I found this idyllic hut on AirBnB so had to check it out and stay for a few days... Check out my Instagram - / alex_smith1809 Business enquiries - alexfordhamsmith@gmail.com
Lovely video, Alex. Thanks. Worth mentioning the wonderful walking trails the UK has. Here in my native Texas one cannot criss cross the country side, passing through pastures and fields without the real risk of being confronted with a gun toting land owner.
As it should be. You can crisscross all you want, just do it on public property. In Texas, you should be more worried about illegal immigrants than gun-toting landowners.
@@commonsense3333 I would be more worried about gun-toting landowners, not illegal immigrants.... just because someone is an illegal immigrant doesn't mean they're a danger to you. Gun-toting literally makes reference to someone intending to use a gun in an illegal or criminal manner, which is much more dangerous than an illegal immigrant lol
A illegal immigrant isn’t deadly by definition A gun on the other hand 🤷♀️ And seeing my hope for mankind ain’t that high I don’t think most people Should actually own one They lack the intelligence to make an actual wel thought through choice on the life of another
It's close to midnight in my part of the world.. But I just couldn't resist viewing just one last video of yours. And so happy that I did. There's nothing better than discovering a place on foot. You observe so many things which otherwise you would miss, were you to speed by in a car. I would say, walking is exhilarating and what a beautiful countryside you took us to. Thank you and Good night.
Definitely a hare with that gait! Great video mate. The white thing is a trig point or trigonometrical point. They usually have depressions in the top to put a theodolite (equipment used to measure angles). Thanks to these ordnance survey were able accurately map the UK. Now generally obsolete for surveying purposes due to modern technology then have become markers for walkers.
“Completed it mate” comment made me chuckle at the end 😅 Having grown up around these sorts of surrounding my entire life, it’s easy to take them for granted. Nice to see others enjoying the simple pleasures the uk countryside has to offer 🤷♂️
If I stayed in that hut I wouldn't wanna go home either ! - That folding space saving bed is terrific ! and this compact place has all the mod cons ! - Great stuff !
I am liking your videos even more than the fishing Alex, that says a lot. Your vids are interesting and calming and very watchable 👌🏼 thanks keep them coming. Loving these places and your excellent filming
1:09 i agree, we have a brewery down the road inmy town... it brews triples and doubles and they only sell it in their own brewery/restaurant. Great concept
Found your channel recently and have been watching a few videos a day to catch up on your adventures. I am recovering from knee surgery and have loved watching you walk around. Lovely spot you picked. I see I am not alone in liking your filming style. Keep up the great work!
Discovered you this afternoon and have watched your vids back to back. LOVE them! Terrific work, and like you I starting growing edibles for the first time during Covid.
Great video and very different from "Carl and Alex". I went walking with Nottingham YHA local group in the early 1980's on The Roaches, at the time there was a wild colony of Wallaby's but we never saw any. That was a brown Hare you saw, look for the black ear tips if in doubt. Some great mountain biking in the Peak District as an alternative to walking. Look forward to future uploads
great video! I knew as soon as I saw the surroundings, I knew where you were. I live within a mile of where you stayed! my grandad even has his face printed on one of the ales wincle brew :)
I guess I missed this video, but sure glad I watched it. Beautiful countryside, and what a neat little hut! I guess at this period you were still doing fishing videos with Carl.
Try the North Norfolk coast in summer time Alex. Places like Holkham, Cley, Weybourne have beautiful coastal walks and wildlife , unspoilt by industry etc. Kelling Heath is also one of my favourite places and I visit as often as I can.
I was fishing in Stert, whitch is a small village in Wiltshire next to Devizes when I heard a noise behind me and it was a barn owl , that had landed directly behind me on a fence post about two foot away , it did not suss I was there but it did as soon as it landed and it made a squawk type noise and flew off
I love your video's Alex! It's next thing to being there in real life. Thanks for taking us to some beautiful places with great views. Walking is great is great exercise and good for the soul. So who taught you to cook? On all of your video's your food always looks delicious. Happy hiking and travels to you. Can't wait to see your next video. 😉
Started to watch your videos, just like to say they are great same as the fishing videos you did with your brother, I know you both work together, but have different video channel's which I will be watching brothers channel as well. Keep up the good work. 🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟
Great video Alex I live in Derbyshire I know this sounds crazy but the roaches walk you did is famous for wild wallaby yes as in Australia wild animal still here stories of sightings in that area your car camping videos are very enjoyable
Hi Alex, have you ever walked the fire hills in Hastings? I think you’d love it! It’s cliff top walking, there’s a lot of woodland, streams, wildlife and even a waterfall if you can find it! It’s very peaceful if you want more info feel free to get in touch!
He has done a video from near there where he launches his boat from the end of the old town and canoes along past the nudey beach and sets up camp for the night .
@@danjames5552 yeah I’ve seen that it’s one of my favourite videos I just wasn’t sure if he has been up there that’s all. It’s a great video! Looked very peaceful.
Liked and subscribed .Definitely going to watch Alex doing his stuff on his channel . that Carl was just holing you back . more mushroom hunting out door stuff and crep checks bro
@@just_alex as much as we all love fishing we also love other things like camping walking ,cooking, mushroom hunting and outside stuff .your channel well be like 50 good channels all in one and you will have a million subs before you know it . i hope that you have not fallen out with you brother
The Roaches is my happy place! Close to where I grew up and where most of my family still live. If you drive past on the road adjacent part of the rock formation looks like a mans face complete with an eye that actually appears to wink at you as you pass. Quit near there is a pool called mermaids pool. Legend has it a mermaid baths on the bank at midnight on Easter eve! Legend also has it that the pool is so deep it joins up with the Atlantic ocean, which is possibly even more far fetched then the mermaid as the Roaches is in Midlands!!
Nothing wrong with enjoying your own company and going alone mate.. I’m the same. I’m a loner but in not lonely.. I have 3 siblings who are my closest friends that I see every week and incredible mates I see every week also.. I just like my own company sometimes
Same. For me I love my own company. I work in a busy Emergency department. Multiple professions and the public everyday. Just to have time to not need conversation is great. I could live there easily . Love the vids Alex. ♥️
Hey Alex. Question - When did you see the owl box with the chicks in ? My Dad wants to see a Barn Owl in the wild going out on a hunt. I know of a place that has about 12 boxes scattered around and I was going to take him down around April time... but if the chicks have already grown and flown.. Then it's obvs too late.. Great video and I can't wait to see you and Carl back again but without any pressure and just enjoying each others brother-ness again.... like it should.
@@just_alex Ohhh BTW. When I said back together. I meant as the 1 off's they will be.. I just hope you have a new dynamic with each other as Brothers who now and then hang out of each others vids and just enjoy each others company.. Thanks for the info. I can't wait till April now. Good luck on your solo trip. I have a few undiagnosed conditions (I'm 43 and just classed as hypoactive and left to it but I know I have ADHD, Dyslexia and a couple of others) So, seeing you finding yourself is going to be an amazing experience for yourself and us watching.
