I am so in love with the Sleepy Hollow Dress I made last year, but I very much wanted to make a shorter, more casual version that I could wear every day, as an "every day cosplay". I realized my aesthetic is cottagecore, but also just, costume-core, where everything is a secret cosplay. So in honor of this, I wanted to make this 18th century zone front dress, but as a one piece, easy to wear dress.
In this video, I show myself drafting the pattern, sewing it up, including boning the insides, and putting the stripes just so as in the movie. I utilize sewing a full circle skirt as well as showing how to pleat a skirt and put in on in the 18th century method.

Stine, this violet dress you were wearing had me on a crazy optical ilusion! I was thinking "wow, christine's waist is snatched in this corset she's wearing!", and then you moved your arms and I realized those were actually lines in your dress, I was so confused for a second lol, it's a really pretty secret cosplay dress!

I totally got that same vibe until she moved her arms. I was trying really hard to figure out how she was achieving that fit at first. Christine looks great in it, and I can totally see that it is wonderfully comfortably. I wonder if she will be tempted to recreate the jacket in a manner that she prefers at some point. But, either way the dress is a win. Of course, this Sleepy Hollow 'summer' dress is also a major win.

You have a dress on display in a museum... As they say in the (Ottawa) Valley - hold up a minute. I'm sorry, can you roll that back again - that is absolutely wonderful. Well done, you! As far as artists categorizations go, I'm leaning more towards "Multi-media artist", as opposed to 'mixed media' or 'textile artist' because of all the work you do with your photographers and your YT work. Thus is my theory of the case for what you start your official catalogue biography with. *A Tickle Trunk* - (definition) a small child-size trunk strong enough to double as seating; the contents of which are costumes, props and dress-up clothing. The name for the trunk comes from multi-decade-long-running-TV-show _Dr. Dress-Up_. He was one of my TV adults, along with Sesame Street and The Electric Company, who made a lasting impression on the Boomer & Generation X and some of the Millennial generations. Any of us with kids will have some sort of trunk... That way the wee small lord of the household can play dress-up whenever the heck he wants to (which may help with some of the clothing rejection pile). Anything kids can grab on their own steam, without the help of an 'up-sie', is going to be played with more. Just a suggestion. That. Dress. Is. Sewstine a have also noticed your hair nas grown .I hope you carry o growing it because it really suits you.I love watching your vlogs i dont saw but suffer with stress after loseing my daughter to cystic fibrosis 6 month later i found out i has stage 4 bowl cancer .thankfully i have been clear of cancer for 4 years but it has been a terrible time. The whole video I was looking at your dress and wanting it so badly, and as I kept watching I realized why it looked so familiar. Went to the 'about' section of the video and confirmed I was indeed at big ol' nerd and yelled "THAT'S VIOLET EVERGARDEN!!" I loved this video and I for sure what to get this pattern so I can make something like this for myself. I love cosplay as real everyday clothes!

That is such a fun dress! Instantly recognizable as being inspired by the Sleepy Hollow, but still original and absolutely gorgeous. I love how this turned out. Its sew pretty. The twirl factor is, as Rachel Maksy would put it, the chef's kiss 😘 It would have been fun to see it next to Bee-tlejuice in all of his cuteness. Can you hold your little guy longer wearing this dress too, like you can with the Belle inspired dress?

I love both the Sleepy Hollow dress and the one you did last year. This one looks fun to wear. The best thing about making clothes is that they can be customized! So making it with the persons likes and dislike is definitely the way to go :) also, I adore your dress! And Violet is such a good anime!
