I think the important thing to remember is that ITS JUST HAIR! Long hair, short hair, makeup, Bare faced, we are all beautifully made. Hair grows back. Excited to see your new hair journey this year !
Hmmm. I certainly hear what you’re saying, but to a lot of people, it’s not really just hair. Hair growth for me represents victory against chemo - because it hasn’t always grown back. Hair to others is self-expression, especially when it’s big, bouncy & healthy. But yeah, we are all beautifully made. :)
@@SamMKKK Yes, I agree with you. It could never be, "just hair" for me. To me, my hair is my image, my culture, my spirit, my hair is my glory. I wept like a child when I had to cut it when it was damaged. And I would just look in the mirror at my hair after it had been cut, there was so much beauty and history in every strand and then it was just gone. A lot of women say they feel liberated and more womanly when they cut their hair short, for me it was the opposite. I felt so unwhole, so broken and small. I'm growing it back now and sometimes I doubt if it will return to its formal glory. But the positive in this journey is I don't take it for granted like I did when I was younger, and I am more mindful about what I do to it. Onto more positive things... congrats on your victory against chemo. Sending you health and light.
I shaved my head to signify me cutting off all the toxic people in my life. The hair was as damaged as my mental health. I'm in a much better place now.
Girl its ok, you’re only 23, you’re gonna go through so many changes even in your 40, 50, 60+. The key is to always keep learning and don’t compromise your values.
Its YOUR hair. I don't understand why some feel they can tell you how or what you should do to your hair. Its only hair and it grows back. I've cut my hair many times and I've gotten the same comments. I love the cut look on you honestly ❤ Only you know what's best for you and your hair.
I’ve cut my hair 3x and the 3rd was because of heat damage. One of the most annoying things was people trying to convince me to not cut my hair cause there was some miracle treatment that would make my curls bounce back. Getting a low buzz cut was the best decision I made. Lowkey itching to do it again.
I love the transparency in this video. Because I feel like everyone thinks that it is a race to see who can have the longest hair the fastest in the natural hair community (it's annoying), but I'm glad that you know and recognize that it is just hair and it will grow back and you can do what you want with YOUR hair. It looks cute. I remember when I cut my hair all off. I felt great. I just started wearing big earring and collecting cute baseball hats. It looks fine. Do you, girly.
I have dense fine hair which is low porosity. When I was permed I got my hair colored and it broke off. So I went natural and I just knew I could rock color. But of course my hair broke off. I always had my hair professionally done. It was just MY hair. Now after being natural for 6 years and no color for 4 years I know MY hair and doesn't like to be colored. So I truly understand our hair is unique. It's a journey.
Its been quite the roller coaster journey with you and your hair but this cut feels different. After watching just a couple seconds, its clear this was done out of necessity and not like the previous cuts (I did watch the last vid btw so I kinda saw this coming). Me being natural I always feel like I can never dye my hair, straighten it or anything but protective styles & wash & go’s because it’s not the “natural way” it just puts so much pressure on me but watching you do whatever you want with your hair for so many years really help me to do whatever I want with mine and I thank you for that. I feel this video on soooooo many levels! I literally just cut my hair off today from waist length to a twa. people don’t understand 1. IT’S HAIR IT’LL GROW BACK! and 2. it’s best to get rid of damaged hair than to try to “grow it out” because that doesn’t always work!

When you started talking about the loss and the stigma I'm right there with you. I shaved my head 2 weeks ago, I liked it so much I shaved my hair again because I felt like it was growing back too fast! I also felt emotional when you said you felt beautiful. These last 3 years of my life were probably the hardest I have gone through and I felt like my health and my hair quality was degrading, I wasn't feeling myself anymore. When I took a chance to start over, it's exactly as you described, I felt so beautiful, so feminine. I felt reborn in a way, because I didn't want to be held back by being too afraid to explore. The only way to learn is to be fearless! I wanted to to start life again with a new perspective, and I need to work on my foundation, my scalp foundation haha. I'm excited to start my journey of healing both emotionally and physically. Thanks so much for this video, it touched my heart!

I did my very 1st big chop in January. I colored my hair 2 weeks ago.... It was like I put a relaxer in my hair. 😡 I missed my curls 5 days in. I chopped my hair shorter than my original big chop and I LOVE IT! I'm 46 trust me it is so important to walk in YOUR authenticity daily! 👍🏾😍✊🏾
I've been natural almost 6yrs and cut my hair off at least 3x ( the last time was October) I'm finally growing it out...at least that is the plan.....for now lol
agreed ! plus most of us have multiple hair types in one , so you can base your hair off of one type . you need to learn YOUR hair . but I love the cut ! I transitioned my first time as well , then damaged it years later and did the big chop . grew it out for a year and put a relaxer in it 😩 now I’m retransitioning but honestly I love the journey . I’m excited about it !

Don’t be pressured cause you have such a great personality that’s full of sincerity coming through our screens. I’ve cut my hair a few times too and with the last big chop I’ve managed to not color it again. I still love color though. Straight hair not so much. I will continue to watch all your videos till kingdom come. To me, something isn't worth having if i can't have fun and do what i want with it. If i can't colour or shave or do whatever i want with my hair, is it really mine and is it even worth having? Life is wayyy too short for people to be this hung up on something like hair. I felt this on so many levels like I have debated on getting my hair cut completely off. Like another girl asked me after I told her that I was gonna get my hair cut Saturday that she was like you gonna wear a wig?? I feel great and it was the best decision I could have made. My hair is very fine and thin and putting all those chemicals in my hair was insane. When my hair grew back and I combed it out and was preparing to wash it, my mom was all like, don’t cut your hair again 🙄. I mean I don’t plan to; having short hair was/is harder than it was when I had a lot of hair. I mean I still didn’t know how to do it, but I could at least put it in a puff or do something with it 😩.
