song lyrics : "one man came in the name of Love, one man come...and go...".No comment on the restauration, perfect as always, not too much, just whats needed to let the wood tell its story. Really lovely job, anyone thinking of learning this craft either as a hobby or as a profession should do so, I couldn't think of anyone better than Rob to learn from. I can now buy a battered old gem that no one thinks is worth anything and transform it into a valuable and desirable piece in 2 days and I learnt how to do this by watching Rob's videos years ago, it would have been even better if I could have learnt from him in person. Again, thanks Rob, I owe you more than you know, you inspired me and now I have the courage to work on antiques worth £1000's. BTW I had a result the other day, I found a listing of 22 boxes of Nettlefolds brass screws from 1"/10 to 3/8ths/2 new old stock and most sizes in-between I was over the moon, I paid £70 the wife couldn't understand why I was so happy.

Where I used to work, there were some very large Teak Doors, that would be Frenched Polished, a French Polisher was on the books. But when there were cut backs, they sacked him and took out the Doors, to be replaced with cheap painted things.... The criminal side of the work they did when replacing the Doors, was, they Burnt, yes Burnt the old Teak Doors.
I hear this a lot , just burning history , sad ,let's hope theres a turn in the books soon , I think a few more people are starting to notice outlet reckless waste 🙏
Thankyou Rob, it's great to see you once again at work using traditional methods in restoring what those craftsman spent many hours creating and oft enhancing their work while respecting what you are working on. Your skill Rob, is a credit to their workmanship indeed.

Near my old home here in France they just demolished an old church without retrieving the nave/alter or statues or doors, they just bulldozed it and sent it to landfill ! I think that they took some stained glass but that's it. They said it was too dangerous to retrieve anything, they didn't even try. Another one gone.
Thought you were gone and then up pops a video. Mr. Polisher, your work on this door was stunning. Me thinking you would have to remove it from its hinges, but no! You English are a bright bunch! Clever working on the metal as well. When I saw the candle by the door, I thought, "Oh! He's stopped to pray!" Thought you might be drawing on a Higher Power for some polishing tips...and then I saw the beeswax comment...still and yet, you done good! Loved the ancient web decor on the hat. I hear it's a thing in France this year. Golly, gosh! If I were in the UK I'd sign up for your day class. Alas, the cost of flying over from the States - even to work with an artist such as yourself - would be prohibitive. Much admiration from the other side. (Not Adele. Just us Gringos.)
Its nice to see another video Rob, you truly restore what you work on, not refinish like many others on here, who then go on to lose all the charm and character of the piece through over aggressive sanding and stripping. Like others you inspired me to try french polishing myself and I loved the results on my parents 1950's chairs.

Great job getting rid of that previous awful finish. I can't say in polite company what i would like to say or do to whoever put that hideous coating on a church door. The evocative countryside reminded me of when i walked the 'Pennine Way' we celebrated our Geography teacher, who had walked it eight times, and went on to do ir another once twice before his retirement. Thank you for choosing such beautiful music. I watched all of your earlier restoration vids as they came out. This is the second or third time of me seaching for your channel, you have been missed by many. Its safe to say, you have certainly made quite a lasting and rather unique impression on your subscribers. May i ask where your traditional Flat Caps are from. I understand if that is a little trade secret of your dress style.
