#Renovation #DIY #Bathroom In This Episode of Corbin Does Something I ripped tile off my wall from the 1960's. It was an ugly Pink Tile, and now it's gone. Check out what I found. I also don't know what I'm doing at all so that's fun.
There is a very good reason why more renovations where they remove tile in a bathroom involves removing the drywall the tile is attached to. It comes out much faster and the drywall doesn't take much work to put in. You can also see how much mold and rot you may have in the walls and repair it before it kills you.
Start calling it the Corbin Bell. Like, subscribe, and Ring the Corbin Bell. Slap the Corbin Bell. Tickle the Corbin Bell. Rub the Corbin Bell. Lick the Corbin Bell.
Next time remove your outlet cover prior to painting. After painting put back on. No worries and paint is smooth/ even around cover. Witch hazel or denatured alcohol will remove that grey paint on door trim. Rub lightly and if lucky no touch up white paint needed.
I am thinking about re glazing my bathroom tile floor. It looks like the same kind as this. Is that ceramic or porcelain? Does it matter or would I deglaze and color the same way? Thanks
@@AlanaReynolds_RealEstate It is Porcelain, if they did things right it would be porcelain in the bathroom. Pretty sure it would be the same process though
I would have ripped out and replaced the drywall instead. I ended up ripping the tile out around my whole bathroom, except the shower area, and fixing the wall was way more work than it would of been to just replace it. I ended up fixing as well as I could further up the wall but then putting wanes coating over the bottom half where it was ridiculously bad.
You got lucky. In my area, that type/time period of tile, They nail wire mesh straight to the studs, put a scratch coat over it, then about 1 1/4" + of mortar then the tile.
