I sold them a STINKER of a car! 

Personally, I find it really difficult to get rid of the smoke smell from a car. They just never really seem to lose it if someone smoked in it even slightly regularly. You can clean the thing as much as you like, the smell is stuck with tar to everything. Behind every plastic panel, deep in seat foam, in the air con ducting, behind the dash - everywhere. It can be improved with a good clean as James is doing here - but you'll never get rid of it 100% and you'll be one hot day away from wanting to retch. The best way to view smoker's cars is like Cat N write-offs. Tradeable to the right person, but you may well have problems a week later when they're sick of the thing. Hence why rental cars have no-smoking signs. Always be suspicious if you get in a used car and find a powerful air freshener in there. They're hiding something.

I bought a car from High Peak. It had a powerful air freshener in as all their cars did. I chucked it away and so far have not noticed any bad smell so hope it wasn't to hide smoke. Smokers should have special number plates to distinguish them.

Morning Chops a quick tip Re Smoke and smell Grab a nice clean bucket chuck In a teaspoon of table salt Boil the kettle and cover the salt to let it dissolve then fill the bucket from the tap then get fresh clean straw ,not hard to find in Devon ,stick plenty in the bucket and leave in the car for a couple of days it absorbs the smell brilliantly.

The airbags will not go off just because you disconnected a plug. It will simply record a circuit fault that you will have to clear afterwards (but only if you turn on the ignition before reconnecting the seats).

Great video bud, use 2k filler primer in your gun, it goes on really thick and buries all sorts, I'd do say 5 coats and block it back with 400 then 800,you don't need to go any finer than 800,my daughters 20 and is hard pushed to answer the phone to me mate (!)

You can have the seats out and connect battery but you will get an airbag light and will need a scan tool to clear codes but it is safe to connect battery without seats installed the airbags will not deploy.

Car cleaner here.....I add "liquid air freshener" to my detergent when using a wet vac,i get it from my local chemical place as they come in diff scents in 5L (Lemon is great), really soak into the carper/fabrics making it smell much nicer, when dried if there is some odour left get some of the proper "Oust Air Freshener Odour Eliminator" not the cheaper stuff or supermarket own brand. Run the car in re-circulation with fan on no.2 for a few mins,switch off engine & leave doors closed for a fews hours, then before going home/locking up spray some more with doors closed over nite. I also use the proper household air freshener like Glade ,does wonders!

Bravo for doing the smoke decontamination properly instead of just bombing the interior which as you rightly said would abate after a couple of weeks 👌🏻

Those Mazda 2's are great. I've got a Blue one and is very comfortable... Seat belts go up and down, which is more unusual now.

Kuga brake and clutch is a simple clutch switch issue. There are two switches on the pedal. If either doesn’t read correctly it’ll ask for the brake as a back up for starting. If they’ve only changed one that’ll be your issue

Renewed a wiper blade. Couldnt justify the other wipers. 😂

9:30 couple options I’ve used to remove smoke smell. On Amazon Airvidox worked a treat on a golf I was selling or buy one of those ozone machines. Used one on a q7 and got rid of the smell

James. Anti bacterial wise. I’m using Zulflora with Jennychem antibacterial as well. It only lasts a week. And doesn’t quite shift cigarette. What are you using. I’ve been drenching carpets thanks advise not get sodden. More tips learnt.

When was Kuga last serviced ? I’m sure the pollen filter is down by the clutch pedal switches . If one fails then the brake becomes an override, so hence needing both pedals to start.

James (or viewers) - do use anything special for chrome trim along the lines of Owatrol? For window trim and roof bars that are quite water stained

It’s mad that these crossovers are so popular and hatchbacks like the Mazda 2 aren’t. They’re pretty much the same size, but the Mazda drives better, handles better, is more economical, easier to park, probably easier/cheaper on tyres and brakes.

£40 an hour is tremendously little for a garage to be charging with overheads etc. You’d wonder how they can make money.

Do you not find the Kia Sportage's (7-8 year old) very crusty around the back end?....I help a mechanic friend regularly and we've had a few in for rear brakes. The subframe, arms, brake backing plates were rotten, so much so the abs sensors were falling out....as the hub has to come off to do the horseshoe shaped handbrake shoes the backing plates fell to pieces, a simple job turned into a bloody nightmare.

That black Suzuki Swift Sport is a long way from its original owner in Tayside.

Vanish do a soap bar for stains. Shifts anything inc. bodily fluids. Clean wet microfibre with vanish bar rubbed into it shifts nicotine stains and smell is gone. It’s the nicotine you can smell. Just don’t soak the headliner. If wet extract it. Guarantee it’ll be gone. Not to time consuming. Just practice. There is no permanent fix for nicotine in air vents, ducts etc.

kia rio 1.25 should not use 10w30 clearly states on kia oil chart only use 5w30/5w40 with using 10w30 it will kill the mpg and for the garage to put wrong oil you think they check to confirm online this is why i told my sister when you get a service provide the oil yourself as they will put wrong oil in
