I was playing as a musician at the wedding and everything just kept going wrong. I played piano accompaniment for my friends a few weeks ago. That was a recording, and we only had little time to record. Without enough warm-up, we were nervous. Somehow, I couldn't read my music accurately, maybe the light was too bright. I played some wrong notes, without chance to re-record. I felt sorry to my friend, although they didn't blame on me. To be fair, I didn't get paid. And I'm not a professional pianist. So, there was some "risks" for sure. Thanks for reading my awkward story Hope you guys have enough time to practice and overcome anxiety😂

I do find this amusing to hear. Certainly the choices from the wedding lead to this awkward experience, but snap out of it! If you feel like the memories of that day still haunt you, I hope you can get to perform live again at a wedding or any event of that sort. Thank you for sharing this c:

I also have a story to share: During 8th grade, for God knows what reason my teachers assigned me the role of a love-stricken damsel in distress in a musical play. It was all fun and games during rehearsals but then when we had to perform it....🙃 It was specially embarrassing for me because I had a veryyy cheesy and dramatic song to sing and to make matters worse, there were four entire rows of boys from other schools😖 I swore to myself then and there I would never perform a role like that. EVER.😂

You shouldn't feel bad - it was 100% the fault of the bride ~ first she wanted to cheap out by using the chapel at her school and hiring inexperienced students at the lowest cost possible. There should have been a wedding rehearsal so you could iron out any problems like the ones you encountered such as the song not being long enough. She should have made sure that you were in a position where you could all see what was going on and someone should have come and warned you that the bride was about to walk down the aisle so you could all prepare to play the other song. On top of that it sounds like the bride made things awkward by stopping at the platform when you finished the song - if she had just kept walking she would have probably reached the groom in a few seconds and noone would even notice. Please don't feel guilty, you did what you were asked to do which is play some music. It's not your fault that the wedding was so disorganised.

That reminds me when I played at a wedding and it was me on the flute, and my friends on the saxophone, violin and cello and we had to play one piece outside the church because the priest didn’t agree for the piece to be played inside (it can’t remember what it was). We were all getting out of tune like crazy and the sheet music was fluing all over the place. Never playing at a wedeing again...

Personally, I purchase things very look at its value and purpose, I dont buy luxury fashions but I willing to buy a beautiful flute in reasonable high price according to my porkect. When I do have the intention to spend, and I recognize it is just my desire or a way of relaxation, then I will go somewhere suitable to feed my wants, probably end up with a bunch of ''useless'' items, and donate to NGO at the end.....

It' remind me when I screw up worship moment in my church youth group. Thats was my very first time leading the worship song (I play the piano). Im so nervous, I forget the note but I need to keep playing 😔 so I repeat D A C D chord 3times while trying to remember what should I do. Luckily the worship leader realize it and give me time to fix my brain. After that disaster I was about going to cry in Toilet but the worship leader call me to the stage and say "Nadya is so amazing, this is her first time play piano for our band and the first girl come to our practice every Wednesday"... oh my, may God bless him ❤

Ooohhh, this is really not something you should be so traumatized by! ❤ I ve been to a lot of weddings and other ceremonies in church like this, with even pro musicians, and let me tell you: this happens ALL THE TIME!! If you don't actually practice the entrance and exit, how are you able to tell how long you're gonna play for?? When I got married, we didn't rehearse that bit at all, I kinda like jogged up the aisle because it was so awkward, the organplayer certainly couldn't have known that before! Probably let me stand there at the altar and wait for him to finish, I don't remember. 🤪🤣 because it really doesn't matter! And like you said: communication. You should have agreed in the first place if this was important. Then it probably wasn't 😊 Keep on playing! 👏❤

I can totally relate coz I am from a Convent school and I did a lot of embarrassing things during my time there as well😂 I am 18 currently so yeah...we do a lot of things at this age that we will probably facepalm at ten years later😂 And yeah Toni I think your story time videos are really great coz it feels like a conversation with us❤

Its okay i had a breathing problem when i first played flute in school too and i stopped many times 😂 i was 17 too and it was because i was nervous and the mic didnt work well so i had to push more air to be heard Which was confusing btw i was with a pianist friend too 😂😂.. but thse are good memories haha
