I had a gifted child. Teachers were always telling me the child was bored and not paying attention. I responded that as the teacher it's their job to figure out how to motivate. At one point I did home school but it was for ethical reasons.

Becca that title almost gave me a heartache...but you take your time boo. I'm torn because my oldest was one of them kids that literally got bored with regular school work cause it didn't challenge her enough until I asked them to test her and see if she could be moved to the Gifted program and she is now a college junior...... Lily would be a good fit for that see if they can test her cause she is so smart

Children need stability and boundaries. There will always be things that you won't approve of, but communication will make the difference. Children are resilient. The whole school environment with teachers and classmates could be lasting experiences in relationships. If they get bored in the classroom, it could be that they have gifts or talents that need to be guided.

It’s glad to see both of you together!!!!!! Take your time regarding homeschooling. Maybe Lili needs to be placed in a different school. Socialization with kids is very important so she knows how to get along with other children. Becca, take your time. You and Brian will know when it’s time for you to get married. Me too and if I don’t pray for my future husband, he’ll never come. I’ve been feeling discomfort and discouraged about talking about the topic. People always rave and rant about how wonderful marriage could be but never talk about the downs. Marriage these days are often obsessing over the idea of marriage. It’s constantly being forced down my throat and it doesn’t help when in the church I go to, it’s like I can’t make the decision for myself as a 23, almost 24 year old woman and as if I’m not allowed to marry a man from another church in our fellowship. They’ll always talk about the “sons of Benjamin” and I would never know what that means. I want to make my own decisions and not others make them for me. I don’t want what happened to my older sister’s wedding to happen to me. I want to take things slow. Get to know the person. Make sure they’re the one before I know they’re the one before making a final decision for myself that they’re the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I’m not in a rush and I’m always told that I need to enjoy my singleness before I commit to something that completely life altering and life changing.

Home schooling takes a lot of work and I definitely don't think that it's the best idea, but do whatever you feel is right is right for you & your kids, but it's definitely hard work!

Sorry Rachael, I have to agree with Rebecca in regards to home schooling. If Lillian is gifted, then she has to learn to finish her work before she starts daydreaming. Discipline, girl. It won't work right away, but with patience, it will work. Trust me, she will eventually get it and want her privileges back. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Home schooling is an individual choice. If you think your children are gifted, have them tested to verify your suspension. I think kids need balance and socialization of their peers is so important for their development. However, you know your child(ren).

Hi Rachel as a teacher, am encouraging you to continue working with Lillian at home . Give her a higher grade level work to complete at home and explain to her in school she would be reviewing work materials you have already thought her. And allow her to role play and teach Josiah what she knows focusing on what she has learned from school and reward her.🥰🥰🥰 I really enjoy watching you all.

I don't think home schooling is a good idea. Sometimes kids they need to be kids and have fun with others at school. The teachers are trained on how to educate children more than parents. Kids need to explore and see how things done out there than always feel locked in the house

Homeschooling can be great, but yes socialization, free play time & hands on learning is super necessary as well. So as long as your program/schedule includes a lot of structure and opportunity than yesss, blessings to you and your plans.

I think you should find a gifted school to put her in. Lesson planning for gifted students is not easy, neither is keeping them focused. Plus I truly think kids need that daily interaction with other kids, especially when they’re young. However, I’m sure you’ll do what’s best for your children 🥰
