Brother, you’ve gotta be the best most animated at telling these stories that I’ve ever met. I REALLY DO appreciate you taking the time to provide these stories they leave me on the edge of my seat. I feel the rush as if i were there myself. You’ve clearly got a gift for communicating this type of stuff. Please Stay safe out there!
I have no doubt these stories are 100% true. The vivid details, and honest emotions tell me this dude is in no way making this up. You are the man sure and would be an honor to meet you. Good luck and thank you.
@O R yeah his stories are very true. He would be called out by fellow guides that know him if he was being dishonest. He's telling these stories on the inner web for a few years. So any of you self ritchous stuck up snobs don't believe him it's because in all actuality it's hard for you to believe it's genuine because you have The ultimate example of boring lives so you wanna spoil it for anyone actually doing something with the Life God blessed The other person with. ;) So kick Rock's snobs.
@O R If u are confident with the veracity of his stories while hunting,&Fishing etc(and from the very little I know about this dude, this is his life). It would appear he spends more time out in the bush than he does in a "urban environment",so why would he make such a thing up&run the risk of people thinking he's nuts and lost the Plot!?What has he to gain, except for losing his"Rep"amongst fellow hunters&guides!! .I'm sure u know more about this world(The Hunting&fishing, outdoors life)than me,but I am well travelled&I've met all kinds of people and he appears quite genuine.
That was probley my favorite story of all stories, about close encounters with a bear,Steve. Thanks for sharing ,I saw the original story a long time ago,and been wanting to save it and could listen to it several times.Never gets old, should be shared by everyone here with hunters and friends, 👍
As a police officer (many years ago) I was involved in a shooting situation. You describe what happened to me with precision! It happened so fast that in real time it was probably only 3 seconds from the time his gun came out until he was done on the floor. Yet in my mind it seemed like 30 seconds had passed. The adrenaline hit about 2 minutes later and I quivered like a cold wet dog! Thanks for ALL your videos. wish I had the young legs and big bank account to do a hunt with you. It would be the trip of a lifetime. I've been fortunate to live in Montana for over 20 years and have enjoyed bow and gun hunts for deer, elk and antelope. Would like to get a wolf and have seen them when bow hunting but they are pretty cagey during the rifle season here.
Great story. Love to hear more. To the individuals who say you should not have followed the bear, I say you obviously know nothing about hunting! When you wound an animal especially a dangerous one, you must follow the animal and dispatch it. It is the ethical and humane thing to do. That hunter risked his life to go after a wounded bear under those circumstances to put it out of its suffering. Whether you agree with the original premise of Hunting or not, he absolutely did the very courageous and ethical thing of tracking and ending the animal’s suffering.
Yep, it's called being an ethical hunter who doesn't Ieave a wounded animaI to die a sIow, painfuI death, and not leaving a wounded, pissed off bear behind to end up attacking and/or possibIy kiIIing someone else. Bears are inteIIigent enough to Iay up and end up ruining someone else's day, if not making it their Iast day. Crazy story though, kiIIing it with a great shot in the dark hoIe. I'm betting he needed a change of shorts after that. I know I wouId've 😅
Thank you, Steve. You ARE the best entertainment on all of RU-vid. Outdoor Life magazine's "This Happened to Me" has been around since the early 1940s, your tales would top any thing they've ever printed. Stay safe.
I stumbled onto your channel and listened to your story... I'm hooked! Great story and I'm not even a hunter! I'm 59 yrs. old with stage 4 Cancer laying around everyday all day, so good stories are great therapy!!! Cant wait for more! BE SAFE!!! GOD BLESS!!! (and yes, there is a God that was looking out for you that day! And go ahead and play the macho guy that meant to shoot the bear right between the eyes! What the heck! LOL! GREAT story!)
Dave...i beat cancer, a melanoma that went to my lymph nodes back in '97. Surgery plus chemo for over a year. You know the story, injections 3x a week, sick for 18hrs after each injection. Scared it would spread, but only with God's grace I survived. These stories are great and I'm not a Hunter either, I'm a 70 year old woman that LOVES to research, hear, and read about bears. I even sketch them! I have 5 black bears in my back yard AND a big pack of coywolves picked up on a trail cam. Planning to write a story, and you should do the same. I'm sure with stories you've heard, you can write a really good one. Blessings and prayers Dave! I Will pray for you, promise, Boo
Thank God that you are OK and you didn't get hurt. You seem like a really nice nice man and a great guide. I wish you had nothing but the best in safety all the days of your life.
So you think god has some people attacked, mauled and killed by bears but chooses not to protect them? And some people get the help they need to survive?
@@baffinjigger6223 God does not have people mauled. I am never surprised when a cranky, probably lonely person is offended when I mention God. You non believers are quite agitated in general. since I don't feel like writing a novel especially to you, I'm going to tell you in very simple terms. I feel those who pray and who honestly love God do get helped sometimes not all the time by angels and our heavenly father. This doesn't mean we live a soft comfortable life if existence. Prayer helps.
@@markthomas4083 great way to explain yourself and address the questions. that’s something that is so hard to explain, Lord never wants us to go through bad things. He’ll do some things to get our attention, a wake up call But there is evil out there, and it will latch itself to one who doesn’t ask for protection. Simple as that.
After watching several of your sasquatch videos I had to tell you about my encounters. I mentioned waking up twice in very dark woods with one standing 18 inches away. Both encounters were virtually the same except for the campers. I was there both times, obviously. The first was with my best friend and the second was with his older brother. Yeah it was startling, very much so. Finding out that we were surrounded may have been worse, especially when twice the original number were screaming from close proximity. Approximately twice the original number of screamers in total. The one that was really close was dead silent (vocally) the whole time on both campouts. The only sound it made were it's footfalls as it ran away from me. We couldn't even see the others (the screamers) even though they were quite close. We just knew their numbers doubled from the sound of things. I realized, immediately upon opening my eyes that I would chase it away. I felt safe and empowered by the fact that I was not dieing as I woke up. I was a foot and a half away and I didn't like it. I had to chase it. The damn thing just startled me too much. I'll take both my encounters over your close call with the bear any day. I may have been scared but I wasn't scared shitless. I didn't leave a load in my pants or even skid marks. I think it would have been different with the bear. I honestly think I would have looked like a baby that had dumped two full loads into a diaper. I would have shat my pants big time.
@@davidhansen951 . I worked with a guy who was sent back for more ammo from the point of contact of a firefight in the jungle in Vietnam . Running back to the conntact point a viet cong stepped out from behind a big tree with his ak at hip level .He was smiling because he knew he had the drop on my buddy . My buddy remembers thinking IM DEAD . Time went into slow motion . The VC then looked down at his own rifle and started to work the bolt . Turns out the guys rifle was either jammed or was empty .Once Don realised that charlie was defenseless he raised his rifle and shot him 3 times . Then he stood over the VC and said "pretty ef... funny huh Mot... Fu..r! Then put his gun on full auto and cut the guy in half.
Theodore Martin guys, unrelated subject...sounds like some ppl here have experience being in the woods over night and so on.... let me ask you this, cuz I want to ask someone at random. I'll set the scene. Your in the woods, or a field, maybe a camp site that's miles from a town or city. It's dark. It's quiet, other than frogs in the pond. And then you hear a stick snap. Like the sound of dead hard pine branch snapping off a tree. Or perhaps being stepped on. And you then realize how quiet it really is. What wd make that stick snap? I cannot think of any animal that's heavy enough, and dumb enough to be tromping around onto a stick and break it, but yet smart enough to freeze n be quiet after make a mistake like that. I can't think of any animal that comes out at night and don't make an effort to NOT step on a branch. All I can think of is another human creeping around our place
As a kid we was ontop of a shed roof, we was 7 or 8. The shed roof was 8ft up. To climb on we had to crawl over a plank of wood. One day the wood slipped while a younger kid was on it. I was closest to her. It went in slow motion, the plank falling and her going an i just grabbed her hands. We pulled her up. We didn't climb up the shed roof after that
@@voxpopuli905 It could be anything from a coyote to an elephant lol! Not including another human waiting to chop your head off after you go to sleep, tons of non-nocturnal animals roam at night. I really learned a long time ago to not worry about any noises, i guess i am 60 now and if its gonna get me it does. Unless its thrashing like a huge bear or growling i don't worry too much..i actually worry more about some human nut out there gonna try and kill me more than an animal. I most of the time have my dogs with that let me know way early if something is around, if i don't have my dogs i set up my perimeter alarms to alert me if someone/something crosses them. Now if i am deep in the Mountains i don't take my dogs and don't set parameters and sleep like a baby!
I have listened to so many of your stories.... I don't care what anyone else says... God absolutely loves you Steve! Lol...he has kept you alive for a reason for sure
I definitely agree with you on the shotgun with slugs for wounded dangerous game. Lots of people don't understand how hard slugs hit and how well they transfer energy.
Great story, my adrenaline was pumping just listening and watching you tell how it went down. Couldn't imagine being there!! Awesome. Great shot by the way!!!!
Wow! What a Story. I had a Really bad nightmare off of Chantix the stop smoking drug about a grizzly bear 🐻 I will still Never forget & listening to your story boy my hair stood up on my arms & on the back of my neck! I found your channel in the beginning of July & I’m so glad I did! I’m a Nw Minnesota girl who grew up 20 miles above Minneapolis back in the 70s & 80s there was hardly anyone around .. maybe 5 families in our neighborhood & it grew to a huge number now but I have had some scary things happen to me in those woods! So glad I found your channel Thank you for all you do! 😉
I could listen to your stories all day. You live the life most of dream of having, but don’t have the courage. Thanks so much for sharing. Can we have more please?
I have stumbled upon your videos, and fell in love with the way you tell your stories, you are hysterical!!! Hahahaha. Keep em coming!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Oh, and of course, you have a new subscriber!!!
Hiya S.I. this is a great spine tingler memory story. I know the H2H crew were their on edges of seats. When you mentioned the adreno dump isn't it wild how all of one's senses are on point? I truly enjoy this story because you came away physically unscathed. Between the eyes! Phahhk Chief, you have angels on your shoulders. Thanks for sharing this. Know everyone that listens to this will love it. Take care & be well. Sincerely, Me. PS: blessings to you and Sarah & family & friends. 8/4/22 07:32. EST NY
Just accidentally came across your channel yesterday and am loving it. I don’t really care for how to books on hunting because I know how to hunt I just want the stories and those seem hard to find. My brother used to give me these leather bound books of short hunting stories that I loved and your like those books coming to life. Thank you!
I love your hunting stories. The big foot stories not so much. You a great storyteller. Your memory of events makes me think i am there. Keep telling your hunting stories.
Brother you are one brave man with some big big brass balls. I can't even imagine what kind of Rush that must be. That would have been a life-changing moment for me.All I can say about that Steve I'm sure glad you still here.
FUCK joe rogan, dude is a 2 faced snake in the grass.i think everyone knows that one guy, that has no honor, talks behind your back and would sell out his own mother......that's joe!
Wow, that is a crazy story. I don’t hunt. I just shoot at the range. I started watching your vlog because of the Squach stories. I have come to realize 2 things since I’ve been watching - One- I’m not crazy. You’ll hear my story soon. And two- I think I could enjoy hunting. My husband jokes with the guys at the range that I’m not allowed to come with him anymore. The first time I went with him, I blew a few minds. Thanks for the great stories.
Jeff Slaven The emphasis is on the word”stories”, this guy honestly reminds me of another bullshitter, Chuck Yeager, former USAF pilot..Not saying all his stories are untrue or manufactured, but he has that tone of embellishment to his voice, the type of guy that begins to believe his own steaming pile of shit after awhile.I was a hunter and fisherman and camper and canoeist for many years so I get the experiences, and I’m not a young kid , as a matter of fact I’m about 10 years older than this guy.I stumbled on this channel after reviewing outdoor gear, he is quite the storyteller.
The combination of the incredible stories and your real gift at telling the stories is unmatched, this is real entertainment. There is no doubt they are 100% true. This old hillbilly will stick to small game and white tails. But the bear & other big game stories are fantastic.
This was the very first video I watched when I started doing my own hunting. My guy kept saying I wish I had a partner to hunt with so when I no longer Drove semi tractor-trailer. decided I would go ahead and I would get my hunting license. And it's been a wonderful trip with you ever since and that was 7 years ago.
Bear: You must be nervous, having me BEARing down on you! You find my presence overBEARing? Am I unBEARable?? Well, just BEAR with me here! Maybe I could sing for you? I have a great BEARitone voice! HAHA! *Human runs away screaming* Bear: Hehehe. Gets 'em every time! *Steals human's food*
I just came across your videos by chance and I'm so glad I did. Your a hell of a story teller!!..I bet your children and families love listening to you..I know I do..with the sounds and the pictures makes me feel like I'm rite there. I'm so gonna have nightmares tonight cuz I'm a girl!!!!!
You no scoping Bear killer you and a head shot at that . Fair play glad that one shot worked out , I would like to think I could have done the same . How ever I am sure i would have screamed like a girl and would have had to have had a change of under wear . Still as long as you survive who care if you smell a bit on the way back to camp !!!! .
Thanks for the video. Oh my goodness. I just made a comment about hunting with you and I just changed my mind. Let's go fishing instead.... Thanks again for another killer story.
The first time I watched you tell this story, my eyes were so wide with fright, as if it was me in the story as it happened. Best hunt story ever! How about the one when the bear came in to camp, and there were children present? Whoo!
OMG.... Mr. Steve your Spirit Guides definitely guided your bullet... That is the most insane story I have heard you tell us so far... The Legend Lives On ...
I am glad to know I am not the only one that can keep every thing in a tight ball till after the shot is fired then have gumby legs and can't get out of the tree. Great story
Not even 1/2 way thru your video and I had a huge reality check. I will never get the image of that bear falling out of my head.I cried myself to sleep. Crying again this morning. HEARTBREAKING. Scared to watch your videos now. And I was loving your stories
