well the thing is, "picking the right dialogue option" as it was so eloquently worded IS part of a section of asd traits called "masking" (as in, optimizing social interactions in order to "mask" as a "normal" person). so the fact this resonated so much with him says a lot LOL

I'd like to weigh-into this conversation (not that NL is likely to read this, but it could help). I agree, "avoiding social awkwardness" is just neurodivergent behaviour. It's tied into masking as a survival instinct, where one notices more social cues than a neurotypical person, so they do what they can to not stick out. This often manifests in echolalia (mimicking a person's language and energy) and echopraxia (mimicking a person's body language). I think it would be fair to say that if NL has a special interest, trivia would be likely - I mean have you seen this guy cine2nerdle? I would say he exibits as much ADHD as Autism though, if not more, although it's interesting how often these go hand-in-hand.

The conversation in the beginnings about your friends blowing up being the funniest thing was very true for my friend group too. That’s when all the best roasts came out. That’s when the most out of pocket stuff was said. All great times. Never any real hatred either, usually just extreme banter about being bad at games and such

Many subscribers is meaningless, a bag of home Depot soil would have many subscribers because the masses are dumb and have no standards. That said, NL is a good streamer I'm only saying subs is nothing in this context.
