I Rode 200+ Miles on Onsra TKP Trucks! Are they good?

In this video, I give my opinions on the ONSRA TKP trucks after riding them for over 200 miles. I'm happy to finally be able to make this review, and hope that it will be useful to people wanting to get into TKP trucks.
TKP trucks are often an easy transition from DKP due to the orientation of the hangers, in fact, some people would change Meepo DKP to TKP to make them more stable. They are definitely different than RKP and completely different than DKP, especially on the stock setup. Return to center on these trucks is very different, and they tend to be stable in the middle, which might make it easier for people to learn out of the box. They struggled a bit with maneuverability, but I hope to fix this with bushings.
The Black Mamba build is a 14s6p VESC-powered electric skateboard, using a MakerX D75, Flipsky 6374 motors, Onsra TKP trucks, Newbee Impaler rims, SKP tires, a Hummie deck, and a Zmote from Kamen on Tindie.

I found that a cone on the bottom of both trucks with the cup washers flipped upside down worked wonders for the maneuverability. The trucks are extremely stable even with bushings on the loose side. I had a speed wobble from a motor cutout on these trucks and it was fairly easy to ride out which is good cause I didn’t have knee pads on at the time.

I did end up flipping the washer and it helps a bit, didn't try it on the back yet. Need to get some more riptide bushings though cuz I don't have ones that are the right size. I think some chubbies would work well for these trucks.

Great Video As Usual! Im pretty confident that you can make it turn a little better by shaving down some of a bushing. I would not go to far as you might then rub the kingpin depending on the hangers design. I have seen designs that fit only certain bushings and some that you can adjust angle with the bushings. I have also seen some trucks where the hanger has a bushing on it that fits over the king pin. Im not sure all this is needed but I do think the changing angles with Bushings is kinda neat and could make for a more flexible hanger design for most esk8's.

Thanks! Interesting ideas. The bushings on these ones seem to be standard height, but because they have the little bit that's sticking out, I may have to modify a riptide one to get the same stability. Not sure.

I installed the Onsra TKP on my Mboards Endurance. They are very stable at high speed but, I sometimes miss the maneuverability of DKP. I'm running the green 90a Riptide bushings in the front and the maroon 93a in the back. I think I'll try flipping that washer over as well. 🍻

Yeah they don't seem to have the best responsiveness, but it really isn't a problem for most of my riding, it's just those moments when I'm going slow where I wish that I could turn a bit better haha

Late to the party but for whoever might be interested in these trucks here are some more bullet points. I have 2000 km on them thus far and they are very reliable for the most part. Axle retainment was a problem for me 3 of the 4 backed up, some of them multiple times. Had enough backlash to bend one of them. I ride only on urethane and even with 105 mad wheels the ground clearance is an issue between the kingpin and the road and they are mostly unusable with anything under 100mm. Despite these problems, I love these trucks. Fiy 2X93a riptide krank barrel out back and 90a riptide krank barrel roadside with 93a riptide krank barrel boardside with front cup reversed for a 160 lbs rider. The stock bushings are awful. ☺

Thanks for the feedback! I may try out that bushing combo. Haven't gotten the chance yet. Tried some 87a but they were too soft and got wobbly fast. After taking the stock axles out I was also concerned about their retainment but since I put in the new ones with retaining compound they haven't budged haha

I ride a nomad n1 and I have TKP trucks and that dead zone can help a lot if you swap out the washers, also you should get some double-barrel krank riptide bushings and pick the right durometer for your weight. I do know what you mean by there is a dead zone when your trucks are centered. I have tried a few different setups and that stays the same.

Loving those 7inch tyres myself. Running them on 60T 170kv motors on a Ownboard Carbon AT, older model. Still goes hard on 10s even. 66T 6in 38kmh 60T 6in 42kmh stock 60T 7in 50kmh❤ 47T 6in 55kmh P.s. used stock 60T metal Ownboard branded pulleys, used a grinder to grind down to flat plates and drilled the 5x holes to suite evolve wheels.

Ah nice! Yeah the SKP 7's are great. This was my first set of 7 inch street wheels I've ridden, it's a good inbetween size, 8 is great too, but this is better for torque.
