Even playing the other games the story is super confusing after playing kh2 back on PS2 I jumped into kh3 and had to spend roughly 10 hours watching videos trying to figure out what's going on and I still barely get it

The actual 3rd Pirates movie is convoluted, but personally I don't find it confusing. For anyone who has never watched it and instead watched how KH3 made it ridiculously stale, none of the charm that movie still has, even if not being as good as the first. KH3 really shouldn't have included Pirates of the Caribbean ever, in my opinion. Even if there's some fun to be had in KH2 and KH3, even, bc some people do like the gameplay sections, from what I've heard. But lord... why did they think it was a good idea to put live action based 3D models next to cartoons and anime??? Why???
