Just bought an EVO 1996 Roadie with 74k miles on it in babied condition. She’s my first Harley and it’s had the FULL stage 2 done, from the cam to the tune. I’m super stoked and it rides flawlessly. Thanks for the content.

I had a 2004 88ci low rider and I loved the screamin eagle 2s on it. It bit hard and crisp with a dealer flashed tune and a hi flow air filter. Best sounding bike I've ever heard. Maybe try that combo on the evo? Congrats on the new bike :)

Much better than Screamin Eagle out, the aftermarket isn’t bound by the EPA like SE/HD.

@@TheHighestGodisGood I know it sounds good, but if you’re starting out from OEM, there’s better options (sound & performance) for the same Buck as SE. I was knocking, they do sound pretty nice, just an option.

Dude! You made an awesome choice. Evo's rock, man. I did the same over a year ago... Swapped my 2012 103 heritage for a 1994 80 inch heritage softail. It was a little bit of a culture shock to me, but have grown to love that bike. I'd do it all over again given the chance. The vibration is part of it. It's kind of an acquired taste. But you've got a motor where the sky is the limit as far as parts and mileage. Good score man!! Rocking it!! Oh and by the way... New sub to!

I put 65.000 miles on a 1994 Heritage. Since then I have owned a 2010 Heritage stage ll and I love that bike. I now own a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra and at 70 years old, it is a great ride. In my opinion, the Evo engine is the best HD ever produced. Not as much power as today's M-8 engines but one that never gave me a problem. All I did was change the cam to a Crane 490 and S&S E model and it was perfect.

Your 2019 Street Glide is counter balanced. 1996 Road King is not counter balanced. It doesn't need it. The vibration is an engineering flaw (due to the firing order) that so many people have come to love about Harleys since 1909. The vibration is not the same as parallel twins or inline 4s. That type of vibration is buzzy and gets annoying, Harley's are like a heart beat that smooths out as RPM increases.

I own a 1997 fatboy and it is basically same except it has the two shocks under the frame and has the double swing arm. About a leaky rocker box cover. Heres my experienced mechanic trick. If its the two gaskets from the top this method will work. You must use permatex number 2 and only this type. Wipe the area well, then take the permatex#2 and push into the gap with your thumb, the legend here is that if it can leak oil from the inside, then a oil based sea;er can press in, so just press it into the groove, then leave it for around 10 hours and that leak will stop. Permatex #2 is oil based and never gets so hard that it cracks and the oil in it penetrates where oil was coming out. Other than that, make sure your rocker bolts arent loose

Instead of pulling the baffles out, drill a 1" hole in the baffles first. You need a long drill bit as there's usually a second baffle you need to go through farther in. Try that before you take the full baffle out. Nice ride btw. I got a 97 evo and I love the sound.

Dude Take my word (YOU MUST) replace the cam bearing if it hasn't been done already. Some bikes of these years have a cam bearing with a very high failure rate. I've had two friends with 97 Road Kings that ruined their EVO engines both at less than 50k miles. for a $10 bearing. My 97 has had the bearing replaced already and I'm still loving it at 61000 miles. you mentioned the air shocks in your video. I believe the first 150 pounds is 0 then one pound for every 30 pounds over I'm a big guy around 285 and only run about 6 pounds in mine front and rear. get yourself a pump made for the air suspension if you don't have one already.. lastly if you want your road king to handle much better, and ignore grooved pavement get yourself a true track stabilizer. Your gonna love this bike after you make it your own. I could buy a new one tomorrow, buy honestly, Im in love with my 97. I call her "Eva" . You'll be naming yours soon. they're that special. Good luck with your new bike my friend. CHANGE THAT CAM BEARING STAT!!!!!!!

After watching your exhaust videos for the SG you had and the Road King video updates, all I can say is two things. 1. You should of left the stock headers on the SG, those Zombie TABs would sound perfect (my 2019 SG 107 has that setup so I know first hand). You were struggling to find the setup you had, satisfying. I’ve heard many M8 bikes with headers and zombie’s and the sound just had the wrong tone. Sound janky if anything. 2. You threw out WAY too much money for that old Road King. That S&S motor will fail you a lot more than it already has and as you now know the “bait and switch” warranty is a joke. Next to the fact that you’re gonna probably have to stick more money into other areas of the bike as the age will catch up with it soon. I would of kept the SG. Anyways, that’s all my opinion. You make great content, and you’ve gained a new subscriber! 🤘🏻

Remove the baffles, take out the packing and reinstall the baffles before you spend coins on the pipes. A 2 into 1 exhaust will give you better performance. I've had a 98 FLHR for 22 years. I've replaced virtually everything on it over the years. Added 6 speed, 111 cu inch S&S. I've been all over the nation on it, not all 48 states, but a bunch of them. Might want to ditch the spokes for mags in case of a flat tire on a trip. In case you are wondering, 72 mph @3000 rpm. I've done 80 mph all day on the old 80 inch Evo on some trips. Ride the crap out it, you won't hurt it. Recently bought a a 99 FLHR as a spare bike for my oldest son to ride with me. Great fun. Enjoy your new bike.

i enjoyed the video because i`m patiently waiting for the first signs of spring so i can start looking after my 2009 Road King....watching your video is the closest i will come to being on my bike at this point in time....i find the more you ride the more you need to ride and the more you fall in love with everything about it....this winter sucks big-time....i enjoyed hearing the rumble...seeing the road and seeing the gas tank, handle bars and fuel tank gauges and the chrome headlight etc etc....that`s it bud...have fun mike newmarket ontario.......

hello from ukraine. I dream of a Harley, evo. I watched a lot of videos and only now, thanks to you, I understand why softtail, fatboy and haritage, their engines do not shake, and in road king the engine is not fixed so rigidly in the frame, and therefore it shakes in the frame, and I want the vibrations to beat harder, that's why I'll only watch softtail) thanks for the video, I'm waiting for new ones)

With you being tall ,the kuryakan 1 inch forward 1inch out floorboard relocation mounts really help a lot, and the extended rear brake pedal adds more comfort. I have a 97 Road King with fuel injection, and when the fuel injection goes out I am going with a carburetor.

My 97 ultra 40 thousand 1 owner 40000 miles on it. Not cared for like needed. But now it's pretty sweet. I pit around 500.00 in it. Evo is the bomb. There's so much on options for Evo.

Purchasing a 96 ultra classic in a couple weeks. Is there anything I should keep my eye out for? Also read that the cam bearing/camshaft needs changed to aftermarket. Anyone know anything about that?

Have a 97 ,replace it with a Torrington /Koyo cam bearing and the plastic breather gear ,and the fuel inlet [plastic ]if its Carb ,and maybe the lifters another good idea ,I believe ISKY are the best as they are non rollers

if that plastic cage cam bearing lets go ,your engine can be a boat anchor
