The Coachman was gorgeous. We have a Swift we did start off with a Bailey took it out about six times then COVID happened. When we we're allowed to go out we sold it to the dealer we bought it off, we then got a motorhome but hated it so we swapped the MH for the Swift we now have. So really we are new to this. Thank you for being so helpful. Take care my lovelies 🥰😘 xxx
Hello again Maureen, my sister had a Motorhome but they felt cut off on sites and more often than not struggled with days out and trips to the supermarket. Hope you’re enjoying your Swift. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Martin, hope you're well. Yes it is an annual event, see the link to the 2023 show. www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/shows/show/the-malvern-caravan-motorhome-show Thanks for watching, cheers, Dave & Helen.
Hi you two. We were at the Malvern Show too only we stayed on the showground. It was really quite good and the evening entertainment was excellent. May very well go again this year (2023). Great vid by the way.
Small world. We enjoyed the show and to be honest we would go to more shows but they are nearly all Campervan & Motorhome shows which is not really our thing. Thanks for watching 👍👍
You see, there’s two sides to every coin Symone. For every reason why we keep finding a why not! Lovely vans though. Thanks for watching, ATB Dave and Helen 👍
@@HelenandDave ah in that case then it’s not for you, at least not now anyway. It’s a beautiful van, we wanted an end bed but settled for an island bed instead and it’s fine but I do find myself constantly looking at end bedroom vans!
Hi Neil, thanks very much for your comment and watching the video, appreciated. That’s a lovely van you have there, so why change? (That’s where we’re at too). Thanks again, ATB Dave and Helen 👍
Hi Dave., we live in the Cotswold however we love Suffolk and Norfolk and enjoy your adventures. We have just had a couple of days at the White Horse at Sibstin on your recomendations absolutely brilliant amazing food before moving on to the White House T Kessingland and eating at the waterfront. Thanks guys.
Hi Helen and Dave , great to see you both at the Malvern show , anytime you are down Gloucester way pop in and see us @ Golden Castle Caravans & Motorhomes , great video all the best Nick
Great video folks, not surprised you were tempted thats one nice caravan. Commiting to any big purchases the way things are going does take some real soul searching though.
Hi Keith & Alison, that's where my head is TBH. Once we get to site, I'm nearly always sat outside with a beer or cooking anyway. Hope you're both well. Thanks for watching ATB, Dave & Helen
Great Vlog Dave, and your comments on the bulkhead at the end of the bed if you are tall is exactly why we went ahead and purchased the Bailey instead of the Swift.
Enjoyed watching the vlog and subscribed now. We look forward to catching up with more in the future..Happy travels 😊 Take care, Steve…. We have a small channel too! ☺️👍💙
Thank You Paul, great to meet you too. Sadly, we can’t get to the NEC due to other commitments but hope you enjoy the show. Appreciate your support and best wishes to you both. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
Great video Dave and Helen, the first couple you spoke to is absolutely right, without guys like you we wouldn’t have a clue what to do, so if I haven’t said it before I will say it now thank you so much for your channel, have learned a lot from you and other vloggers, carry on with what you are doing, many thanks, 👍👍.
Hi dave & helen , great vlog , must admit we did have a soft spot for that coachman lusso , we saw one on a club site this year and they are a real head turner ! Thanks for showing around Mike & kirsty 👍😀
Hi Mike and Kirsty, have to agree, they are rather special. Our first show and really enjoyed it but not sure when we will get to another. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
We have an Elegance 850 and love the L shaped lounge. Don't have an issue with hitting my head or the bed being too short, although I am "only" 6ft! Agree about the tow car, you need one that can safely tow with suffient grunt. We have a Touarag which has been excellent (after having Range Rovers), I would recommend going to test one if you wanted to change (air suspension is best). Go and enjoy!
Hello Dave & Helen, you have made the right decision stick with the one you have got as it as you say got all you need , or if your savings are burning a hole in your pocket and you can't take it with you get a camper van to pull it 😍😍
The two way Series 10 Dometic fridges have a silver handle strips on each side of the door. The single side opening versions have black handles, they are reversible, but only open on one side at a time.
Hi Helen and Dave. Great video. Glad to see what Malvern Caravan and Motorhome looks like never been there . Don't change your caravan if you love it and it serves your needs. We realised that after looking around. Cheers Paul and Sarah
Hi Paul & Sarah, nice site but the phone signal and on site WIFI is very poor. Completely agree, I think we would be changing for changing sake. What we have serves us well. Watch this space. ATB Dave & Helen.
Hi Dave & Helen you have made the right decision we would all like a brand new caravan but you have a beautiful caravan like myself why trade in .Don’t waste your saving enjoy your money on other things in life . Best wishes Liz 😃
Hello Dave & Helen, A nice tour around the showground 👍and some super stylish caravans to tempt😃. We actually thought you bought the Bailey for a moment there. We’re off to the NEC soon but have no intention of exchanging. Time will tell…. All the best, Rob & Gail
Thanks Rob & Gail, this was a baby show compared to the NEC which sadly we are unable to attend. Keep your resistance high 😂 because they are certainly appealing. Hope you have a great time there. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
ALWAYS KNOW WHERE THE MRS IS!!!! - especially if you're somewhere where she can buy stuff!!! - great video, I love the curved wardrobes in that Bailey & the huge window - but I always think the more windows in your caravan the more of the greenhouse effect you get - ie too hot in summer & too cold in winter, plus I expect the sound insulation would suffer. Good to see what the show was like - I think we would prefer it to the big ones as less queuing etc.
Agree about the Swift you liked Dave, we had a french bed where my feet were against a wall, not fun at all and at 6’4”, bed sizes are biggest issue for me. Changed that for a Swift group one with layout just like you have now, great bed and is my personal favourite caravan we have owned, closely followed by our first Adria, jury still out on current one. Yes, it can be fatal going to any show or showroom even. Just went to look at accessories….big mistake. Remember doing that with a horse trailer too, only wanted some matching touch up paint…… Keep up with the great content, already have some of the local sites you reviewed to get round to as well.
Hi Mel, 😂😂 done plenty of that in the past too, which is probably why we are much more cautious now! Really appreciate you watching and leaving a comment and your continued support. Happy travels, Cheers Dave and Helen 👍
Whilst it is more common to see the two way fridge doors on larger and higher end models, I can't help but think that smaller, narrower caravans would benefit more from having two way door fridges. It would save having to push past whoever is in the kitchen preparing food and make for far more harmonious cohabitation in a small space. If it weren't for the added cost, I would even go as far as to say that it should be a standard feature.
Hi Andrew, thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment. We agree, 2 way door as a standard fit really should be the norm these days. ATB Dave & Helen.
Look at the bailey Cabrera ,it's lighter , I actually actually had alacanta on order, and was let down by the dealer ,so got the other van from Farnham leisure, very good alternative, and 4000 pounds cheaper
Hi been watching your videos in preparation for picking up mine and my husbands first caravan this week! Been loving all your content, it has been super helpful to know what to expect. We’ve talked about going to the Malvern caravan show this year (end of the week) do you know if it is dog friendly as there is little information on the website but can see lots of dogs in your video! Any information would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great content!
Hi, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. We took Bella around the whole show and into the display vans without any issues. We really enjoyed the show but sadly we can’t make it this year. Hope you have a great time. Cheers, Helen and Dave 👍
Hi 👋. New subscriber here have watched a few of your videos and loving them. I didn’t realise until this video that Helen has bad shoulders and arms, join my club! I was diagnosed with several conditions including shoulder osteoarthritis in January 2021 and advised to have bilateral shoulder replacements. At this point the NHS were still not doing elective surgery ( Covid). I couldn’t live with the pain any longer so I decided to go private. The op was done the following week to repair my right shoulder. I have never been pain free, but it is a lot easier I required further surgery 2 years later, ( subacromial decompression) on the same shoulder, this time under the NHS but same surgeon. It wasn’t easy to swap back! I haven’t yet decided to have my left one replaced, but will when the time is right. Please ensure you know what’s included in your payment cost. Like follow up appointments, dressings, how much physio is included. Happy to discuss privately if you wish. 🤣😂🤣😂 no charge!!!! Happy caravaning. We’re off to York in March, Essex in April and Dorset in June so far… hope to squeeze a few more in! Best of luck with the surgery… I really really do feel your pain. X
Hi Susan, many thanks for your comment, I'm interested to hear from fellow sufferers and how things have gone for you. I have heard from others who have pretty much echoed what you said. I would give anything to have a reduction in pain, the meds don't touch the sides and sleeping in bed is practically impossible. I have spent most nights sitting in a chair in the lounge since last October and as you will know it's also how it impacts you mentally. I will check out exactly what I'll be getting for my money. I have found quite a variation on price and just looked at one that is £7k cheaper and very close to home. I guess it's a bit of a lottery in terms of final outcomes because everyone responds differently. Thanks very much indeed for sharing your own experiences. Watch this space! Happy travels to York, Essex & Dorset. Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave ❤️ yes shop about. I paid just short of 11k for a ‘package price’ but was later billed for 2 extra post surgery outpatient appointments @ £300, as the package only includes 1. I was billed for physio after 6 sessions ( not nearly enough) I too was initially referred through NHS and had scan x Ray etc free. But then looking at package price that included 1st consultation and initial tests so in effect my surgeon was paid twice. We are in so much pain that we’ll pay anything to get relief and just see the end result. Mine I think got so bad (Covid delays) that my shoulder was worse than expected by the op so the result wasn’t what I expected. As I was afterwards still a private patient I had to fight to be put back as a NHS patient as had to be referred again by GP. I still take max amount of codeine, paracetamol, Naproxen and occasionally oromorph daily but believe it or not it isn’t as bad and do have some relief. Except I can’t sleep on my sides but am used to this now. Hugs and I’ll keep posted to see your progress. Good luck x
If you're in the market for a new caravan...wait for the new swift elegance range for 2023...Thay are a quantum leap in interior design... easily rival anything in Europe... take a look at the 835 I'm sure the wife will be impressed it's my personal favorite , might need a land Rover discovery to tow it but Thay would look great together!!.😎💕🇬🇧🇺🇦
Hi Dave, we were at Malvern as well shame we didn't see you. Just a bit curious why you didn't bring your caravan onto the site, are we missing something.
Hi Andy, always good to meet like minded people. We had tickets for the weekend but just did Friday in the end. We considered staying at the show ground but couldn’t take dogs in the venue and we opted for a hard standing pitch in case of a mud bath situation. We enjoyed the show very much. Thanks for watching. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
I’m the same with my 2009 Swift I’ve had from new, it’s not as Swish as some of the new models but it’s a great solid Van. Should I throw 20K at a new model? You can have lots of Holidays with 20K. It’ll probably stay.
Hi Colin, Now there's common sense for you. Completely agree with you. Hope you're well and thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers, Dave & Helen.
The old adage “it’s no point being the richest man in the graveyard” Caution is for when your younger we’ve just bought a brand new tow car and the new / newish caravan arrives in February/March we work hard all our life now is time to enjoy the spoils yes Dave your current van is beautiful but so is the Bailey go on enjoy yourself 🎉
Hi Terry, I know, especially when you had to work so hard to earn it in the first place. Must agree though, lovely van. Thanks for watching. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
there must be 1000s of unused new caravans stored somewhere.how many folk can afford £30000 and above.the normal caravaner is being priced out...I'll stick with my 2006 swift challenger thank you.
Hi thanks for watching and your comment. I think most people that buy these more expensive vans have either just retired (loads of cash) or those who have upgraded their caravans gradually over the years and have a good trade in value. We were actually offered what we paid for our caravan 4 years ago 👍 Most of all though if you’ve got a good caravan, why change it? Swift Challenger is a great van 👍 Thanks again, Dave & Helen 👍
