@@StayTunedTA if you'd like to thank us you could stop with the music. That would be the biggest thanks you could give your audience. Not only do you play it far too loud, the music is horrendous and nobody wants to hear it anyway. Stop trying to recreate your failed show from motor trend. It failed. Try something different, and start with eliminating the f****** music
@@DildoModelsorta agree. The generic "punk rock" song over played gets annoying. It's like, yes dude, we know you're punk rock and you are cool, we get it!!
Tony & Barb That was a righteous thing to do !!! That fellers gonna love that car more than you could've/would've , solid motor , transmission and 4 link rear suspension + all the lights & brakes work !!! He's only gotta figure out the rest = a usable project car he can enjoy and slowly finish it how he wants !!! I commend you for the continuation of the life of that ole Buick !!! Well done Tony & company !!!! 👍 👍
Custom built-to-order transmissions are the dream. A spicy power plant gets all the attention, but a trans that gives you everything you want, with room to grow, is what transforms a classic car restoration from a looker to a driver. You’ll probably never have A/C or any safety features, but if you can drive for more than 15 minutes at a time, that’s a win.
Finishing touch should have been a Stay Tuned sticker on the back window. Very cool move on Tony’s part to give a feller back his dream car running & driving. Tony is cool AF.
I’ve always viewed Tony as a solid guy. This is above and beyond. Tony doesn’t have a million subscribers…..yet.Blessing someone like he’s doing can’t be cheap, especially after the struggle and not requiring anyone to buy merch. One of my favorite channels. No BS just some guys sharing what they love and having fun along the way. What an awesome act of kindness. It’s heartwarming for this old guy to know there is still some quality humans out there. Fan for life.
I like Tristan, he's got that sort of modern retro Rockabilly cool thing going on. That was probably part of the reserved reaction, I'm sure his brain was doing cartwheels.
Still dont know how the hell we arent at 1 million subs yet .... Imagine meeting Tristan and having him tell you the storey about his hotrod what a great storey that you Stay Tuned guys got to be a part of very cool 😊
"Yarn for a fan belt" is the most perfect "hot rodding" thing a kid in the mid-'60s would have done on a '55 Buford. LOVE IT. As soon as I saw those oil storage tanks, all I could think of (besides Sopranos intro) is "oh no, the Belt Parkway is coming, fughettaboutit..."
Tony and Derek are 2 of the best dudes period. And of course all the people around them are amazing as well. I just can't put into words well how much I live and admire these people. They're the absolute example for the rest of the car community to follow and do so much to keep it alive and thriving. I'm sure neither of them will see this but I just want to say how much I personally appreciate and respect them and what they do! This was amazing of you tony! I'd also like to add the music on this channel also absolutely rules!
Vicegrip makes way more off that rusty crap with his so called giveaways than they would ever be worth. Between the RU-vid and the merch. I wouldn’t be shocked if he wasn’t getting 5 times plus what they’d bring on the market. Pay attention and you’ll see all car channels once they get a little popular the “ giveaway “ starts because it makes bank. I’m mainly talking about VG , Casey’s customs and Cleetus to name a few. They making a killing on their giveaways. Tony probably didn’t make a lot on this one so this is as close to a total giveaway I’ve seen. Good for Tony
@@Robrt32I would rather buy merch from any of the people you mention and support a RU-vidr than pay a cable network subscription that benefits some executive.
@@SilverC8andDroppedC10 it’s your money to spend as you like. I was just saying don’t assume these big channels are giving cars away out of the goodness of their hearts. If it wasn’t making money. It wouldn’t be happening.
@@danjones1365 it’s fine but call it what it is. It’s a raffle, not a giveaway. I see soooooooo many people in the comments before saying awe they such a good giving person. They not giving sht away. They making more money than the used car salesman on your local corner Off crap that isn’t as good.. I’m not applying this to Tony. It’s the other big channels y’all drool over like school girls at a rock concert
What an awesome way to make someone's dream come true. No matter what you and the crew are up to, the episode is gonna be killer. I'm stoked you've gotten to be able to stay home in PA with your family and your boys doing what love. You're gonna hit 500k in the next 12 mos, guaranteed. Yall keep pumping out the content and we'll keep doing our thing. It's so easy for us. We've just gotta .. *STAY⚡️TUNED*
@@StayTunedTA You know when you walk around a car in the yard and dream of what it could be , compared to having something you can drive and start fixing up . The driver has a better chance for sure . Thanks Tony !
Back in the 70’s when women wore stocking and pantyhose i used a pair of stockings off the owners wife to repair a car that broke its belt and they came to the garage i worked at at that time to get it replaced by a belt and the owner said he didn’t notice any difference between the belt and the pantyhose , good thinking outside of the box using the yarn. You are the man Tony and that was the nicest thing to do to an old car , for the owner!
Tony and Barb - Tech Tip for filling with those lokar braided type dipstick tubes Get a garden sprayer 1 or 2 gallon from walmart or harbor freight. cut the wand nozzle off, that pipe fits exactly down into the lokar dipsticks. Get a tire valve stem, drill a hole in the sprayer tank and install the valve stem. Fill with ATF, pressurize with air hose, press trigger on wand to dispense! No mess No spills
It's not the destination... it's the trip. As a teenager I bought a 1958 Mercury Monterey and drove my brother to California from Boulder Colorado for Christmas vacation. It didn't have reverse, a tire bubbled on the way, a wheel bearing ate itself and we spent two days trying to get the bearing race off in a parking lot in Anaheim (ended up going to Disneyland for New Years). We made it back to Boulder (we had a few 8 track tapes... the Doors, the Beach Boys, and Cream, which we listened to until we couldn't stand them). I miss that car.
Agree with EVERYONE the '55 Buick Special IS AWESUM! My favorite Buick Special is the 1958. My step Mom had one when my 'ol Man married her in 1962 and I fell in love with all that chrome, that awesome dash and interior AND the Buick "nail head" V8 with glass packs absolutely blew my mind. I was 16, my car was a '53 Ford 4 door, 6 cyl, 3 on the tree my Dad gave me and I hated it,, I asked if I could drive her Buick and my Dad said,, "ABSOLUTELY NO!" At the time I was pissed,, but once I grew up I knew he made the right choice 🙂
Real Guys. Very nice gesture to fix and give the car back, I know you feel so much satisfaction in being able to. Keep up the good fight and don't stop doing what you do. You've become one of my absolute favorite hotrod channels.
We all know how Tristen sees his Buick in his mind. We've had those kind of dreams too. It will one day be his dream if he hangs onto it and just keeps at it. A few bucks here,, a few bucks there,, some work here, some work there. If he's patient it will happen. We hear storys all the time of people showing their car at car shows who tell of their keeping and working on a BEAUTIFULLY finished car a quarter century. Hang on to it Tristen
Love this video, literally exact same story for me, my girlfriends grandparents owned a 1956 Buick Special that I’ve watched sink into the ground but after doing farm work for them for the last year they’ve come to agreement that I’m family and gave me it. This’ll be my first project car and I’m so excited to see the old girl running again.
That was a really great thing you did by giving it back. BIG Thumbs Up brother. Mad respect for you! That guy is gonna keep it forever just because of the love you showed him by making it driveable and giving it to him after you done the hard work for free. I hope your channel explodes and God graces you to be able to do this for others. What a great show that would make. I owned an collision and restoration shop for 29 years. Ive done similar things to help my customers over the years. Its a great thing to help others that can't do it or cant afford to do it if you're able to. 🤜🤛
What a great thing to do! Giving the car all fixed up is so cool, but also working the bugs out of it as you brought it back. This channel is becoming one of the best automotive channels on youtube.
I love that you guys honor the car. Acknowledging that Tristen will cherish that car is amazing. So many people would care more about making money on the deal. Part of this hobby is all about keeping the cars alive and a big part of that is having the right owner. Great job guys!
You are a very honorable man Tony. You're right, this style of car isn't for everyone. Obviously Tristan bought the car because he loves it, so giving it back to him was the right thing to do..
OK fellas, you got me. This one got me because it was the absolute coolest thing you could do with this car. But without going all Hollywood ridiculous, you made sure everything was working correctly to the degree Tristan could get in and drive safely leaving only pure enjoyment. That was awesome and was totally worthy of my subscription. Excellent stuff for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
I don't know why tires with white lettering make an old car look tough, but they just do. Great That you gave Tristan his hot rod back. Hopefully he learns a lot keeping it going.
This channel is my new go-to for car content. You guys are keeping up the good stuff, and we thank you! Don't go the corporate sponsor route and sell out! We don't mind merch spots because that's YOUR stuff. Don't become a shill! Oh while I'm here, fuck Motor Trend for paywalling and shitting on Roadkill and Bike Skinnegan
I love how Tony has two driving modes. Leaned forward looping over the steering wheel like Grandma would or locked in just wide open. There is no in between.
You mentioned how heavy automatic transmissions are. I changed the 4L80E alone in my old k2500 a few times without a transmission jack. Back in my younger days. My most recent attempt required a jack. Google says 268lbs. The lifting part wasnt as difficult as getting the dowels lined up and a couple bellhousing bolts started then propping up the tailshaft. But aside from the new transmission jack, awesome video. I love the concept. You didn't have to do it but you gave Tristan his dream car. Keep up the great work, you're only one video away from losing the shop!
I wish somebody would do that with my dad's old truck. Since I don't have the money to put it back on the road it would be really nice to drive it again in his memory. Actually make a good truck for Derek for his TV show or one of his RU-vid videos, heck I'll just give him the truck.
The coolest thing about this, it’s a win win for everyone. He gets his car back running and driving, and he got paid from the sale, and I’m sure yall have made your money back and then some from RU-vid
Very cool idea to return this car to the previous owner better than you found it. My guess is he doesn’t have the knowledge, skill, or tools to do any of the stuff you guys did, so kudos to you for helping him to realize his dream.
This is one the coolest gestures ever... I know it's not first or last act of kindness and generosity, but something about punk rock kid from PA with his best friends giving a rockabilly barber his dream car hits me the feels. Bravo 👏 👏 Love this channel
Man! Your the man! The fact that you and Barb put all the work into this car and decide to give the guy his car back. That's amazing Tony! This is a prime example of why so many of us love your channel!
In today's day and age, someone with the means turning a car over like that is awesome..... Thank you for being a great guy and bringing pride to those of who are from the tri state
Tony, you are THE MAN. You've made the best car channel on the webs in no time flat, because you are such a good dude. Also funny as fu*k, the rainbow yarn was killing.
Pretty rad that you made the car run & .drive and then gave it back. Very nice of you. It's refreshing to see genuine acts of kindness like this. Way to go!
Very cool, man. I don't care what everybody else says, you are good people, Tony Angelo. I know that makes it sound like you are multiple people but that's the expression.
