mate this video should be labelled "TOP 5: Best Joystick 2020 as far as I know. Cause you obviously don't really know all the other great sticks that are available.
Thumbs up for your effort and understandable format, but the lack of any mention of Virpil flight controls which are easily the new standard for serious enthusiasts and only marginally more pricey than the warthog whose outdated hardware doesn't hold a candle, I can only presume you've never experienced or possibly even heard of them.
The Flight Yoke isn't just for commercial flight sims, it's also good for combat sims where you fly heavy bombers. Used a flight yoke when I played B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th years ago.
For a very budget system, I recommend getting FR-TEC Raptor Throttle and Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X separately. It adds up to about £80 where the HOTAS versions of each can cost anywhere from £110 to £200. It feels extremely high quality, has plenty of inputs and resembles a lot of in-game cockpits. The only downside is that although you can plug flight sticks into the throttle to save USB space, the Thrustmaster doesn't play well with that, mapping all the buttons to the hat and confusing the axes. But if you have two USB ports available, just switch the stick into the right mode and it's an incredible experience
Being away from sims for long time I thought to myself, "Hmm lets see what joysticks are available in this day and age..." First thing in thumbnail: Thrustmaster T.Flight! I had this on 98-99 and they only changed the color (was silver) and added 5 buttons on the base! Surprised this is still produced...
Hello Revisione, I am not the best with english language, but very nice and complete video, can you tell me the name of the program you used to create a good explanation with pictures like this, awesome for make my homework, thank you. greetings from Colombia
I wouldn't trade my good old CH Products Fighterstick for any of those (except the Thrustmaster Warthog obviously). Also, if you're going to include yokes, where is the Honeycomb Alpha (and Bravo)?
No Force feedback no good! the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Sticks looks and feel is not going to overcome the experience of feedback. Better off with a sidewinder force 2 it's still the one to use for flight simulation, just fit an old Thrustmaster top gun stick on it for great looks feel and feedback. Works for me.
@Mike Mayers force feedback will be back soon, then you will see, anyway the sidewinder is still the best, to be fair i mean for DCS helicopters, and my stick has been updated with longer stick and have fitted top gun joystick along with motor upgrades. Cost less than £60 and for the best VR experience it's a must. Thanks for your comment so how much are gunfighter mk3,s anyways .
@@Mark__smith Indeed. there are a couple of new force feedback joysticks on the market but they are all crazy expensive. It's probably best to get a FF2 until they start mass producing force feedback joysticks again.
I have the thrustmaster warthog, and this far, it is THE best joystick and throttle i ever used. HOW EVER, this thing has held the nr 1 spot for so long, it makes me wonder if any one ever will try and 1-up it...
@@zergslayer69 They sell out most of their production runs in minutes. They restock at 0600 GMT of Sat morning. People wait up to get one of their sticks, bases, throttles or rudders. They are almost always totally sold out again by Saturday morning in the US. Forget about getting it all at once. It took me three orders to get the entire Hotas and rudder set up. Most people who are seriously in the market for a high end stick know about the Virpil. Their marketing and their name is already sterling. What Virpil needs is more production.
I’m looking for a stick for the new Microsoft Flight Sim 2020. Would a joystick suffice for this or should I opt for something more like what you’ll find in an airliner?
Whats the difference between a cheap one and a expensive one? Im seriously asking, ive got one that has a few buttons and a throttle and works well, I don’t really need much more than that
Bah! I am not really young, I have played several flight simulators, and I have used various controllers accordingly. In reality, more or less, they all look a bit alike, someone has a function while another has other types of performance. What we should say instead is that these controllers all have a weak point, that of the attachment between the handle and the base. In that area, "dead zones" are formed almost immediately. In practice, when you move the stick bar, for a more or less long stretch, nothing happens. Then, suddenly, the controller kicks in, often with lightning-fast actions that are difficult to control. This problem is particularly harmful when landing. In fights, especially when facing several G-negatives, cohesion losses are produced during the return phase from a turn. The sudden rejections, characteristic of the "dead zones" of the controller, also produce unpleasant inconveniences when it is in the phase of refueling in flight. Over the years, I must say that the various versions of many new controllers have never made improvements to this problem. Ergonomics were concerned; of design; of the implementation of new functions, but the problem of trying to clear the dangerous "dead zones" has never been seriously addressed.
X56 is a decent hotas, as long as you purchase the logitech version... I've used it for 2 years and had zero problems. Although, if you have small hands, you may have ergonomic problems..
@@crocnockerable I have the original X55 stick (the Throttle unit went to hell in 2 months). It feels so clunky in SWS. How does your X56 stick feel by comparison? Thanks.
@@gamesturbator virtually the same stick mate... only real difference is the button mid way up the stick is also a joystick now... I find it way to twitchy to use, so only use it as a secondary fire button. All in all though still a great stick. As for SWS if you found the X55 clunky, then you will find the X56 clunky too... I think it comes down to finding the right button combinations....
I watched your video and bought the Logitech extreme 3Dpro.... Cannot be installed without major security downgrades to my PC. Returned it the same day. Great video, but this particular joystick is NOT for 2024 Edit, also just noticed that while your title says I Reviewed the best joysticks in 2024... you have 159k views since 4 years ago, maybe an update of the content instead of just the title...
I had a logitech attack 3d pro and it damaged somewhat quickly, it was out of calibration a lot and the use of some axis affected the others, when I moved to another country I bought the same model again thinking that it had only been bad luck and that if I bought it again I would not The same thing would happen to me again but I was wrong. When I buy another model it will be the one that is more accurate no matter how cheap it is, in conclusion with the logitech model you lose a lot of game time configuring
Your just reading a script of an article that has been republished over and over year after year, by the way it is "Hoe" - "Tass". Were is Virpil or VKB. You people don't know what you are taking about.
If the Logitech G Saitek pro has the same build quality as their Saitek farming equipment, I can only advice to stay away from it. I have always been a fan of Logitech as a budget gamer, seen their proper quality for even entry level equipment. (Still using a G27 steering wheel) Some drifting on the stick from start, the cruise control design is badly designed, and I'm a weak skinny guy and still fear to break the steering wheel one day. I HOPE the flight sim gear is better. If it wouldn't end up on a landfill it would be returned. Regardless of that, it's still hugely immersive and a blast to use.
Video made DEC 4 2019.... no probs Come Covid-19 a few weeks later.....Joysticks dissapear like the wind.....can't find a replacement for all the tea in China.
I've owned Logitech and Thrustmaster Hotas. They are very cheaply made. VKB and Virpil make superior products, but are very expensive. Still, I'd rather have something that lasts.
Bruh, not everyone has hundreds or thousands to shell out on those things. The cheapest from those companies are like double or even triple the cheap logitech ones, what did you expect?
T16000??? me and 4 of my elite dangeorus clan mates, same problem, some buttons start to fail 1 or 2 years later. So i don´t recomend that buy. Just search youtube and you will seeyour own.
Force feedback costs next to nothing to implement, its literally just two basic $0.50 DC motors and a couple of gears. The reason it doesn't have it is because its stuck in patent hell.
Never follow one of these. Mentions the Logitech stuff, it’s not the best but it is the best for the cost. And also the yoke is only used on the 737 mainly, and all other Boeing aircraft. Commercial planes use the side stick as well, like
@@BradleyGibbs thank you, and do you know if there are some problems with the USB connector? I mean, I think it has a 2.0 one and in my computer I only have 3.0 ones
@@TheOscar31_ USB 3 sockets are backwards compatible with all versions 1.1 and newer. The only time you will have compatibility issues is plugging a newer device into older hardware or if there aren't drivers for older hardware for newer OS's. But Windows 10 supports it, so you're good.
So incomplete.....so much missing in this video that it makes the title into something like a clickbait or fake title....sry, but pls reconsider all the better other Options; the pricey and the cheap ones
I hate joystick with spring, specially Logitech 3D. It is worse joystick I ever had. Just restarted IL-2, did not play decade. Plug Logitech 3D and suck. No matter how I calibrate it, it always pull up, so annoying like the Hell.
you are far away of the real world for me, Logitech pro is bad product, accuracy goind away too fast. warthog is without Z axe … useless without pedals .., and you miss … some Chineese model are great for the price. Virpil is a great manufacturer with more customization … is not TOP best 5 .. .but 5 joysticks.
With respect, let me please add my personal experience with the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro: It's extremely cheaply made. At the time of this comment, I've had mine less than a month. Most of the buttons stick, the twist yoke will not re-calibrate to a zero point, the "ergonomic" handle is not comfortable, and based on what I paid for it on Amazon, it was $40 too much. I do not recommend this joystick.
Extreme 3d This joystick is not of good quality . Simply and of poor quality . Turkish gamers dont like that shitstick and cant good play flight simulator . Wait for quality series thrustmaster joyticks . Like a airbus edition
@@bison5716 Logitech gear just doesn't last long except for their mice I have had too many of their products fail and their support is not up to par with the competition
