lilopad which cuts down on dependencies that podman has. I probably have PTSD from using linux in the past as novice and getting into dependency hell so it's great to have cut back on that. From sandboxing, snapshots, containers, appimage, flatpak, and kvm. A stable base like Linux Mint along with Distrobox, Bottles, Heroic has made it seamless to use Linux coming as a long term Windows luser.

QUESTION--- can one also use ANDROID apps on my LMDE6 with DISTROBOX???? I have BLINK security cameras and they are android-- but I need them on my computer not the phone (or in addition to).. and wonder how this would work? I tried android apps in VANILLA OS and it didn't work at all-- NOT in BLEND either!!!
Amazing video Jack. I know you uploaded it 3 weeks ago or so it says, but I just saw it right now. I love the AUR. I install VS Code, atlauncher (usually, right now I'm trying out Prism launcher. They are minecraft launchers), megasync, some themes, Microsoft fonts and others. With this type of tool, not sure if themes and fonts would work system-wide since they are in a container, but maybe there is a way to export those into the actual system to actually use them.

Hi Sean, The option “-delete” will un-export an app, binary, or service. Example: distrobox-export --app atom --delete You can find more info here: www.mankier.com/1/distrobox-export Alternatively, you could manually remove the Application icons in ~/.local/share/applications
Am I crazy or is an Immutable OS just a way to give someone else control over your machine at the deepest level kind of like M$ Windows? Which is the exact reason i switched to linux in the first place.
It keeps your linux system "lean and mean". there's got to be some level of trust with distro maintainers and package managers regardless of what you use. To me it's just another layer of security.
If you're using distro box with mint then you run a Arch based system through through distro box if Arch like for example Manjaro breaks after an update or something that you did will it break Linux mint ??
