Loved this video mate. Appreciate your interest in finding white pointers in your area. I’m really looking forward to the day you’re able to show us you’ve found them. Also interesting to see how you keep your boat moored on the water and not trailered. I’m a mad keen lifelong recreational fisherman that lives in South Australia. My boat lives on a trailer at home and gets towed and launched each time I use it. My boat is a 1986 4.6m runabout and it’s powered with a 1991 90hp Yamaha outboard. I bought this when I was 21 in 2001 and still own the same setup. I’ve been up to 45 kilometres straight offshore in it and regularly head anywhere from twenty to fourty kilometres from the boat ramp. I’ve always had the engine serviced annually and flush it routinely each day after use. It’s still purring along and getting me home. Like you say in your video if you look after things they generally look after you. I hope you are able to find the same confidence in your boat and engine, whatever you end up doing. I guess I’m actually quite lucky to have seen dozens of white pointers over the years while fishing. From about 7 feet up to around 16 or so. Each time they silently appear and take your breath away. One thing I can recommend you add to your berley slick is tuna oil or minced tuna. Most of the time I have had white sharks appear whilst fishing has been when I’m targeting fish using a fish based berley soaked in tuna oil. The other thing is most of my encounters have been within five kilometres of the coastline in water under twenty metres deep, and often in only six to ten metres in depth. I’ve never personally seen one in water deeper than fourty metres but obviously they are out there. Keep filming your exploits mate and as I’ve said, I’m looking forward to the day you can show us or tell us about the fact that white pointers can now be classified as a shark that can occasionally be found in British waters. Best of luck with your endeavours. 👍👍👍👍
Get some videos up mate! I’m over here and have been for 30 odd years but born in Brissie. Just bought my first rib ready for next year, and love watching all the Aussie boat adventures - rokkitkit, that bloke with the glider, can’t get enough of it.
@@AirbornePirates would love to see a large porebeagle in our waters, where are porebeagles most likely to be found around Britain? X was there any update about the 2 sand tigers that washed up a while ago?x
I was recently talking with a manager of a fish market in Devon. I asked him about the possibility of great whites in our waters. "With out a doubt" was his response. Local fishermen and his own family that goes back generations in the industry believe they are here.
Absolutely would love to invite you down to Plymouth for next Summer's Blue Shark swims, was speaking to the crew of Plymouth Marine Safari last night, they said they'd be more than happy for you to film aboard etc! Fingers crossed we get a better summer in 2024! Keep up the great work, love the videos!
Wet windy and misty, fairly standard summer for the Island. It's why the island is so green and beautiful. Seen from 30 thousand feet on a sunny day the Island is a stunning green emerald..
I think many people are going to say the same, but for a different location... You simply must go to Hayling island in Hampshire, the East Entrance to Langstone Harbour between Hayling and Selsey. I and many others believe, this is the spot where you succeed. Sightings have been consistent. Deep channels, shallow banks, growing seal colony. Cheers.
I agree about them in our waters, In 1990, an old fella at Port Maddoch told us about Great White’s a few miles off shore which he’d seen over the years, he also said they get giant turtles every now and then too. Had no reason to disbelieve him 👍👍
@@james505ism depends if you glass is half full or half empty, half full tells me maybe I should believe him, rather than half empty not believe. This is also the perfect Channel for them to travel in, so who knows?????
@@everchangingskies I can positively confirm there are zero great whites in porthmadog... but I can confirm there ARE giant leather back turtles, although rare
I definitely think there are some bad ass sharks off the coast of Weybourne, North Norfolk…that seal pup freshly bitten in half I found on the beach there plus absolutely loads of seal bones makes me think it is a humongous killing ground for sharks - possibly great whites and this was in February 2022
A killer whale washed up there in 2020 though. But hey… I expect there are Great Whites in UK waters, just very rare but the waters are warming and seal populations growing, I think GW sharks will become less rare here.
I'm in England born and bred and love sharks i think they are amazing creatures and I've always said great white sharks come to our waters probably passing through but now i don't think it will be long until they become our residents. I was 8 years old in 1992 that seems so long ago now
I went shark diving in South Africa in July... literally nothing, no great whites, no coppers, just empty and tame... its a sad state when Gansbaii, the place regarded as the Great White Shark Capital of the world, is devoid of any sharks
@@rottweilerfun9520 No those two fuckers didnt even have the decency to show up seen as they caused the problem in the first place... Two Orcas literally managed to waste £1600 of my sodding money... XD
@@skycloud4802 Yeah two of them did, after a few years of the white sharks being missing, they found them further up the coast however, but its amazing how two Orcas can change the entire balance of an eco system
Yeah they are all going up the coast, Port Elizabeth, East London and wild coast. Although Nahoon has always had them, they getting more and more common.
I was down in Newquay last month and I couldn’t believe how warm the sea was never seen it that warm before… sharks 🦈 are on the way to a beach near us soon
This summer we have a lot of tuna in Öresund ( the strait between Denmark and Sweden) for the first time in recent history, so be sure; the Great Whits are coming our way soon 👀
Grey Seal pupping from now till November off the Pembrokeshire Coast around St Govans head along to Freshwater West is where you will find a Porker /White Pointer
My friend swam the English channel years ago and he told me when at one point he was out there by himself, support boat way behind for some reason..and he swears he had a 20 ft great white swim right under him... I think tasting him with those in skin taste buds!!!!!!
With the amount of seals around our cast something has to predate them or our echo system is Done. We have seals in our fresh water rivers in the south East. Eating all the course fish. Bad times. Loved your update.😊
Excitement over, my mate has just sent another video from a different angle and unfortunately it is a Basking shark, a big one too. Imagine that, it's not the same type I saw in October, however it is in same vicinity. Sorry about that 😔 Be great if you could tow Charlie bhoy up to Dunbar and search area.
Mate I wouldn't worry about going further out with that motor of yours. I've you've used it several times and it behaves fine then no reason to doubt it, plus you have the backup. Your warrior and motor may have a few years on them but absolutely nothing wrong with that bud. My Coastworker 180 is an early 80s build and the Honda 90 I've got on it is 1996 motor but I would happily go out a distance on it without thinking twice about it. Been out to the liverpool wreck before out from the south, which is a good few miles out and no issues whasoever. Worst case is having to use the backup to come back in and yes it would take some time but just a nuisance as long as you know the backup is solid and the weather is reasonable. Honestly no reason to 'need' a newer boat or motor based on yours being a bit old, but if you just fancy newer stuff then fair enough.
Out fishing last month...talking to a guy who mentioned there is a photo of a Great White that was caught in Luce Bay way back in the day. Credible guy...no reason whatsoever to disbelieve him.
i used to have a seahog with a mariner 60 hp big foot 15 /20 offshore is not a problem as long as your engine is maintained i now have a warrior 175 with a 140 hp suzuki and ive spent more on this suzuki than i ever did on the mariner tight lines Alain
if your engine is in good condition why swap it save your money and look for a bigger boat love my 175 and the 140 is great ill not be taking it to the dealers anymore for ill do it myself as i did with the mariner @@AirbornePirates
It was only yesterday I was reading that the UK climate is similar to South Africa due to climate change. Bring on the sharks 🦈 let's hope for better luck next year 👨🚒👩🚒✌️💯
Heading that way from Arizona next week boys.Hope to get a few outings on my sib weather depending at lomond and over on Arran. You guys ever thought of being a support vehicle? Doing a mad run from larg,s to Brodick or something similar and inviting any one with a sib to join you? Think you would get a great turn out and it would make for some mad footage loads of sibs crossing with the blue spur. Keep up the cracking videos 🍻
Subscribed 😊 I’d totally love for there to be great whites in British waters I’ve been fascinated by them since I was young. I wish u the best of luck in this mission to find one. Thank you sir for doing what others can’t or won’t … safe travels my man and please keep up the grind 🤞🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for your great updates love your channel I’ve been watching it since you first started all the Best & Sending love from Englands 4th Largest City of Steel Sheffield UK 🇬🇧 all Day! SWFC 💙👍👊 Hillsborough Stadium!!!
Definitely a long game to get confirmed proof, but I think we will see it and are closer than ever. Everyone now has a camera in their pockets ready to record proof! This increases the chances! Looking forward to following you again in 2024. Good Luck!
Absolutely no reason..for great white sharks not to be in UK. Plentiful food supply. Perfect water temps. Coupled with their capacity's to travel great distances. You have a greater understanding of how to set a scent trail and stuff. In south Africa when the whites were hunted by anglers 30 yrs ago. The bait of choice was a smooth hound. As great whites also predate upon other sharks as a staple diet. The cliffs of Moher in western Ireland has a resident porbeagle pack patrolling above and around a sea rock up crop just off the shore...At least they were there 20 yrs ago. They are much closer to shore espically porbeagle sharks on the north side of Cornwall. British record came from there I believe...Good shark fishing advice from the Fish Locker u tube channel. He will be getting into them right about this time of year. He hooked into something that snapped his hook about this time last yr . The incident should be on his video selection if you research Keep an eye out for other new warm water species such as hammers and such...
I know nothing of filming equipment nor do i know much about how you would go about this but it would an interesting experiment to leave some surface chum and a go pro out at sea for a number of days then review the footage. Cheers for the content already
Apparently the 2 orcas were last seen a couple of months ago chasing a great white. They've not been seen since but the shark has. I heard this about 3 weeks ago so not sure if they've been seen in the last few weeks but if they got fucked up, they had it coming. Pretty sure it was a Shark Bytes video that I got that from btw if you wanna check it out
They are in Cornwall, bro right now! We only get a few each year, they don’t stick around for very long I would imagine that juveniles in that they mainly go for flatfish and Rays! I would expect that if that’s not the case, there is some kind of ecological reason why they don’t come here. Personally, I believe they do based on what I’ve seen myself.😮
Hi mate I seen today on the news about another shark attack in Egypt a lady lost her arm. What's your thoughts on why this is happening so much there especially this year so far? My thought was are people panicking when they now see a shark out there now because of the fatal attack early on this year Or is it more to do with the sharks themselves. I hope you don't mind me asking a non UK shark related question
Hope you find some sharks next year. I tested a new filming rig for my GoPro and lights here in Shetland yesterday. 50 mins bottom time in 35 metres of water. Video is on my page. Only Saithe at the bait bag, but I was just testing the rig in a sheltered location. Hoping to film Skate and maybe even Porbeagle Sharks in the future. I got some photos of Orcas (27's pod) off the east side of Shetland today, 65's pod were in Orkney. Will let you know if I have any success with the filming rig in the future.
Tbh ..I’m not confidant I’d want to go out too far in a small boat..and to be wise ,it wouldn’t be sensible to do it. Let’s hope you can eventually get a more suitable boat to venture a little further. Thanks for the videos and your search so far..I think as I read some years ago a great white was caught off the coast of france In 1922…a rather large one.
The warrior is plenty suitable, they cross Irish Sea all the time. One I showed in this video opposite mine went 44 miles out yesterday. Thanks Susan all the best
unlucky with the searchin' fella, better luck next time, needle in a haystack i suppose, but i'm with ya that they're out there!i! 😎👍 🌊 🌊🚤🌊🌊 🦈 & nice to hear about how the boat's doin' if you're ever Torbay way in Devon, it'd be awesome to hookup 🪝 😂 for a pint & chat about the beautiful beast 😉 respect too your work & whitey's have been a fascination of mine since i was knee-hi too a Grasshopper anywho, keep the faith 🙏 🔭👀 & happy huntin' Respek 🙏😎👌 🦈
A newer engine is all you need I have a 5.8 mtr number destroyer rib with a Yamaha 100hp 4 stroke with 318hr on engine great boat but I have been toying with the idea of a warrior or something similar
I mentioned a few months ago whilst out at night in October with my son off Dunbar at North see/ firth of forth a very large shark 17ft jumped out water next to my arm amongst large school of Dolphins. I was peed off my son was taken pics at opposite side and hence no proof. However, i have checked many site's to try and recognise this beast and yes i can honestly say it was a GW in my opinion. Never a Dolphin. Shame it was a split second only. Anyways, thanks for all your smashing videos during your search for different species and remember to take the wee captain out for next speed test ! Good luck next season and hopefully we get to witness the elusive big fish 🐟 soon. Thanks again
The mediterranean is grossly overfished n shark populations have collapsed, any great whites are extremely rare now n for any to continue to britain is extremely unlikely n still unrecorded despite our seas being some of the most fished/busiest seas in the world for centuries imo.
@@petersmith5915 exactly, your opinion, researchers know great whites are given birth in the Mediterranean, yes they are rare, but there’s no reason why juveniles don’t come to the uk on the “rare” occasion, to dismiss it totally is not helping the great whites at all or protecting them
@@Rottweiler-life theyve only been spotted off lampedusa which is closer to north africa than italy, so like in america where they swim up the coast to canada, they also swim up along the coast of africa to north africa, probably been following the same migration routes for hundreds of thousands if not millions of years, thats why u will not see any near britain, the migration route is not there, if u care about them at least understand them, they arent so mindless they need to come to britain for seals, theyd never break their migration patterns n if there was no food where they do live, theyd most likely go extinct imo.
I’d keen searching…I think they will turn up. Plenty of Dolphins off the South West coast. Also, why not just buy a new engine god boat instead of whole new boat? Be like a new boat then
Enjoying the videos spot on and i think we do poss have them but a lot further out maybe' but then again we only live across the water from you near clevleys Blackpool and there has been a number of dolphin sightings quite close in too so never say never. 🙂
Its impossible to say a particular species has never been in a certain area. However we havent had a difinitive sighting (confirmed etc) despite food and sea temperatures being condusive to the species. I personally think that the huge amount of people present around our coasts would have seen a GW if they'd been here. Im afraid youd be hard pressed to bump into a Tope swimming in the UK. Boring but true.
@@AirbornePirates yeah sorry not been there in a while it has a cafe and it's where the seals congregate,I forget the name. My Mrs' relative donated it to the island many years ago.
As a keen shark fisherman when chumming and waiting for a run you do not always see the fish near the surface, some fish stay deep and you would never know they were there, i had a porbeagle last weekend of 400lb from north cornwall that did just that so to say you never saw any does not mean they are not there .Good luck in your search next year.
Nah all the Great Whites are here, we see them often.Eastern Cape, South Africa. UK and those places are one of the few places you can still get a wave without worrying about what is under you, enjoy it...believe me!
I mentioned about Great whites in British waters to another you tuber who fishes in British waters, his reply was hilarious..I doubt he will believe anything until it bites him on the ass.
@@AirbornePirates No one knows what’s out there mate..Just look at the Monsters that have been caught in the med over the years, Lydia swam up through the Irish coast a few years back.
Howdo mate. I've been getting, more and more dubious about ocearch, so thanks for your opinion. It's noones fault (maybe Putin?!?). 3 years of umming and ahhing, seem to be finally over. Cheers.
GROW SOME BALLZ AND GO OUT 20 MILES hahahahahahaha OYZ would do it hahah, i got a sib, and i;m new to this, done a few 7 mile or so outbound trips, whats the worse that can happen ? :P *touch wood*
I was only winding you up hahaha, watched all yer videos, love your content, bought myself a honwave sib after your video setting up in the hail stone hahah
