Happily using an X-S20 here in South-India in very hot and humid weather. Several times it got splashed by water quite badly and rained on a bit but that has not caused any issues so far at least. The camera seems built to very good tolerances and to hold up well to surprisingly heavy duty use. I was at first going to bring my Sony A7rV but I am glad I have the X-S20.
I bought this, I sold that, this is the best, that is better, I shouldn’t have sell this… the average follower like myself needs help picking up gear, not a GAS showdown

Thanks for the video! I've been heavily conflicted between the a6700, and the xs-20 for a first camera, but man the weather-sealing...I'll be going to japan in june 2025, peak rainy season. I'll miss the recipes 😔
I was also scared to take the X-S20 to Asia, because of the overheating problem I heard. After 3 weeks now on Sri Lanka, I never had any Issues. Important to set temperature setting to high. But not having weather sealing bothers me sometimes.
Camera should bring you joy! I like that. The ergonomics, specially the grip. Not small, not that big. Can compete with high-end expensive cameras. I love my X-S20😊
The XS-20 EVF is too small and the flippy screen only has 620 cdms of brightness. The focus is also sub-par. For a mid-tier camera, it has obvious drawbacks.
On size, if you delete the viewfinder and grip it's the same size as my X-E4, and as I had an aftermarket grip on the X-E4 anyway I've realised I can sell the X-E4!
I ordered my X-S20, received it, and then sent it back after about five days. I despised the tiny joystick. It's AWFUL! Such a shame. The joystick is so tiny, it's difficult to use. To add insult to injury, mine was malfunctioning. I would have to restart the camera to get it to work. Yes - I was on the current firmware.
Would you consider getting the new X-T50 that was just announced? Or is X-S20 better for vlogging? I had the X-S10 and loved it... but I left it back home. Now I'm thinking of buying a new camera and looking for a replacement while traveling. So looking for a smaller travel friendly camera for photo and video.
xt50 if you prefer its ergonomics (buttons/dials placement), more compact form factor (lack of grip) in exchange for more battery life, and are ok with the higher cost. otherwise, a used xs20 (or even an xs10) seems like the more practical choice esp for hybrid use (more on video). anyway, "travel-friendly" all comes down to your choice of lens :)
I believe the X-S20 is a 50/50 photo/video camera with several benefits over the new X-T50 especially with the 26.MP sensor with the 5th Gen processor !!
I think the main problem for travel is WR. Makes no sense to risk your trip for this. Even in England you should care about the average weather. XT5 is better alternative IMO, and also very fun to use.
I have an X-T3 and probably will for a while. When the X-S20 was announced I envisioned it as what I might get some day to replace the T3. Two things about it bother me though. First, the lack of WR. Secondly, the single card slot. Actually, the card slot issue is very small. But, since I take my camera hiking all the time, the lack of WR is a pretty big issue to me. But, the size of the body, the new battery and that grip really had me interested.
Yeah some fair points. I had the XT3. Loved it, however the battery life on that thing annoyed the hell out of me. One of the best things about the xs20 is the battery life. But yeah lack of WR can be a deal breaker

I have been thinking of getting this for quite sometime now but I only shoot stills with X-T100 which I have sold now and I havent done much videography. Would it be worth to get the X-S20? I am quite new to photography in general and your channel is one of the channel I watched quite frequently now. Keep up the good work!
Its really worth bro, i have my XS20 for one month and now im really in love with XS20. Really good for you to start shooting photos or video. Besides u need to consider some lens, if you press budget you can go to new AF lens TTArtisan pancake lens 28mm f2.8 or 56mm f1.8
Firstly thank you for the kind words. I think it’s a great camera especially for a hybrid shooter but if you’re just taking photos I would suggest something cheaper. Maybe and XT3 or XT30. These are great cameras for just taking photos!
@@Jay_Ducker I don’t do video. I love my XT30 for its size and weight. Bought the XS10 for the size & weight(similar to XT30) plus the IBIS. Excellent cameras both. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
My favorite Fuji camera. Pretty sure I'm going to get the XH2 also because of weather sealing. Before this I had the XH-1, XT20 and XT3. Never like the lack of grip on the XT series. Battery life was junk, no floppy screen and no stabilization. Now I love it.
bro, i got the x-s20 and you can just adjust the fan speed and temp. lock so it wont overheat as much. ive been in very hot locations with my x-s20 and it didnt overheat once so please just buy one back again cause its a beheamoth of a camera
you can shoot with recipes for video as well, they all miss some of the photo options, the x-s20 is a dumbed down x-h2s anything it can do your h2s can do better. logic says just use the h2s. I do get it though ever since trying an FP L i want one regardless of the fact that i have an x-h2 which i really like. The FP L is worse in most ways (other than being FF but who cares) but just i loved it. There is no good reason why i should spend 2-3k on a new camera system and lenses given that i have an X-T10, X-T4 and X-H2 plus 10 x-mount lenses.... and yet Note to self , watch the whole video... you then mention that you realise that x-h2s does recipes, but on the last bit of it being stolen that's what insurance is for! :D
I absolutely love my XS20. It's my first camera, I got into photography and videography and obsessed me with lenses so now I own 5 6 lenses and I love them all and have to go with them whenever I travel. I just wished the autofocus was slightly more reliable and picked up the subjects that I wanted and hunted focus a bit less. That is my only wish. I brought my XS20 to Svalbard with me where there were snow, very rough weather with even non weathersealed lens and all have survived. I used the camera so much that I remember so many memories every time I look at it. I just love it
