Ran the calcs on that Porygon2 fight, and if I didn't get the math wrong that sequence had about a .076% chance of happening, or about a 1 in 131,072 chance. You got the SHAFT on that fight, but this entire video was ridiculously entertaining throughout!

I can't believe this video was 40-minutes long, it was so nice to watch that I lost track of time! Crystal Clear looks like one of the best rom hacks ever, I personally love the old school graphics and seeing such small details (like a golden Espeon or a black Scizor) was a nice surprise. I'm convinced to try a run in this game in the future!

20:10 That is a Half Life reference.^^ At the beginning of the game in the lobby, there is a security guard sitting at a desk with a computer and a alarm button underneath the desk. Pressing it will trigger an alarm and the guard saying the extact same thing to Gordon

I would personally recommend reading the documentation. You were missing out on a lot of stuff (maybe it didn't appear in the video but idk) like the place in Goldenrod where you can customize your Pokemon and even set them up for transfers. Also, you can make stuff faster for yourself if you turn off animations for battles when grinding/resetting and switching to quick continue for faster soft resets. There are many hidden things in this hack rom and currently i'm at my second playthrough where I will transfer the team and shinies I get onto the 3DS games. Good video!

I intentionally skipped over the goldenrod place where you can set up your Pokémon for transfer since I played this on an emulator and most of the customization stuff is for transfering like nature adjustments since pokemon Crystal doesn’t have natures. I didn’t even consider turning off animations for grinding and stuff, couldve saved myself a bunch of time! 😂 this rom hack does have plenty of secrets though, had a blast playing through it and hope to play it again someday. @@mikeverdoes6763 you normally can’t, but you can with this rom because it’s just Pokémon Crystal with level adjustments and barrier removals basically

@@mikeverdoes6763 There's an official tool made by shockslayer that converts the GBC save into a Virtual Console save. You can transfer your Pokemon 3 ways on a 3DS to another game, all of them require homebrew though. First, the official one that is using Poke Transporter: this method is pretty straightforward and you will need Games from Gen 6 or 7 for it to work and Pokemon Bank too (I don't know if it still works to this day). All you gotta do is boot poke transporter and it'll read your Crystal Clear save if you have it as a Virtual Console game with the correct Pokemon Crystal ID The second method is through Pokemon Save Manager and it encompasses the last two ways: Pokemon Save Manager (or PKSM) is a homebrew tool that serves both as a bank for your pokemon and portable genning tool akin to PkHex. For the first method if you are playing Crystal Clear as a Virtual Console game you gotta use the Checkpoint homebrew app (Which you should have if you have your jailbroken 3DS) and backup your Crystal Clear save, then through PKSM try to find your save which should be on your checkpoint folders (you can browse through saves on the options menu) once done you can easily move or clone your pokemon to the storage to transfer them to the other games that they are in (Since it's gen 2 from Gen 3 onwards). The second way is basically the same but assumes that you are using a GBC save instead. You just search for the GBC save on your console and do the same

@@Oshawaves but you cant transfer pokemon from gen 2 to a gen 3 game. Only on the 3ds with pokemon bank, so this means you need to have a moded 3ds so that you can install the rom hack.

the open world stuff opens up so much fun stuff. By starting somewhere near the Pokémon League on the kanto side, with enough luck you can catch pokémon like Arbok, Rapidash and Dodrio in their 30s to 40s. You can even access Silver Cave with no badges at all!

@@Oshawaves Bro, don't support Crystal Clear (no matter how great it is). The people behind this game are scum and are profiting from the hard work of others. The pokemon rom hacking community has always been very open in sharing code and different techniques etc... These guys have taken so much without crediting anyone, don't share any of their own code (which is completely against community expectations) and are making large profits. This romhack could bring down the whole community when nintendo takes legal action.

24:01 not sure if you knew this, but the theme playing here is actually the all-star rest area theme from smash brothers melee, converted into GBA format of course. i recognized it right away! really cool easter egg great video by the way! underrated channel.

Did bro forget to mention that static encounters are 1/1024 or something like that in this version? That includes starters. Makes a full shiny team fairly easy. Happy to see people are still playing this!

Hey! I know this was months ago, but i found the video and loved it! I loved this video! Cc is my favorite Romhack and possibly my favorite Pokemon game in general! Main reason i commented here was to answer your question regarding the "winds of change" line. That is meant to signal to you that all static encounters, knocked out legendaries, and other events in game reset. These reset every time you beat the E4! I hope that helps!!

5:25 You probably already know that by now, but you actually *do* have a way to wake up the Snorlax: The radio in your PokéGear. There's a station that just plays the PokéFlute tune, you set that up and interact with the Snorlax, it'll wake it up and you can catch it. Edit: Also, I'd love to see a part 2 👍

Reason why the in-game time doesn't tally up with your play time: if you have the Real-time Clock option activated on whatever emulator you're using, the game time stays the same regardless of whether you use the speedup feature or not. The play time will be accelerated though.

23:21 that Aero had perfect DVs besides Speed (11 is still great). What a shame. I would have taken this over a shiny. Pokemon with great genetics are just as rare/valuable as shinies, and actually have an effect in battles.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen a CC playthrough pop up in my feed, tbh. Really fun watch, though! It seems like you really had a blast with it. I’m not all the way through the video yet so you might have picked her up later, but don’t go sleeping on Miltank! I caught Bluebell at the farm and she turned out to be the closest thing to a Paladin I’ve ever seen in any Pokemon game. Body Slam and Earthquake are absolutely nutty on her. 8U EDIT: Also the alarm thing in the Cinnabar lab is just a straight-up Half-Life 1 reference. During the pre-game buildup, you can press the alarm button under the front desk and the security worker chews you out about it, hah.

@@Oshawaves right? it still blows my mind, especially since I didn’t have any EQ users up til then (aside from a low-level Nido) I’m sorta parroting Smogon here, but even tho Miltank isn’t quite as tanky as Blissey or Snorlax, it has higher attack, so it can put up a pretty good offense. I was originally planning on dropping her since she wasn’t really seeing much action at first, but then when I saw she could learn EQ, she became one of my best team members. :V

Fun fact: if you go the the end of cerulean bridge, then go to where bills grandfather lives, theres a big lake of water that leads to a staircase. Go up the stairs, follow the mountian path, surf again. There will be a house there with a guy that gives you a free guaranteed shiny ditto egg! This makes getting shinies easier to hatch

There are multiple Exp. shares in this game. One is on top of the big cave west to the ruins of alph. Its right next to the Picknicker on the phone south of violet city. Youve got to head into the cave though.

You can get the EXP share as a prize in one of the game corners, and also a quick way to get fly early on is getting the mail pokemon Farfetch'd at the top of goldenrod, which knows fly.

@@Oshawaves In the original crystal version you talk to the guard between the city and route 35, he gives you one, and asks you to deliver it to a guy on route 31. In crystal clear this pokemon knows fly. You can just keep the pokemon but you bring it to the guy on route 31 he gives you a TM.

I enjoy this watching I've beat pokemon crystal clear and got a couple of shinies. I downloaded another file to do a shiny only team got a shiny totodile as my starter and caught the shiny miltank at the farm. I'm also going to hunt some of the legendary with chaining. Would love to see you play this again.

**wastes 90 minutes on speedup button** **uses 40 of those minutes soft reseting, saying it’s too bad it wasn’t all 90** **soft resets for 50 minutes on Zapdos** **leaves game on to get those 50 minutes on the clock** Am I the only one seeing flawed logic here?

My biggest regret playing this was somehow catching that high-level Tyranitar in Ilex Forest with a Pokeball, then using it as a safe backup in gym leader fights before my weaker Pokemon fainted.
