I play and spend the amount that I do on this game because it's what I enjoy, and (mostly thanks in part to my generous fellow whales), it's what I can afford. I hope for everyone else to be mindful of their spending and can eventually build a source of income or career (I got lucky with mine) that can eventually support the things you may one day come to enjoy too, I mean, that's part of what life's about ain't it.
