I Solved A Two Year Old CRIME While RIVER SCUBA DIVING

I solved a two year old crime while river scuba diving. I found a stolen gun and found a huge bullet while scuba diving the etowah river during the allatoona dam release. It created low visibility for scuba diving and dangerous waters. I also found a payphone underwater. The ultimate goal is to clean up the etowah river. Scuba diving rising waters is a real workout.
My scuba gear used on this dive.

I use to dive that very spot (and others) in the Etowah back in the mid 80's. The bridges were always fun because of all of the items you can find. There use to be an entire ATM machine in that area. Good hunting! Keep you eyes peeled for the Etowah Salamander Man!

Great video. I used to do a lot of Public Safety diving. One piece of advice I’d give you is to be careful with the “newer” (better condition) guns you find. It could still be loaded and fire if the conditions internally are still good. Enjoy your hunts. Thanks for sharing. Good luck to you.

Exploring with the Nug It looked like it was in fair condition. I thought the magazine was still in it, but couldn’t tell for sure. Just be careful because even if it isn’t there could still be one in the chamber. Enjoy your videos.

@@exploringwithnug On this same issue, whether the gun is new or old, its best to always keep the muzzle pointed it safe direction. Never hold it with your other hand in front of the muzzle. Even with a rusty old thing that could never possibly fire, its best to treat it as if it could fire. The reason for this is it eventually becomes burned into your brain to handle them safely without even thinking about it.
@kilobitti

@@scottys1423 My thoughts exactly. My heart jumped both in the underwater segment and after he surfaced, when he pointed the gun at himself and the person holding the camera. It was nice to see the officer handle it with proper care.

@@imaginewhirledpeas6696 respect for gun safety shows you’ve had training, and actually know what you’re doing. I haven’t been called a nerd for having being in the military before :D But it’s important to stand for what you believe. Roughly 430 people die in gun accidents in the US annually. Everybody is gangster until a hobbyist diver or a magnet fisher finds the murder weapon that might get them life in prison. I had chills when you pointed the gun towards your face. In my country they are not really a thing everybody has and throws in water but we know a thing or two about safety. Awesome video brother, it's crazy how many guns are just laying under these bridges, I've got one spot on the Etowah on the north side of allatoona where I've found about 15 guns total as well but most of them turned out to be toys, I went to a spot the other day that I know probably has many guns lying under it but unfortunately I got my magnet hung up on a tree and went I went back to get it someone had taken it but the man fishing under the bridge said he had recently found a gun just laying in the water next to the bank, this bridge is probably about 60 years old and I doubt anyone has ever magnet fished it so I know there's some treasure to be found, after I get a chance to go back with another magnet I'll tell you where it's at so you can go dive there if you want? I love your videos brother, treasure hunting in the river is one of my favorite things to do, I didn't really know how fast the water went up in the river when they start generating until I started fishing it up in cartersville, I was in the middle of the river once with my nephew standing on a gravel bar striper fishing with my nephew when the siren went off, before I knew it the water was up so high I had to put my nephew on my shoulders and the water was chest high, I know better now and I always warn people when I hear the siren, it's very dangerous when they let all that water go, anyway I'm sorry about the novel lol, Be Safe And GL&HH TO YOU

1:53 I'm 99% sure that is part of a vehicle. It looks like a strut tower; where the front suspension is attached to the monocoque. Large hole in the centre is where the top mount and bearing are and the three smaller holes are where the strut assembly bolts to the body. Worth further investigation with a shovel if you dive there again.

I'll never understand why ppl throw certain things into water ways like that? I guess maybe they're all parts of crimes...did someone use the rotary phone to knock someone out and kill them, so they threw it out? Maybe someone stole the payphone to steal the money from it and then had to dispose of it I guess, but...still...its ridiculous the amount of stuff these kinds of videos show down there!

It's weird how guns can travel,10 years ago I legally purchased a colt python 357 mag and then legally sold 2 year's later,Then 6 months ago I get a visit from a detective asking about that pistol, apparently some kids found it in the river, Someone had robbed and killed the man I sold it to they then went on to kill 2 more people with that gun and Rob several stores, And they tossed it in the the okalawha river that pistol traveled from Florida to alska down to Texas and back to the same county I live in within 10 years

What crime did you solve??? I would've never thought to drag a rock. Then again I'm not a diver, but still a great idea. For someone who cannot swim I definitely got nervous when you couldn't see & the current became stronger. 😱 I was thinking, (why not just swim on top of the water & conserve your air for when/if you get tired?
