I SENT MONSTER TONERS TO PCGS FOR GRADING! | GUESS THE GRADE 

I really appreciate the kind words. I have been trying to develop my grading skills because of how important it is in the high end coin world. I TOTALLY agree with you about not abusing the term MONSTER toning. I essentially used it to pull in more people to hopefully see this video. 🙂 The last quarter is definitely an absolutely beautiful art piece.

@@PremiumRareCoins Yeah, very well done. You had lots of beauties here. That last one was the cherry on top. And being able to call higher grades like that so consistently isn't something you see often. Although I do hate the holders for toned coins. The reflections kinda ruin it. I like seeing the coin in open air. I just use the custom fit round capsules to house the best ones in. I can always holder them later when I want to sell, when grading gets more perfected and cheaper. For now I like mine raw. I store some of them in their original environment to tone up longer. Like I have some in original 3rd party set holders made of gel and cardboard. I have a PO-1 dollar that's perfectly slick. It was a magicians coin, never dropped or scratched. Got that one sitting on a rabbit pelt.... get it? Magician and the rabbit. 🐇 🎩 hehehe. It's a George V silver dollar, 1936 very simmilar to the one in my pfp. They cure the pelt with a sulfur compound, so 50 years of off gassing should tone it up nicely in some way.

@@TheWinstonDouble Thank you! I’ve definitely been getting better at grading as I see more and more coins on a daily basis. I used to keep a lot of my coins raw, but I’ve learned over the years that you will get a lot more for your coins when you decide to sell when they’re graded rather than RAW. In the high end toner world, it’s hard to convince someone to buy a raw MONSTER toner. People like the safety of knowing the coin’s color is original and not tampered with in any way. It’s cool because I have video and photographic evidence of where these toned coins came from and were stored in their original rolls. I love low ball coins so that’s super cool!

Thank you, I’m honestly ok with how the lighting turned out on the video. I may try dimming the lighting slightly next time. W/O the light, the coins would be much more dull with little to no color shining through.

I appreciate the constructive criticism, however I don’t use any additional light or lighting to enhance the look of these coins. The light you are referring to is your normal everyday sealing light bulb. I like to use the light in a circular pattern like most RU-vidrs to display the coins wonderful colors and luster. If I did not use the light, the colors would appear much darker and have a lot less pop in the video. I may experiment with a different angle next time I film. I spent a little over $300.00 to get all of these coins graded. The coins pretty much all came back the way I wanted so it was definitely worth it. Price guides price out all of these coins down low on a retail stand point. What makes all of these coins valuable is the rare and vibrant colors on them (especially the quarters).

Your argument and concerns make a lot of sense. Coin eye appeal really doesn’t play as much of a part in grading as people may think. Usually you can get a + or even a whole grade bump if color is REALLY nice. It’s hard to pull it off though.

Thank you very much! I have heard this theory before. As to its legitimacy I’m not really sure. The inconsistencies in grading are definitely prevalent in both the high end and low end coin market. There’s a reason people pay so much money for CAC approved coins.

Every holder is unique in its own respect. I personally love old rattlers, and green OGH PCGS holders.

Yes they’ve done many different colors over the years. As of late it’s been grey and black. Black has been what they now mainly use. I like the unique colored ones best.

The 1795 half dime is the only one I actually called. You have to look at the rim on stuff like that. When it's worn slick into the coin in multiple areas, it's AG or lower. For a good or better you need a full rim pretty much. Great detail though for an AG. The bend somewhat helped it oddly enough.

Yeah, I’m not sure what they would have called them, but I’ve heard a lot of horror stories of people sending nice coins to CACG. I think I’m going to wait for a bit and let other people lose money on sending coins to them. Once CACG realizes people don’t want details on all of their nice coins they might start loosening up.

It's funny because I have quite a few CAC/PCGS or NGC toners that are heavily toned like these. CACG seems to view them differently

I’m not sure what this comment means overall, but I mean you can go look at all the photos of the 54s quarters on PCGS.com. Also you can scroll through auction records on Heritage/Great Collections/eBay and see this is the best out of all of them. Toning is subjective, but I have a decent eye for good color.

Wheel marks are permanent damage caused to the deeper surface of a coin during the minting process.

The light helps show any and all colors on the coin. No light, no luster or proper presentation of color.

I’m guessing you don’t know how big the toning market is? I was offered almost $600 for one of those quarters so far. Toning is a thing you can’t price out with a price guide or greysheet.
