Hello guys! Come along with me as I go through the GTA to get to my delivery, except I go to the wrong spot!! 2006 Peterbilt 379 CAT C15 MXS 650hp B-Train Flatbed Trailers
Drove B trains for over 3 decades. Most of our deliveries were easy in/easy out (gas stations etc.) but any time I had an unfamiliar call and/or a place I couldn't see an exit from, I'd go for a walk and scope it out first. Nothing takes the "good" out of a day quicker than "Oh Oh!" 😄
Oh yeah I try to do that every time too but I had nowhere to park beforehand this time. I scoped the place out on Google maps beforehand but sometimes ya don’t know what entrance they’re going to want you to take so you just kinda guess!
I do the exact same I dive A trains even if I have to block the street for 5 minutes I just put my hazards on and go for a quick walk learned that the hard way
I have full respect for u, someone that can back b-trains like it's a pickup truck and trailer, and work under pressure plus work in tight spaces with a semi is a legend to me. I can take advice from my dad and u when it comes to driving a large car, someone day I can use it.💙👍
Dude.. You are one hell of a driver. Backing those B trains up like a champ. Would have taken me hours to get out of that predicament. You're a true pro.
Awesome video. I know I wouldn't be that calm backing a b train up. But I know a couple guys that pull doubles and triples, and when they have to back up they use a drone. They send the drone straight up over top of their truck, so they can see cars coming from both directions and also see any blind spots nearby.
I've only been on b trains for two months now. My first real challenge was after the first month I had to drop them off at a small garage on a rural road for service. Ended up having to blind side them off the road around their parked cars, between the shop and another trailer, a whole lot of getting out to look. Major kudos here.
i say some of those cars that parked right there sure move on the spot where they work at cuz the job site sure have parking spot cross from them also a truck back up or around into the area
Your videos - especially these where you negotiate brainless 4-wheelers with 100% cool and safe manner - should be mandatory training material for all new drivers. Absolutely perfect driving.
20 years of pulling B trains I always walked in first, so I didn’t get in those positions. But it always seems to have a way of happening know matter how much you prepare. Nice job backing out.
I delivered some of the utility poles inside that fence with a stretched out trombone trailer and a tri drive self loader . Well done getting around down there
I deliver there quite often in the summer months when we're hauling lots of brick. As soon as ur said u were on eglington and going to Jane I thought to myself oh boy he's going to skycon and he's gonna turn into the driveway with thos trains lol. Good work tho man!
Been there many times. It's even more fun with another 3 or 4 trucks making deliveries. I was lucky and told ahead of time to get unloaded at the cul de sac.
I feel you man. This is why I quitted trucking. I used to drive lowboy and they will send me to place where trucks have no business of being or send you to the wrong jobsite. Too stressful.
i was literally in that area 2weeks ago and did the same thing! lol I was suppose to go to city yard which was your first entrance lol its a tight little rd, turn around was good saved my but!
broo you are a bad ass for doing this shit in toronto. i drive a ford f750 bucket truck and chipper in Toronto/Etobicoke for work and sometimes it is mirror to mirror on some streets. hats off to you buddy. savage
That place is a pita even when you unload in the cul de sac. At least everyone seems to work together to make the best of a bad situation. So glad l don't go there in the winter with snow piles to deal with.
I deliver to Senso Building supplies all the time with 5/6 axle flatbeds for drywall. The second I saw you turning into the exit, I was yelling at the computer. Nooooooo. That area is such a shit hole!!!
this is my fear when it comes to trucking. i only drive a 26ft box truck and situations like this make me want to die. i think i would actually die if i ended up in the same situation on a big rig.
I never had the urge to want to even try B trains. On that intersection you said “can’t take that lane” I would have 100 percent taken that lane. Also, would recommend getting a steering wheel spinner knob. Makes quick turns with just one hand while shifting so much easier and smooth.
They definately need to move things around! Our at least extend the sides of the road for everyone. Fully loaded trailer ripping through the grass and dirt is definately Harder on the trucks and the property
I have a 389 with a bigger sleeper and haul 53' tandem and tridems for Loblaws. My area is generally Montreal. Many are not designed for my size truck, can barely get a daycare in some. Not fun.
Can you post a how to video on how you back up B trains. I was just given a set at work and pulled into a driveway yesterday and had to back down the entire road to turn around. More stress than I enjoyed lol
Flatbedder just practice backing up a lot. Straight backing b trains make small corrections. When backing around corners learn to use all the road particularly setting up your rear trailer initially makes all the difference . As you progress you will get a feel for the positioning and angles to get the b or super b into some very tight spots. Don't ever be ashamed to stop and get out and look if you don't know your clearances. Better a slight delay than filling out an accident report because I didn't look. The front trailer is the steering for the rear and the tractor at times has to do an extreme angle to initiate or correct an angle provided there is enough room to manouvere, but all that comes with experience. Good Luck. Ps I have had at times had to parrallel park a b train but that came with a lot of previous practice,
Look at that, a B Train from the company I work for! I haul the new Lode King trailers from the manufacturer back to our yards in Ontario! A tight spot but you pulled if off!
i hardly ever ask for spotters, i cant stand them throwing their arms up waving all over yelling and making no sense, hell of a hole you had to back out of lol glad ya made it
